    Great Job Lee! I enjoyed the abridged addition of the Inav setup since like you I have set up scores of planes with it. But when you go thru it quickly I can see the different stuff you do and learn from it. thanks again!

    Love your videos, they have given me the confidence to start an Inav project and well as help with so many other RC things.
    One suggestion for future videos would be to set the TX radio volume to a knob and turn it down when doing videos.
    Should hear a lot less ' Telemetry lost' then ;)
    Keep up the stellar work!

      That assumes I'd remember to turn it back up for flying ;) Happy flying!

    Great tutorial. Worth mentioning it's much easier to calibrate the FC before placing it in the plane. I really struggle when it's in the plane.

    Regarding the Fixed Wing Level Pitch Trim (fw_level_pitch_trim) command - If you notice on the Configuration tab under the Board and Sensor Alignment section, it says to "Use Fixed Wing Level Trim on the PID tuning tab under Mechanics instead (fw_level_pitch_trim)". Everything could be done via CLI, but just wanted to point out that there is a GUI location for that setting as well.

    I find it's worth checking "GPS use Galileo satellites" (13:28) - I get almost double the number (20+) in the UK with this selected.

    What I found is that if you using DJI, and you installed a OLED display in the flight control, and move the radio stick elevator up, throttle middle and left you can enter the menu, like in the a analog googles, a d you can change values because the info is in the OLED.

    Nice informative video! I have a question, can the spektrum ESCs, like the Avian, be connected to the Matek FC in this video?

  • @maxun1
    @maxun1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm following this tutorial to the letter. Specially the autotune, I have in mine in a second OSD screen the PID values to see how I started, and how the values start changing. I have no idea what's more change in the tuning process, may be rates too. I'm using the Agressor, H743 board. A analog vtx due to OSD limited in DJI. BN880 GPS. This is my first Inav 3.0 so I'm learning.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Best of luck. I have a video on the Autotune stuff. In INAV 3.0 you need to be in ACRO mode to AUTOTUNE so it can figure out the rates too.. Best of luck!

    Hi. Don't know if this problem is relavent to this video, I have a wing setup on inav 3.0 and using crossfire on the auto channel 17, it behaves like regular rssi and cannot change to lq as the channels in crossfire config only go to 12, tried to assign a channel for rssi but cannot seem to be able bar shows on receiver but does not move when you switch off the radio, also cannot turn off the channel 17 always shows in receiver tab tried setting rssi to channel 12 in cli instead of auto but nothing seems to work! Any advice welcome. I am using dji air unit and goggles. Thanks

  • @charlesjones5070
    @charlesjones5070 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    In INAV 3.x The fixed wing level pitch value has been moved to the PID Tuning - Mechanics menu, so I don’t think you need to go into the CLI to set that, granted it’s a bit harder to find though - Patreon: Charles Jones

    • @maxun1
      @maxun1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup if you know what you looking for. What I disagree is that no manual mode in been set in the radio. And if you run into trouble will be very early and the FC will crashed you airplane. By having MANUAL, at least you have full control of the aircraft and save it. And tune the surfaces mechanical. I watched to many plane lost to improper mechanical setup, relying almost completely to the computer.

    I bought a wing already setup with inav. Can I bind and fly? Or do I need a computer to do anything?

      Unless the manual is very detailed. I'd want to check how it was setup... See my INAV for beginners 2022 series and decent videos on the Swordfish...

    plugged a sonicmodel ESC into a matek FC, but i only get ESC beeps. once every 2 seconds. Can't seem to spin the motor up. It just beeps endlessly.
    I left the ESC's 5v wire disconnected like the matek FC wiring diagram instructed. I'm assuming this is becuae the ESC uses the 5v servo wire for its 5v BEC and my matek FC makes its own servo power up to 7.5v,... Does the ESC's 5v pin need to be connected to my 7.5v Vx servo pin?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe. I'd check the outputs are enabled and the ESC is calibrated too... Best of luck

    • @terminsane
      @terminsane ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Painless360 I managed to get it spinning and calibrated using "Standard" ESC protocol ,but it just goes back to beeping when in Dshot150 protocol
      Is that normal for the sonicmodel ESCs?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would you use inav for a heavy lifter multirotor? Or stick to arducopter?
    Does inav have smooth turning in corners for survey missions?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See the missions video. Ardupilot is the smoothest flyer IMHO.. Happy flying

    • @ZED-PV
      @ZED-PV 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Painless360 Alright I will, thank you! I'm happy with ardupilot so far. No doubt about it. But it is not too user friendly and QGC doesn't support all mission parameters so I have to plan from mission planner and execute from QGC which is a bit of a hassle.

    I know this isn't a QandA but I'm running Tracer on an f405-wing. I've built many quads. So I'm not super strange to the reciever tab but this is my first build on Inav. But I started in uart1. Soldered tracer Rx to uart 1. Set serial Rx on ports. In reciever I set serial based and crsfr. I am bound. But yet nothing is happening in reciever tab. I swapped TX and Rx thinking I may have them backwards. Nothing.. switched to uart 3 thinking maybe I had a bad uart. Still nothing. Is there something with INAV I'm missing? My reciever is good I just pulled it out of a quad with no issues. Please help I also left this comment on an earlier video.
