For as long as I can remember, both parties, Democrat and Republican have ignored our broken immigration system. Both have pointed fingers, both have used the crisis for their own good and bad. Can we just come together and agree human trafficking is bad.

Just FYI, it' not like policies like "Remain in Mexico" are free for the U.S. or can be instantly reinstated with the snap of the president's finger. We have to negotiate with Mexico and we end up paying millions toward programs favorable to Mexico. That's besides all the violence that happens to asylum seekers while waiting in dangerous border areas of Mexico. Lastly, Remain in Mexico only applied to tens of thousands of migrants. A small fraction of those seeking to enter the U.S.

This “exposé” wanders all over the place. It starts with two substantive interviews and ends with a Love Fest for the Democrat Party by a DNC operative and a former Canadian. Shane Smith cannot seem to focus on the subject at hand and his fixation on the precise definition of “open” versus “closed” border is baffling. It’s journalistically irresponsive to conflate legal immigration with the problem imposed by those crossing the border illegally and then exploiting the amnesty process to remain here. Meanwhile, the issue of cartel involvement in the border crisis was dropped entirely after the first two interviews. Why VICE decided to segue from boots-on-the-ground accounts of Art del Cueto to the disjointed babbling of an antiquated James Carville, one can only guess. I suppose you have to consider the source. VICE.

Because Shane went into this, the biased leftists he is, believing there is no crisis. When it turned out there is a damn crisis, he has to shift the narrative as the libtards always do.

@@brobinson8614 Howdy. I hope all is well in New Zealand. Make no mistake, although Smith claims impartiality, both men are Democrats. ;-) Yes, James Carville, with that Louisiana drawl, is always interesting but he switched topics. The subject is not immigration. It's ILLEGAL Immigration and the chaos it creates at the southern border and throughout the United States. His analysis of the two-party system is not relevant to this discussion. Recognizing and putting an end to the ILLEGAL flow of millions of people from over 160 countries around the world is the issue at hand. The answer to the question posed is Yes, there is a Border Crisis and, second only to the economy, it is the top concern of Americans today. Have a good one.

@ james IMO you would not like the feeling of escaping your reality unless there was something you were trying to escape from. happy people, people who grew up in healthy environments, feel zero need to be anywhere but in the present moment, feeling it all. most people who use mind altering substances have psyches that have deeply buried their painful memories. they are so used to nervous system disregulagion that it is their normal, hence getting some form of relief and enjoyment from substances.

Agriculture, leisure and hospitality and construction, all rely heavily on undocumented labor. Big banks continue to deal in cartel money. Over few years some bank or banking association is fined some slap on the wrist amount. Make those sanctions HURT the banks that are in collusion, and that would help a lot. Also focusing on police and political corruption in regards to the cartels would help too. But, too much money is being made for anyone in the U.S. to take them on directly. Our campaigns rely on candidates getting into the deepest pockets, they spend half their time at it instead of doing the people's business. Time to get private money out of political campaigns.

  • @EShirako

I'd be more firm about the border situation IF our asylum APP wasn't so disgustingly-bad. It doesn't do much, it does that little-bit slowly, it has a random lottery, it needs to be refreshed like crazy on 'magic days' where new asylum lottery slots are opened up...they need to be able to turn themselves in if we can't make an app that works. Our asylum app was SO bad that I thought it wasn't far short of actually-criminal when I last looked about 5 months ago. It's awful, and there's little-to-no option aside from that app, and I have a LOT more mercy for them if we can't even BOTHER to code an asylum app that works properly. Once we fix THAT, I'll be game to fix everything else. The main issue is just that many are miserable and starving and they wouldn't be coming to us if they had something better (or even simply as-good!) waiting for them back at home. Though if someone is lying that 'it's always better in America', well, we need to stop THOSE people/news groups/whatever. Nicaragua and Cuba have terrible issues (or maybe Nic isn't as terrible in the last few months?) and just 'trying to go to work' would simply get people killed in crossfire. Cuba is just grindingly-poor, like worse than ever and it doesn't seem to be getting better...they mostly aren't doing this 'just to give up a good thing to suddenly have a better-thing in America', those folks are trying not to starve, trying to feed their families by working their butts off as day laborers or whatever.
The Cartels definitely need to be attended to in a SERIOUS way, though. They sound like the actual core of these problems. Aside from that awful app...it has a 2.3 star rating, though I don't know how many one-star-fools are leaving bad reviews due to rabid no-immigrant stances. Anyway...we definitely need to work on ALL of this.

The U.S should have an easy, straightforward working visa program that allows these people to come, work, prove themselves, and then apply to stay or renovate their status. What people in the U.S don't know is how expensive it is and how long it takes for someone to come to the country legally. The vast majority of these people come here to have a better life. Yes, there are bad people coming too, but if there was an easier way for people to come in legally with an effective process, then those bad people could be easily weeded out.

Imagine a comparable situation such as … attending a presidential debate consisting of only 1 candidate being present, unattended by any other contenders, proceeding to debate themselves and making arguments for both sides (speaking on the behalf of the other).
This old man, (and the lady before him) both ignorantly assume themselves to be worthy/knowledgeable enough to speak for their counterparts, but they have ZERO clue about what is actually true. The sheriff seems like an honest guy, but his information on how the precursors are coming in is outdated, and currently incorrect. The cartels used to ship them from china, but now they are all being made by the cartels. So you could blame china for how they got started, but now China is not to blame. It's an important distinction.

Well ... there are people who live in the same neighborhoods as those Haitians ... as well as law enforcement who have been interviewed and have said ... cats go missing all the time. There was a man who was pulled over and had dead cats in the vehicle. They are killing the geese as the local parks. There is video of a man walking down the street with a dead goose in his hand.
Some genius thought that it would be a good idea to allow them to drive and they have been getting into "accidents" like crazy ! I watched a video that showed an accident involving Haitians and a man walked up claiming that it was the 4th accident he had seen that day.
I haven't seen anyone say anything about dogs ... however, you can find multiple videos of residents and law enforcement officers being interviewed and stating that they are in fact eating cats.
There is also a video of a lady who was actively eating a cat when the police arrived at the scene after being called. They took photographs of the cat hair that the lady still had on her lips !
The southern border is completely open, women and children are being s-xually abused on their journey to the border, there are over 320,000 children who entered the country and are currently unaccounted for.
I wasn't alive when immigrants were arriving at Ellis Island. However, I wouldn't compare that to people being smuggled across the border in the middle of the night and not entering through the ports of entry.
Unfortunately, the lies these people spew don't have the effect they want when people who actually spend time researching these things decide to speak up.
There are videos recorded by people in Ohio as well as at the borders so you can see what is going on for yourselves !!!
Multiple videos, recorded by different people who are not working for any corporation.

@@Khalkara Look, it's just part of having low food security in a developing nation - in Haiti it is *in no way uncommon* to eat cats. Regardless of the commenter above, this is real. There is a region of Haiti where it is a Christmas season tradition to eat cat. Try this on: do a search for "eating cats in haiti" or "haitians eat cat", or any permutation of the like, excluding results from this year, and just see what comes up. Reality doesn't care what you think is racist or what the government wants you to believe, it just sits there, staring at you blankly, eating a cat, not a care in the world. I'm not saying you need to eat cat like a haitian, but we can aspire to be more like that.

There is no evidence of "pets going missing all the time" in the place he is referring to.
There is no evidence that Haitian immigrants are stealing (let alone eating) pets.
What you're doing with the search suggestion is 100% confirmation bias. If you google for something, there's a huge chance you're gonna find some result of the thing you're searching for.
I can google "american shitting in street" and probably find a result. That doesn't mean that this is evidence that tons of americans are shitting in the street or that this is normalized behaviour in the USA.
