I think being the son of an NBA player just inevitably leads to everybody judge you negatively. No matter what he does, he’s a failure because he didn’t end up as good as his father. You talking about him only getting “a handful of D1 scholarships” as if that’s an underachievement. 97% of high school basketball players don’t get any scholarships to play anywhere, but since he’s D Wades son, he could get some D1 scholarships but still be considered a “failure”.
He bought part ownership of the Jazz so he can get his son drafted to their G-league affiliate. It's safe to say that he used his connections. Unfortunately, once there, he wasn't able to perform well so here we are now.
