I believe this show(Acolyte) will be better watched as a binge. They gotta fix the way they divide these shows up into episodes. Either binge drop all of them, or do a better job in the release plan.

I wonder if Qimir had allowed Mae to try on the helmet…i think he wanted osha all along.
Also, the whole Sol (alternate term for the sun/ Qimir (Qamar meaning in Arabic is moon) is part of that duality in the shows title and not for Osha/Mae

This was my favorite episode of The Acolyte. Watching Qimir's angle towards OSHA vs how he never even showed Mae has face was fascinating. I think the vast majority of the episode should have been Qimir and Osha. I'm most sure how much control Disney has over post production and specifically how the scenes are cut.

So I too have felt that this season is spinning its wheels at times too and then I thought about what we've seen.....everyone of the main characters in the show this season has had a crisis of conscience. Everyone at this point is struggling with or has been confronted by who they had been, who they are, and who they want to be moving forward. This season will end with more questions than answers with the hope to have all things addressed in the final season.
I think this season was the setup and had to dig into the psyche of who these people are to see what they may possibly become in the final season.

Yeah the entire Mae/Sol half was honestly just bad.
    1) Sol can’t sense that’s Mae?? I understand he’s emotionally distraught but she isn’t some kind of master of her thoughts and feelings.
Oh also she has a tattoo on her now visible forehead
    2) Why didn’t bazel just tell my guy Sol?? What is this trying to like kick her in the shin and run away while we play looney tunes music??
    3) The ONE legitimately engaging emotional moment with Sol looking at that screen and acting his entire face off gets undercut by some zany cartoon music cue that plays Bazel in right as Sol leaves and it was the most jarring emotional pivot I’ve ever felt

    • @LaCheeserie

On number two, Sol doesn’t know his language. Agree on the rest

We are seeing this in two shows right now... the penultimate seasons of The Bear and The Boys are giving us more character development than the story for a reason... the climax is coming and we need to feel for these characters no matter what will happen. As a WHOLE, these series will end up being phenomenal stories from start to finish.

I really liked episode 6 of the Acolyte (& I LOVED episode 5) but I TOTALLY get anyone saying 'WHAT IS THE MYSTERY/WHAT HAPPENED?' Imagine if the last 2 episodes were actually 2 & 3 and we got here in a hurry? Would it have worked better?

I agree with that. I don't have a problem with him criticizing things, but maybe he shouldn't always go first since that's going to set a certain tone for the rest of the episode. That being said, if anyone else goes first and expresses a positive opinion he tends to jump in and accuse them of lying anyway so idk

Charles has more hate for the bad actions of the black characters (Sage and A-Train) than he has for the non black characters who have done more and worse. But are we really surprised? Like Kimiko is your favorite character? We literally just found out she recruited kids into an army and then left them for dead. And Frenchie offed and a entire family and knowingly started sleeping with the son. Do the ridiculous clutch my pearls morals only apply to the black characters? It’s giving black person who doesn’t like black characters unless they’re squeaky clean perfect.

Agree with Steve here at end about the Acolyte. The mystery of who killed the witches is not the most interesting part of the show. I think the show has always been about the fall of the Jedi to the dark side. I think by the end we will see a few Jedi fall.

11:59 I commend Charles Holmes for not mincing words and calling both Biden and Trump as the evil genocidal war mongerers that they are. It's refreshing when Americans can look at themselves and their government and call out how evil a country we are.

A little surprised about your take on "The Boys" season 4. Is it the best season of the show? No, because it's coming off the strongest--season 3. I am wondering if that's why you're having less than enthused reactions by it.
Have you rewatched earlier seasons recently? Season 1 & 2 definitely had episodes that were side quests and less advancement of the plot. As for relating to current politics and controversies, I feel like it's the shows mo. After finishing season 1, I wasn't exactly sure how I felt about continuing the show because I was disgusted by the usage of A-train for every black stereotype including his final moments in that season (it was hard for me to seperate the parody from reality). The show is a mining ground for real life atrocities, American history and culture including Stormfront, the faith based conference referencing real religious sale gimmicks and phrases. I think it's interesting to suddenly find "The Boys" dipping into current politics and references as forced and lost. The end of season 3 hinted that this was the trajectory of the show. If you were writing the show what would you do differently? By no means, am denying that season 4 isn't flawed, but some of these "gripes" existed in previous seasons.
On a final note, the best part of this season is Sage. I can't wait to see how and who she ends up with by the finale.
