    Great video! You clearly showed the product and how it worked without wasting time. I’m sure you wrote some sort of script and maybe had a scene list. That’s what they call production values! So many guys do long, rambling intros, and they might have good things to say but it’s hard to sit through all the “umms” and “like I saids.” Good work!

    Thanks for the video. I saw one video where a fellow put a cast iron griddle over the top. It was longer than the opening at the top and he was able to cook several items on it at the same time and worked well.

    1:31 what is the inner material ?? Cement ? clay ? ceramic ?
    Does the top cast iron part , seperate from the body ??

    Facing the opening where the wood goes in towards the wind helps immensely. You can see the wind direction coming from the top left of the screen.

    The rocket stove is also handy to have an alcohol burner when sticks are too moist to burn due to snow, rain, ice, and sleet. Put the alcohol burner inside the feeding hole on the side, and you are good to go. You can even put the simmer ring on the alcohol burner and snuff it out.

    I got a top grill from a Webber to put on top and cook my steaks with charcoal instead of a pan, it fits in the Ecozoom bag.

    Looks like it could use about another half inch away between the burn port. That would help all that initial smoke eh?

  • @DonCarlos590

    I ordered the same design from a different manufacturer. Hopefully it won't disappoint. I'm pretty pleased with my home-made stove I put together from an old chimney and some tin soup and coffee cans. With the chimney, it shields the flame from the wind so , keep in mind if wind pushes your flame at any time the amount of concentrated heat to your food will be diminished. It's going to take longer to get it simmer or boiling.

    So I use a bio light stove with grill and love it. I bought the Eco versa because I like the cast iron top that I can use with a heavy pan. What I’m trying to do is figure out a way to use wood pellets. I was wondering if you have tried this. I’m thinking of a stainless steel can about 6 inches high with drilled holes sides and bottom. If there is something already out there please let me know.

      @@ricochet243 I actually did. It’s a stainless steel piece you can pick up at Walmart for eating utensils. It has holes all around it. It fits perfectly inside and I can burn wood pellets.

      neil b you can get any charcoal grill top like Webber that’s round and fits the Eco Zoom then you can place your kettle on top, same if you want to grill steaks. That’s what I’ve done. Very efficient on fuel, well built.

    • @CroakerOutdoors
      @CroakerOutdoors 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This guy definitely sooted up his pan good and it happens when you put too much wood in. When you are burning efficiently, there is zero smoke coming out of the chimney. I have a Silver Fire rocket stove and wood is the best for example the wooden campsite table. I have melted a little bit into a lifetime plastic table.

    I thought the whole point of these stoves is that they emitted a small amount of smoke. I was gonna get one but not if it puts off this much smoke. I don’t want to be a sitting duck for someone that can see it.

      Seasoned wood is wood that has been thoroughly dried for a proper amount of time. It can be wood that has been cut down right on your property, stored in a dried place and allowed to dry for a minimum of six months.
