If you have BMW with 6 cylinder engine and you want to know the symptoms of bad eccentric shaft sensor on BMW with N51 N52 N53 N54 N55 Engine that has been used in multiple models such as BMW E90 E60 X3 X5 E83 E70 E82 E65 E63 E64 F25 E61 we will explain in this video the symptoms of bad eccentric shaft sensor. The easiest way to diagnose bad eccentric shaft sensor is by testing it with scanner or scanning the car of any stored codes. We demonstrated the symptoms of bad eccentric shaft sensor on our N52 engine that is in 2007 BMW e90 325i but the eccentric shaft sensor symptoms should apply to multiple BMW 6 cylinder engines.

Great video 👍 helped me figure out if I needed a new sensor rather quickly.
My car doesn't start at all it just cranks, but the scan tool said it was the sensor and Valvetronic. I guess that the sensor goes out it also gets the code for the Valvetronic motor too because they run hand to hand?

Would this cause studdering and complete loss of power? I have several codes for the sensor and am replacing it along with my ignition coils.
Did ignition coils solved the problem?
@@sne231 Had to make several different part orders because something new kept coming up. It's been about three weeks and I should be tidying everything up this weekend. Will let you know.
Replaced the eccentric shaft sensor and ignition coils. No issues. It probably was more of an issue due to the sensor needing to be replaced as I had several codes. The ignition coils probably needed to be replaced anyways in my case but it probably wasn't necessarily needed in my case.
Can this cause misfires
Hi, Nice and clear videos. Could a faulty valvetronic motor and/or sensor cause loss of all compression? I have 318i which has lost all compression and I have had valvetronic codes in the past, I wonder if they are related...

God a problem on 325i e90 n52 engine the mo vvt is working and the power is there on the plug what can be the problem?
Could this cause the 2a87 code? I have a 2006 330i and the sensor is definitely soaked in oil. I wonder if changing this will resolve that code or will i need to do the camshaft bearing ledge seal?
Morning I got a bmw e90 320i 4cylinder n46b20 when I start my car it misfires and engine will be noisy when I unplug the top vvt sensor the misfire goes away an engine Wil quite what can be the problem.
I have a question about possible symptoms for the eccentric shaft sensor. When it’s hot and I come to a stop, my cars rpms will drop below 500 and shut off. Also when accelerating the car jolts and the rpms won’t go up. I ran a scan and the eccentric shaft sensor code did come up but I wanted to confirm if this is also symptoms of a failure.

Thank god Toyota and Honda make engines that you never need to repair, just maintain.
Honda does a good job, toyota not so well their engines are really slow

I have a 2013 328i coupe. and lately when starting the engine it start running rough , and some oil sips out of oil filter housing, and I have to turn the engine off, and open and close the oil cap, and the starts normally. What is my problem ? Thanks!
Mine would do the same one day I opened my hood and noticed a baby leak of oil near the oil filter housing I cleaned it off and thought it was no big deal then I woke up the next day and had More oil slipping I went to the store and my car starting shaking and my engine cut off

The sensor is $55?? I paid like $550 to my shop back in 2019 😅
If they used the Genuine BMW sensor the list price is $577.95 and purchase price is 20% off list which would be $462.36.
If they used the OE supplier VDO brand the sensor costs about $248.50 and has they same list price.
DO NOT USE A SENSOR THAT COSTS $55 IT WILL NOT LAST AND YOU WILL HAVE TO RE-DO THE JOB
