She was standing in front of another camera, so the director could have easily have cut to that. Looks like the director was a trainee and didn't know how to get out of cutting to the wrong camera. Another alternative is that the camera had failed so they had no choice but to have her move to her desk.
If they're in the standing position graphics show up on the adjacent screen illustrating the news as she reads it so they probably didn't have graphics ready to show for that evening's news

There aren't many comments talking about the automated camera set up (which has been in news rooms for a while now) and so seemingly think it was the newsreaders initial mistake "she was in the wrong place but so calm". She was in the place she was supposed to be and as you say the automated set up fooked it up!
