I never comment on TH-cam but i gotta say, before looking at the sub count i would have nerver guessed you had only 8 subscribers. The quality is excellent! Keep it up, I really like the flow, and coffee certainly needs a more layed down approach like yours!
Thanks for taking your time to leave the kind comments Xavier, really means a lot to me! No excuses not to give my best efforts despite being a baby channel, glad that you've enjoyed it!
Mate, your comment almost gave me a hard-on. Almost. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the editing, took me quite some time let me tell you that. I'm working hard on the next video, stay tuned!
Thank you for this great video :) DF64v is a great grinder but now I see that it's not for my setup. 1 out of 10 grinders goes off from my shortlist :) Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it, and most importantly helped your thought process! Just wondering what drove you away from DF64V, and which grinder you are gravitating towards more atm?
@@BeansNBanter No auto-off, rotating switch from the left side (my kitchen space is tight), no portafilter handle, no knock-off particle solution on the chute, and some other I forgot now. Varia VS6 makes me hot, I'm about to pull the trigger. Or... maybe you can make a video about it? :) I'd love to see it with your sense of humor.
Ooo good choice! For a long time I was looking at VS3 but the bad reviews online on the motor unit and grind dial issues drove me away. VS6 looks cool especially with the burr swapping mechanism, not too many reviews atm but TomsGrinderLab made a comprehensive review if you haven't seen it which I trust his expertise wholeheartedly. Man I can't believe I am getting review requests already! Thanks so so much for liking my content, I'll try to screenshot your comment and send it over to Varia and request a review unit but I doubt they gonna entertain a midget channel like mine 😂
@@BeansNBanter Too late :) I've had Varia VS6 with a promo code from one YTber (-100$) but then I've noticed that there is a cybermonday promo code from varia... what saved me nearly 250$, leaving the final proce reasonable. I'm still a bit uncartain about the burrs size (small 58mm) but in compare to my 10y old Ascaso i-steel grinder it MUST be better :) So, I've pulled a trigger.
Happy that you struck a good deal! Burr size theoretically can give more uniformity due to bigger grinding surface area and less heat, but practically it is quite negligible, hence the big praise of the DF54! Burr geometry on the other hand is a MUCH bigger variable. Hope you receive it safely soon and I will be very interested to hear your thoughts. It's time for you to make a review now :)
Hey there, I brew light roast mainly and it's around 20-25 when burr touches at 0. Since then I had to adjust the 0 past true zero because with the coarsest setting at 90 it's still not course enough for my v60. So now it's espresso 12-17, and 80-90 for v60.
Personally I indulge in brain-rot memes (probably a bit too much), figured our caffeinated dopamine-hungry brains might enjoy some of that too. Appreciate your positive feedback Daniel! More to come in the near future for sure
@@BeansNBanter Nothing but espresso, which I'm told the V3's do very well. It tastes good to me 😉 I only do the more classic "Italian-style" dark roast and milky drinks, though.
@@BeansNBanter I do like the brew I'm getting. It's very consistent. I've had grinders, in the past, which vary wildly in shot time, yet my puck prep is exemplary. As I'm sure is yours 👍
@@FatNorthernBigot Ohhh yes repeatability is a big thing, my previous grinder SGP used to drive me crazy on top of huge grind retention. Been switching back and forth from filter to espresso settings everyday at the moment and it's sooo reliable.
That's great, feel free to drop some more details so people that are interested would dm you. Just wondering if you are upgrading or some particular issues driving you away?

Whats your espresso range? Mine 25-30 (same grinder)

Earned a sub for the skibidi editing in the coffee space, this is novel and game changing

I have the same grinder. I must confess, I installed the SSP Lab Sweet V3 without trying the DLC burrs. I'm very happy with the results, though.
That's great to hear! What do you brew mainly and what do you think the burr excels at?
