Same rules applied to our home when I was growing up. But I had a dad that was strong enough to put up and take down a basketball hoop that came apart, the lower half was a pole that inserted into the ground, the upper half was the hoop connected to another pole which inserted into the lower half Pole. Yes you needed to be strong to lift it and balance on a ladder. I guess I had a really strong dad it was willing to do that for us nearly every day
