This video has me in a daze just to see how well formed a sponge made your starter locs turn out in a matter of minutes, and how it gave you a FULL SET. I wish I'd tried this method 4 years ago, but instead, I was so anxious to start my journey that I ended up doing my own installation by hand with no parts & no grid pattern. Fortunately, they turned out somewhat decent, but had I tried THIS method, I'd have a healthy head FULL of locs right now. If I ever start my journey over again from scratch, I'm trying this sponge method for sure! Your locs in this video look INCREDIBLE & you made it look so freakin' easy! I love it! Thank you for this video. It's a GEM!
I just grew my hair just enough to finger coil. I started out with the same amount of hair as yours. I wish I had saw this b4 starting over. This is a very clever way to start! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I was sad when you cut your hair. But it’ll be worth it. I can’t wait to see your dreads flourish. I need a video of you just rubbing your head with the sponge. Oddly satisfying 😬
Thanks for the video I just tried this technique I have a question I use my my locking gel, and I'm about to wrap it and lay down my question is do I use the sponge again or from now on do I just twist by hand and use the Locking gel until it buds?
there is a difference between dreads and locs which is that locs are formed by the manipulation of hair product, dreads are formed by letting your hair do it's own thing in order to lock up
i really like your hair I'm twisting mine but its hard because my hair is curly .. what can i put on my head when i sleep to help them stay in place ??
Thanks for the tutorial my hair is only like an inch long but sponging to me is the best protective style for hair that’s under 2 inches I don’t really want freeform dreads I just want it to grill like this for at least six months then braid it
Hey I’m about do this this next week, got all the products here, but uno in your later video where u retwist with clips holding your hair in place, do u think I should use the clips the first time around even though you didn’t.
Definitely! My hair just performed better with it. But all hair is different. I would, however, recommend using SOMETHING as a lubricant because the dry sponge can break off your hair
Nice hair style you have but everyone hair texture is different. Do your research!!!!!! Works for you but not for me. I know what my hair needs to get that excellent look with the sponge. No peer pressure for me about my hair. I only listen to my GOD AND THATS ALL I NEED✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️✌️✌️

I've been growing my dreads for 4 months the sponge is a great way to start off.
I can’t wait to see my progress. How often do you retwist them?
I did for 3 days and i give up
Lmao 🤣.
tylorwithanO after you use the sponge, do you later start using your hands to twist them?
That’s how I started my dreads. Once they’re long enough. All my progress videos are on this playlist

I like using a little bit of loc lock gel...🤷🏾♀️
Thank you! And good luck with your hair journey 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I remember when I had free forms but i don’t remember how to get them

Good video.. you answered a lot of my questions 👍🏽👍🏽
Hello! Great video! One question... I have short straight hair. Will the dread sponge work on my hair?
Ima try this my hair is that length I'm so impatient I hate the short stage but ima give it a worl
Yeah go for it! It’s not my favorite stage either, but I just can’t wait to see the outcome
Exactly what I needed to see it looks like your mixed if that's the case you might mention that my hair is allot like yours
I hate define parts I want the free form
I'm deadass bout to restart my locs this way! They're perfect! I hate how the woman who started mines did my parts.
It looks good 😊
there is a difference between dreads and locs which is that locs are formed by the manipulation of hair product, dreads are formed by letting your hair do it's own thing in order to lock up
It’s called a dreadlock
Dreads and locs are same thing just different ways to say it, dreads came first but people didn't like that it had the word dread so they decided locs
Exaaactly! 🎯
Tf u talking about😂
Once I start does that mean I can't comb my hair forever?
How long did it take to lock and how many times you have to do it
Love them❤️
i really like your hair I'm twisting mine but its hard because my hair is curly .. what can i put on my head when i sleep to help them stay in place ??
A durag or satin scarf.
Thanks for the tutorial my hair is only like an inch long but sponging to me is the best protective style for hair that’s under 2 inches I don’t really want freeform dreads I just want it to grill like this for at least six months then braid it
Sounds like a plan!!

I would say to start using clips as early as you can when your hair is long enough. Using the sponge for too long will start to break off your hair.
@@tylorwithanO thank you😁😁
Can Women sponge for dreads?
Absolutely.
Man imma get my dreads back i took em out yesterday
Do it!
Same here
Thank you for this video.
Great video bro thanks 🙏🏾

Nope.
Guys please tell me can I use sponge with straight hair?
You cant

I’m sayin! Lol jk but thank you
@@tylorwithanO np i subscribed to ya channel can you subscribe to me and let all of your subscribers to subscribe to me
How long should the hair be?
There’s no definite length. Just long enough for the sponge to be able to twist it 🤷🏽♂️
Couldn’t I start without the shea moisture?
Definitely! My hair just performed better with it. But all hair is different. I would, however, recommend using SOMETHING as a lubricant because the dry sponge can break off your hair
tylorwithanO okay thanks
did you pick out and wash your hair first?
Did you ever start listening to him talk yet?
oop 😶
@@semidecent6773 damn g, who peed in your cereal this morning? A simple yes or no would've been fine. peace!
