thanks mate great vid, i fitted mine last week, sounds mental, the bike creeps forward while on the stand idling, i also shortened mine to finish flush with the holding strap and installed a 3 tip
I don't have a power commander yet, but I would eventually like to get one. I've heard others say you need one when you mod the exhaust, but here is my take on it. It is a Harley engine, think about how many Harleys are running on straight pipes with no other mods...The only power difference I've noticed is a decrease in engine breaking when downshifting. If you have any weekend wrenching experience at all, go for it...Its worth it.
What I've noticed with my Uly is a decrease in torque. When you change an open exhaust the combustion gets lean. Ive heard it can damage the engine and the best thing should be a new map. These are all things I've heard, but I have not prof of it
@epitelionew, I think this is basically what drummer would do if you sent him your muffler. I can't say for certain as I have never seen his work first hand. In pics and on his website fabrication skills do appear to be top notch to me though.
@jakewade187..It will backfire every now and then, but its not bad...I don't feel like it backfires any more than it used to though, its just louder. As for the heat, I have no idea, it really shouldn't make a difference. Nothing that I took out would have a cooling effect that I can think of.
@mailtoome1 The bike is completely stock other than this. I haven't had any issues with it yet. I have heard of others with this problem though, the only thing I can think of is that my bike may be a few years older than most that I've seen with issues after this mod. Maybe the older bikes are running some different tuning that take this mod better?
thanks so much for posting this, looking forward to the follow up vid. also do u need a power commander? Or anything like that? i have an 03 xb9s and would love a beefier sound.
Have you noticed a performance increase or decrease? I rode bone stock XB12X rental that would power wheelie in second and third, you had to let off the throttle or it would flip. Then I rode an 06 with a modded muffler, and it would not power wheelie even in first gear. I wonder if the pipe mods killled the torque as the bike is low miles and like new, runs fine, just not near as powerful as the stock rental I rode. What did you experience?

its a different motor 03 xb9r is the sportster motor I have that bike and it will not power wheelie but from 06 and up will.
Hey bud I have a buell and with your exhaust mod did you have to tune or dyno it or is it just stock with the pipe
The bike is completely stock other than the exhaust.
It still runs good or better cause I have a 2008 xb12r
And it sounds a whole lot louder
nice video.
