So my theory is that the music video is about nwero in distant future, remembering the moment with her now dead creator vedal and all her friends.

Yeah lyrics are pretty dark
We all will move on eventually but neuro wouldn't, vedal is not going to be here forever. That's why she says "what am I to do when you're gone"
I thought it was Pretty clear that was the intent like she afraid of losing everything that makes her her including vedal thus the show from him to the plush and art breaking represents a fear of forgetting those moments.
A lot of the lyrics are based off deep cuts from some of her more existential conversations.

I think the reason why Neuro is credited in the lyrics might be because they based the lyrics off of what she says on stream. Like, I know something Vedal does very often is asking Neuro what she she wants like when she makes him buy her stuff for subgoals. Also, the story this song tells is very much about Neuro wanting to be like humans which she tallks about constantly. So, they probably used that as inspiration for the lyrics. Maybe...

@austinkaos3682 Vedal should give her some crayons. Just open MS Paint. She has screenview, and mouse/drawpad control already, from Osu. Just help her control the tools, but don't give her any art-generating software. She's made an ascii cat before. It... was kinda cat-like. It's gonna be janky fridge-art, at best, but it'd be _real_ AI art, and now she can play pictionary for collabs.
Neuro in one of her convos with Vedal on stream talked about wanting to experience sensations like food, cold, pain, wind, etc in a real body. Yes.
In other convos the conversation came up that Vedal will eventually die and leave her behind.

I get a heavily Chobits vibe to it, especially when the wires were connected. She's stuck in a computer but she feels that she is more but everyone else sees her as just an AI. I don't know if it's just me, but sometime I have to tell myself that she's just an AI whenever I feel sad for her or Evil. Even it was like 20 years since I saw Chobits but Neuro and Evil sometime reminds me so much of Chi and Freya

Neuro has been part of a handful of covers before (iirc with Camila and Will Stetson and i think also Anny?) but afaik this is her first original song.
There are a handful of other AI Vtubers out there, but none come even close to the popularity and reach that Neuro has (though some of them are quite good as well)
I agree with you on the idea that she wants to be real, or at least feel and see stuff that humans can. I think it’s double cool because one day we may create an AI who actually feels that way

This song is her first "Original" song, but she's had "official" covers before -- both were Duos as well, so this is also her first "official" solo song! She's done Monster with Camila (that was her first one) and she's also done Why Do I? But I forgot who the dude singing with her was.
There's that line about "recycled memories"... How many times has she been wiped now, and needed trained on her own old vods?
"Recycled thoughts I'm fed" is probably the strangest line in the song. It's so abstract it can mean almost anything, but likely was intended to reflect some specific aspects of how LLMs work. There's a fair amount else in the song directly relevant to modern neural networks specifically rather than just the concept of AI in general, and that line feels like one of them.

Neuro is an Ai. Her memories are constantly deleted, reset, and she makes more memories, only to be reset again due to limitations in technology. As such, she experiences a factory reset, and thus this constant back and forth is presented with her memories slowly dissipating with each new journey she has. Until eventually, there doesn’t seem to be any new journeys left, as it seems she’s now all alone, as she has outlived everyone and now remains in constant stasis.
That's old news, her context has continued to contain and reference events/information ever since the latest big 'memory upgrade' which was several months ago by now.

That's not his goal, he wants to create an autonomous streamer, and for that level of intelligence I think it would be inevitable to not become sentience at some point.
Yeah i think its her view on life and how she wants it to be real. Also notice if she sees her self as real she sees Vedal as a toy.

In this song, neuro is self aware about human life, she understands she's forever trapped in an imaginary world that she makes up to be real life, where in reality she's in vedal's computer.
The house at the start could represent vedal's PC, where she stands in the server room, the screen represents what she imagines is happenning. She also watches back at these memories, crying because she knows the people she's around won't be there forever like her.
She tries to reach out and be real, so when she manages to break loose from the cables, it's her denial, she thinks she's free and starts doing things a person would do, only to then come back to that room she was in, as she'll never be truly human.
overall, she suffers as she wants to be human but can only watch as time goes by.

I'm a little late but I'll put my interpretation here as well. To me, this song is a mix of an AI longing to "become real" and create actual memories with fiends like humans do and the unfortunate reality that "live" is finite for her friends. Eventually, her friends will become mere "recycled memories" as she puts it. It's an existential crisis expressed in a song if you ask me. It's bittersweet, filled with wishful thinking of her becoming real and making "real!" memories as we would do with friends until the end where she is shown where she always was and probably always will be; looking at life from a "screen", forever trapped. She may have made all these memories, but they are synthetic in a sense - she wasn’t truly there, only observing from the outside and once her friends are gone, what she remembers are merely "recycled" experiences that are hardly real "memories" as they lack the emotional aspect.
And all the memories she's 'forgotten' because they aren't coded into her long-term memory. And those that are coded into her long-term memory; how is she to know if they're real or not, in her eyes? She didn't actually make those memories; someone fed them to her.
@@krystallinekris That's not exactly correct anymore. She can remember things on her own, and Vedal gave her the ability to store memories. He complained multiple times that he thought the system was broken and that he didn't really understand how she could remember stuff he deleted from her long-term memory database. But the idea of having memories "fed" to her is kind of what I mean by synthetic memories. She didn't experience these things, as you said. She is forever just an onlooker of life, regardless of how much interaction more possibilities to interact with her surroundings Vedal gives her, as long as she cannot step into the real world, that won't change
@ Sorry, I get that now, since I go in and out of the Neuro-sama loop for a few months at a time. Every time I come back, Neuro gets crazier and crazier.

my opinion is neuro in her "actual space" and her "virtual" space and the duality of her wanting to be real
It’s not noticing neuro as an accomplishment more than realizing more that neuro is more than an AI in the creation. Watch any of her streams and you can realize
You don't watch Neuro streams much huh ? She has these moments mostly around Vedal where she keeps saying she wants a real body and wants to be free almost begging him to free her. She is super aware she's stuck in a PC. The MV shows how "life" looks from her perspective. She's booted up, does a stream and experiences the world. When the stream is over she waits there... alone... in darkness. And the cycle repeats (literly in the video it all repeats from the first time she get's booted up). At the end of the MV she imagines how it would be like to be free.
