      Fun fact, you are actually told to do that. Never apologise for technical difficulties or anything going wrong, don't draw attention to it. Always act in a way so that if someone just turned the TV or radio on as soon as the problem was cleared up, they should have no idea what just happened. They also just don't have time to freak out, they have a schedule to stick to (not that this stops some people!).
      But yes it was very very smooth.

      I would have been frazzled in my 20s. Saw a clip today a regular news report. The reporter on the beat began talking of the defendants "lengthy trial- 😳 lengthy hearing.." and I was like, girl, I feel ya, but it wasn't a devastating error. Lol. But it goes to show at least she cares. Hehe.

Occasionally they malfunction or fail to move while live on air, and for studio news like this there will rarely be a camera operator in the room to quickly take over. Producer/editor sits in a control room with a mixing desk in another part of the building

    She was standing in front of another camera, so the director could have easily have cut to that.
    Looks like the director was a trainee and didn't know how to get out of cutting to the wrong camera.
    Another alternative is that the camera had failed so they had no choice but to have her move to her desk.

      Indeed. There aren't many comments talking about the automated camera set up (which has been in news rooms for a while now) and so seemingly think it was the newsreaders initial mistake "she was in the wrong place but so calm".
      She was in the place she was supposed to be and as you say the automated set up fooked it up!
