- We got hammered by a big hail storm and things got bad really quick and I drove right through the middle of it. We are all safe but we do have some damage to Brandis car. Giant hail and fog in Oklahoma.

The ground was warm and it was a cold front pushing that hail in. That temp drop is what caused your fog. Like a glass of ice tea, sweating.
That was my thoughts on the fog happening with all of the hail and cold front coming through. So glad you are all safe and sound!

Dutch, we had softball sized hail come through, it was so bad you couldn't even see the roads afterwards. We had steam/fog coming off the roads as well. There was so much damage, windows broken out of car's and businesses. It's crazy weather. They're saying this storm season is going to be a bad one. Glad you made it home safe and sound. Stay safe. That hail and fog was crazy!! I live in Ohio, Thursday afternoon and evening we had 8 confirmed tornadoes come through. One was only about 10 miles from us and destroyed a small family farm. I feel so bad for the young family that were just starting out. Stay safe. This is not even tornado season here yet.
I believe that type of ground-hugging fog is called Tule Fog.🐾🇺🇸🐕🦺🦮

I was one time coming home from the mountains with my Mom and we run into a bad storm and we had so bad we had Golf ball size hail.
Everyone was pulling off the road it was so bad.
I pulled behind a flat bed 18 wheeler off the road.
What normally takes 6 hours took 9 hours with all the road delays and closed.
My husband was so worried about us and so glad when we got home.

Our big horse will stand out in the worst storms when she has a barn to get in!

I thank God you guys are all ok. It rained super hard , with some pea sized hail, and some heavy thunder and lightening and wind here in Sallisaw Oklahoma. Praise the Lord for everyone's safety.

Great place up top. Build a semi permanent base camp using a wooden base on which to put the tents. The platform can be raised to keep mice away nesting directly under your tent.

You can put a footprint tarp under the tent. That will protect tent from critters and rocks. Get a spark arrestor and cap for your stove. Keeps water out and prevents fires from starting due to sparks.

Hi guys, yup, wierd weather we had some bad stuf here too, People do not understand it is because of the glare on the camera that makes the ground look like it is flooded when it is NOT. You guys take care of your animals better than that, you know how to provide sanitary and healthy places for them to live. I wish people would just chill. Maybe build a platform for the tent. That way mice and critters will not dig under it. Hail can do major damage. The last big hailstorm we had at our house did over 10,000.00 in damage.

WOW THAT IS an amazing storm.
You can build a tent platform on that high bank. I've seen a few youtubers do that. Really nice, if you decide to hot tent, in the winter, just sweep the snow off the platform.

Weather man called it hail fog.
That tent is nice. I’ve seen people build a wood platform up off the ground and put the tent on that. It will help keep mice from getting under it. 👍🙏

I would put in some drainage ditches and culvert pipes to direct that water to one spot and away from everything. They don’t have to be big, just enough to help move the mass amount of water.

Nice for your friend to come with you to get the camping gear moved. Those critters found safety under that canvas.. looks like more rain to come. We’ve had a lot too in ETX. But not that hail storm.. that was scary.

That's a really nice spot up above the creek. But I'd built a slated platform to put the tent on. It may help against rodents and also help keep the bottom of the tent drier.

Here in Ohio we had several tornados. Lots of damage and some loss of life. 😭
Wow! That is unusual weather,and the fogginess,is like a horror flick,maybe it with 20 degrees with fog is very unusual.
You should get someone who does Landscaping they can reroute that water it comes through your yard when it is raining

🇦🇺We would camp a lot but always had a tarp over tents to keep rain off them. It’s easier to dry a tarp than to dry a tent.
Hey Dutch when folding up a tent leave the door open and put att window flaps down. Easiest way to fold up because the air escapes faster

We had a hail storm years ago, here in Alabama that made our little white car so dimpled it looked like a golf ball. Y'all stay safe.
That's called Advection Fog. It forms from surface contact of horizontal winds. Warm air, moist air blows in from the south and if there is hail, snow, or cool moisture on the ground it will come in contact with the warm, moist winds. This contact between the air and ground will cause the air blowing in to become cool. Then dew point rises and creates high humidity and forms fog. Some of it is due to radiation fog and precipitation fog. It all plays a part in the fog formation and if the wind is light, it will linger longer.
Oklahoma is tornado 🌪 alley. You guys stay safe out there. I hope you've added a tornado shelter on your property, it's a great investment. Praying 🙏🏾 everyone stays safe. God says, where 2 or 3 are gathered in My, there I am in the midst. You have so many people praying for you, your family and your neighboring communities.

I bought a hanging deer feeder for my chickens layer feed to cut back my waste. It go's off 3x a day.
Horses hooves soak up water. It doesn't have to be standing water, just moist ground. When we have major dry weather I over flow my water troughs , dry hooves are as bad as to wet.

You need ditches on both sides of your road with pipes going under and headed out a weather ditch to divert the water away from animals. Too much standing water can eventually cause foot rot and disease... Like giardia coccidia protazones and breeding ground for mosquitoes etc. is good to avoid issues.
We have a campsite up in our woods, we live on a mountain and have sloped land but there is one spot in the woods that was almost completely level. We dug up rocks and cut saplings and created a spot for tents. Then dug a small trench, more like a ‘dip’ around the spot to then allow rain to drain away from tent. We did this years ago, we have family and friends who like rough camping up there. Hiking is hard, and the trail can only accommodate our UTV, you can’t get there by pick-up truck. Beyond our property is a state forest, expect black bear and coyotes. Bring an air horn.
That spot where your moving the tent to. Put a carport there. OR a Versa Tube up .👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😃🙏

You all had very warm weather then you get that hail so yes you are going to get fog and the ground is warm so it is going to melt fast and run down the road.
🇦🇺A good time to work out where to put in drainage, on your property. Try to re-direct the water to the pond. You may need to build up parts of your land.

I’m from North Manchester Indiana we had terrible storms too with hail. We also had tornadoes about 100 miles from where I lived that didn’t need your damage other than the hail and the heavy rain and the wind we didn’t have much damage we were lucky

Build trenches hills turn water keep out stock pens,turn away ditch to dry land creek,flow to it not pens
Just a suggestion. I Thank you. need to grow some rotating pastures for the animals this way. They get fresh grass and you don't have to keep them in the same muddy mess all the time even though they have shelters.

I’m in Pittsburgh and we had fog like that after a little hail. It was low and thick and moving fast. After about an hour, it went away. Very unusual.
The hail at Eldridge was huge.
