I think it was mentioned during the face to face talk with Batman and riddler that the riddlers goal was to not only obviously destroy the corruption but he was also hoping to be noticed and be talked about for years after setting up the flood on Gotham. So his reasoning for crying at the last scene was bc he wasn’t the talk of the news or there was any despair in Gotham, it was the opposite with the news covering about hope and them talking about Batman finally being seen as a symbol of that hope. My interruption and memory could be wrong tho, so idk if someone would wanna correct me or add on to it
Well there’s that, and the fact that Riddler is notorious for his massive ego and narcissism. Batman causing the complete failure of his long awaited plans is enough to make him burst into tears.

Batman used guns for years in the comics. It wasn't until newer iterations that he swore off guns. His literal first comics he ran around with 2 hand guns
Ben Afleck's Batman is adapted from a different Comic than this. He is a much older Batman who has passed 20 years fighting crime in Gotham. You will learn more when you will watch the movie.
I love how many criminals think every shadow is Batman after them. I also like how we see the cops in the room through Batman's eyes, feeling his awkwardness about following Jim where he wouldn't otherwise be welcome or free to do so. And I love when riddler and joker laugh together like school brats.
He worked out for the role, but he didn’t want to just be eye candy. So he purposefully only worked out the muscles that The Batman would actually need use of. I think this is the reason he had to mix mash the old Batman costumes for his screen test
Exactly. Thank you. Finally, someone knows Batman's history. People don't know that the no guns or killing people came about as a result of the Comics Code from the 50's when comics were forced to clean up their image or the government was going to come down on them. That's what made Batman 89, despite some of it's faults and inaccuracies, so great. It brought Batman back to his roots. And even in the Nolan one's, the no guns or killing rule is kind of like a running joke. He used guns or killed people in each one of them. He lets Ras die in Begins. He throws Harvey off the roof and kills him in TDK. And he used guns to straight up shoot and kill Talia in TDKR. People only see what they want to see 😂
@moonaki eater That doesn’t mean you ignore an integral piece of a character’s history because he started out a certain way. The gun usage and murder was only the case for like the first 1 to 2 years of the character’s existence, and he has been routinely portrayed as no guns, no killing for more than 80 years. 2 or so years of history is not enough to justify it, especially when those original stories are almost NEVER used as source material for the character in film adaptations or even in modern comics. They were hardly his roots.
@@a_fine_edition2746 hey, when you start off doing something, that is your beginning. You're roots. And like I said, they did it with Bale, they did it with Affleck and they did it with Keaton. Every major film adaptation, up till now, has done it. Does it happen constantly? Of course not. But you can't pretend it doesn't happen at all. You gotta call a spade a spade.
@@moonakieater2308 One important factor to consider is the real reason why batman does not kill which is, if he does then no joker, no ras al gul, no bane, no riddler, no scarecrow, basically no villain at all, which means comic book fans who want to read these stories and are willing to pay and a lot of money and comic company like dc who wants to earn a lot of money cant have that. which will never happen. Which is also the reason why most of the superheroes do not kill their villains as they also have a rogues gallery (rare exceptions like punisher) because of the same reason. once they kill them then no more stories about them and fans and comic book companies don't want that for entertainment and financial reasons.
Loved this movie. A great take on the Bat, the Cat, the Riddler and the Birds (Penguin & Falcone lol). This movie pulls elements and inspiration from the comic and animated movies - Batman: Year One and Batman: Hush. If you ever do animated films check them out! Great reaction vid, was looking forward to this :D
Batman injected himself with epinephrine to give himself an adrenaline boost. Some thought it might be Venom - not the Tom Hardy symbiote from the Marvel movies, but a powerful steroid that enhances the user's strength to superhuman levels. In the comics, Bane is well known for using Venom, but there was a storyline that also featured Batman becoming addicted to it. However, a recent production art book from the movie confirms that it was epinephrine that Batman injected himself with and not Venom.
Best part for me was the Riddler & Joker interaction + just the overall aesthetics of Gotham. Which, as cliche as this is about to sound, is a character itself. *Edit:* Also Batman & Gordon's relationship and the contentious relationship Batman has with GCPD is always great, but it was done especially well in this movie.
The riddle joker asked riddler, he said friends but the actual answer is a joker !!! There is a deleted scene online that the director released between Batman and joker, definitely check it out
Maybe Patterson didnt put any weight on since its batman's first or second year, and with the sequels hes doing, could put on the weight/muscle for the training through the year/s since the 1st

Based on his portrayal in the movie, i don't think it's good enough. When Riddlers laugh sounds more maniacal than Jokers, i don't think it's a good start.
It was Joker. There's a deleted scene that makes it clear (it's available to watch on the youtubes). For the pacing of the film it makes sense why they took it out, but it is a good scene.
The reason Penguin keeps calling Batman "Vengeance" is because when he fought that first gang of thugs, they were recording it with their phones. Bright as they are(and people do that in real life all the time)they posted it and it went viral. That's why Selina refers to him as vengeance as well.
The flight suit was done practically which is pretty cool. there is a behind the scenes clip you can find on youtube where you see the cape turn into the wingsuit.
Towards the start of the movie when Batman is beating those thugs, the scared one who ran away is played by Jay Lycurgo, who is currently playing Tim Drake (Robin) in the TV series Titans. I would recommend you watch Titans because I enjoy it, but a lot of people don’t
I liked the hole movie I thought it wasn't going to be good but in my opinion Pattinson plays1 of the better Batman I love how they turned Riddler into the Zodiac Killer that was awesome Dano was great but I think Colin Farrel Played the best character in the movie after Danny Devito played the penguin in the 90's I didn't think it could be done well it's a weird role to take on but I totally dig the hole New York gangster style the hole movie was damn good 👍
Im glad they portrayed penguin like he should be. He was created a few years before the valentine's day massacre and was based off of al capone's type of gangster.
Colin Ferrell is Penguin btw. This is basically perfect. Straight from the comics and gave me such hope for Batman. I gave up on DC after what they did to Batman and Bruce over the last 2 decades and millions have said the same, it relifted us fans, it lit our fires again and made us actually excited for a Batman movie. The previous movies did it awfully compared to this because they made it seem like Bruce was a playboy with slicked back hair and perfect attitude but he isn't. The comics gave us Batman and gave us Bruce Wayne and no other actor has done Bruce like how they wrote him. Yes ok Ben was the best as Batman but his Bruce was real bad. Again, this is straight from the comics. Robert had better stay on for more than the 3 movies he signed for because he, like I said, gave us hope for Batman again and made us proud. Best actor as Bruce and Batman. Next one will be Hush, then 3rd is Joker btw
To help explain the Ben affleck's Batman. He's playing as the Frank Miller dark knight returns Batman. Who much older and been through alot. And he doesn't use a gun until a dream sequence. But I know you will still like the movies. After hearing you say. "I wanna give all movies a fair chance. And form my own opinion"
This was a great reaction I absolutely loved this movie !! When rob said he didn’t work out for the role he was being sarcastic, he said in an interview it feels weird talking about how good he looks unless he’s absolutely huge like the rock, just the internet turning anything into news hahahaha the batmobile is definitely my favourite and robs Batman is now my favourite !!
You should watch the deleted scene of the Joker. This new version of the Joker is great. That been said, I’m very interested in watching you reacting to the rest of the DCEU films, particularly ‘Man of Steel’, ‘Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition’, and ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’. If you haven’t seen ‘Watchmen’ you should.
I had real high expectations when i went with my oldest son to watch this in theaters. The theatre was not full but more than half full. To be Honest I sat there waiting to feel what everybody else was screaming about. Half way through the movie my son woke me up saying I fell asleep. This movie did not feel like a Batman movie at all, more like a mash up of Seven, The Punisher, The Crow. The Tickler turning himself in was a mix of The Joker letting himself get caught and John Doe. When my son asked me what was wrong with this movie because he said he didn’t like the movie but it looked amazing. I told my son they went out if their way to make everything different by stealing bits and parts from various other movies and the biggest problem was we saw an Emo, brooding, Batman 100% of the time. Even when he was Bruce Wayne he was Batman, only without eye liner and the Bat suit. I rewatched it when it came out on HBO Max and liked it even less. Catwoman basically wearing a second hand store beanie with holes in it for a mask was hilarious. I just don’t understand why people say it’s the Best Batman movie of all time, it’s nowhere near as good as The Dark Night, Batman Begins, Tim Burton’s Batman, Batman Batman Returns, and Lego Batman. It’s in the Batman Forever and Batman and Robin level.
Yeah I don't get it either. The only thing that I can think if is people are desperately wanting it to be good and are trying to speak it into existence. I like the idea of it, but I don't like the movie. For example, We don't need to see Bruce Wayne on a 5 minute slow walk to go talk to Falcone. It just felt like this wasn't a movie and that it was just a really long music video because they really tried to shove the soundtrack down our throats. The dialogue was weak and that's putting it lightly. (Says 5 words, pausefor 5 seconds, then other person responds slowly.)
Yeah Ben Affleck occasionally uses guns, but that's part of his arc in his films, he starts as a Batman who's lost his way, and grows back to the Batman he's supposed to be, the execution just didn't work for everybody, but personally I loved it, even though we only got 2 films with him, Batman VS Superman Ultimate Edition, and Zack Snyder's Justice League, those are the only worthwhile versions of the film.
I can see they tried to do a detective noir but they chopped so much out you notice, also they should of kept the joker scenes which gave it a man hunter silence of the lambs vibe.
All batmen are awesome in there own way. Bens batman doesnt use guns in the sense that hes carrying a firearm. But as a grizzled veteran batman uses a specialized grenade launcher. Has a mini gun on the car. I can't say anything without spoilers. But Man of Steel, Bvs, ZSJL, are all great stories and characters that tie into the bigger picture. So to understand bens batman and those characters youd have to start at Man of steel. And follow the characters for the story arcs, character progression, motivations etc. I personally say there worth a shot and give in to the story being told
It's apples and oranges to compare it to the dark knight trilogy. tdk was more action with some good mystery/detective work and more flashy overall where as this movie had detective work as its foundation and carefully worked in action with less flash. The tone/atmosphere/asthetics of each were quite different. I believe it would be fair to say they're on par with each other in their respective areas, one not really being better than the other.
My theory is the green stuff he injected himself with is the serum Bane uses to power up. Maybe this will come into play in a future sequel where Bane steels the formula or it falls into the wrong hands and then Batman feels responsible.
@@jaxsonholt5933 yeah, it looks like venom, but after rewatching it, the serum has a label on it, and most of it's obscured but you can make out "phine" it's some sort of chemical compound.
@@jaxsonholt5933 yeah I figured it was something like that, not as in that exact word, just I knew it was probably some sort of adrenaline or something.
Production people from the movie have now come out & said it was not Venom. Though I think it kinda sets the ground work for it if they wanna go that way eventually.
There's no way I was the only one who got the rata alada instantaneously 🤣 Paul Dano was CRAZY GOOD!!!! batfleck and nolan both did batfleck just had an actual arc around it,nolan had guns on his batmobile and batwing
This movie is the opposite of a super hero movie. It's 100% a suspense/horror/crime drama
The thing about Robert Pattinson not wanting to work out was purely a joke he made, and of course the media made it into something it wasn't
It was only year 2 Batman so that’s why the Batmobile is like that and people are afraid of him
The guy in the cell is the joker. Look up the deleted scene of Batman talking to him in the prison. The new joker looks good
The most realistic adaptation of batman
Ben Affleck’s version of Batman doesn’t care anymore. Seen too much death and no at a breaking point
They could have used something like the tumbler from the dark knight series. They built it so it pretty realistic
Don't forget to check out the deleted scene
Now, watch the deleted Joker scene.
Does the "Like" mean you watched it?
Peguine always owned a night club bro. Definitely not aware of a lot DC lore.
I'm not, no.. I watched a lot of the 1960's Adam West Batman, but that's about it. But I'm enjoying checking it all out now. :)
It was joker in the cell with riddler. They even released a deleted scene with the joker and Batman you should react to that!
The stuff Batman took was venom which makes bane
The craziest Canadian accent on the planet lol. Replacing "th" with "d" is just crazy
Personally my favorite batman movie now
they released like a 5 minute deleted scene of joker that you should watch
I didn't think they could top the Nolan trilogy. I was wrong.
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
Do you think the serum Batman injected is the juice that Bane uses? That’s kind of my thought.
Yes. It’s the new joker. Watch the deleted scene. Actually pretty good
Affleck's Batman uses guns against like alien level threats. It's kind of morally okay lol.
You gotta react to the deleted scene that WB posted
Tal vez no me entiendas, pero Bruce está en su segundo año de vigilante, en si aún es un poco novato, por cierto great resction
It’s adrenaline
@@jaxsonholt5933 yeah, it looks like venom, but after rewatching it, the serum has a label on it, and most of it's obscured but you can make out "phine" it's some sort of chemical compound.
@@nathanielmorgan9108 it’s probably Epinephrine which is adrenaline
@@jaxsonholt5933 yeah I figured it was something like that, not as in that exact word, just I knew it was probably some sort of adrenaline or something.
Production people from the movie have now come out & said it was not Venom. Though I think it kinda sets the ground work for it if they wanna go that way eventually.
I would recommend watching the Michael Keaton Batman movies because the Flash movie is going to visit that continuity.
I think the green vial he injected himself with could be the same stuff Bane uses, Venom.
There’s a deleted scene with the joker you’d probably enjoy
Tyrome Power's "Zorro" is a better film...
Totally agree!! I got bored about halfway through and I’m all about super hero movies. The riddler was a joke…😂😂😂…pun intended
I wish Nolans films had the Riddles
Why would there be riddles if there’s no riddler?
@@ryanboldt3060 exactly. I wish his films had the Riddler
There's no way I was the only one who got the rata alada instantaneously 🤣
Paul Dano was CRAZY GOOD!!!!
NOW YOU GOTTA WATCH TWILIGHT just because Edward Cullen was the perfect test to Batman: creeping on Bella, sucking blood, watching Bella sleep... 🤣(BEFORE ANYONE CAN SAY ANYTHING I WAS A TWILIGHT FAN, DON'T CANCEL ME)
No Twilight.. We welcome you, but no twilight.. lol 😂
