You appear to be the most serene person I've seen, irradiating calmness and intelligence. I like the non typical asmr experience. People should do this more often.
the sudden drama in the closed tap was fantastic. Wonderful editing. Self-doubt and criticism are a staple of art. We see not what we have done, but only what it could have been. It's a feeling you learn to live with. Your videos are sublime.
Thank you so much for this 🥹 that’s very true, I only ever see what could’ve been! It helps sometimes with improving but can keep art hidden away for years!
I just discovered your channel. I've been trying to balance my expectations with work and trying to write. I recently finished the first draft of a book (yay), but now, moving on to the next step and the next project feels daunting. I want nothing more than to begin, which is great, but it's opening my eyes to a kind of life I wasn't sure would be mine. I have wanted to write for years, but I've only ever worked on something from beginning to end recently. And that feeling of DONE and accomplishment is so blindingly intoxicating, I can't remember the last time I've wanted to commit more time into something that required so much from me. Now it's hard, living in both spaces of needs and wants. Your commentary and demeanor throughout your videos have reminded me to not get caught up in the dilemma and just let the enjoyment outshine that what-if's. Thank you :) I can't wait to watch more!
First of all, a massive well done on finishing your first draft!!! You’re in a teeny tiny percentage of people who actually get that out of an unfinished word doc! That’s super exciting :) You sound really excited about it, even if you’re feeling doubtful! If it helps, one thing I’m realising about my own art is that you truly have to believe in it (even if you don’t think it’s that good!). If you have an idea that you love, get it out there. The more you do, the more it evolves and the more people will see it and “normalise” to it too. With your book, read it to others like they’ve never read any other book before. Keep going, keep believing in your ideas and keep working on them! I wish you all the best with this and I’ll be in line to buy it too!
Loved this. Your exposition of life made me a little less wary of the mundaneness of mine. Thank you ❤ I'm trying to recover from burnout and PTSD after my PhD (hah all the acronyms), and art and creativity is the only thing that keep me motivated to get better, well that, and my lovely husband and friends. Hope life becomes as beautifully cosy as yours ❤
@@MongTonk thank you for your kindness 🫶I’m so sorry that you’ve experienced a horrible time and have to now recover. I find small, manageable steps each day help a lot and though the recovery takes time, you will get there with rest and doing small everyday things that you enjoy, like spending time with your husband and friends and doing art that nourishes you. It’s funny, I don’t see my life as cosy until I put these videos together. It’s nice to take a step back for a moment and see what it looks like from the outside in too 🥹
Thank you so much for sharing this thoughtful and calming video. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into creating and sharing it. I can’t say I fully understand your experience, but I can definitely relate. As someone working in architecture, I know how hard it is to balance a demanding job with a passion for creativity. It’s tough when time and financial pressures make it feel like there’s never enough room for the things you love. I also wanted to say that I completely get how you feel about your skill level. As artists, no matter the medium-whether it’s architecture, painting, music, or anything else-we’re always striving for more, always comparing ourselves to others, and often feeling like we’re not where we want to be. But what I’ve learned is that art isn’t just about skill; it’s about the experiences and emotions we bring to it. Our unique perspectives and personalities shine through in everything we create, even when we’re not “perfect.” And that’s what makes our work special. Your art is beautiful, and it’s clear you have so much potential. Don’t be too hard on yourself-every step forward, no matter how small, is progress. You don’t need to be like anyone else; your journey and your expression are uniquely yours, and that’s what makes it valuable. Please keep creating, even in those quiet moments. Your art is a reflection of who you are, and that’s what matters most. Take care, and thank you again for sharing your journey with us. ❤
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and encouraging comment 🥹 I’m very grateful to you sharing your experience in architecture too! It seems like we will never be quite satisfied enough with what we make 😂 and I’ll have to learn to live with it! But it’s very encouraging to hear that even professionals feel that doubt, despite building incredible structures! Thank you again for your kindness 🥹 and you’re very right - who you are shines through what you make!
I just stumbled upon your video and im so glad this was recommended to me! I love your style and the calming nature of this. When i checked the views as I liked and subscribed I was surprised considering the quality and aura that you have. More people will def be drawn to you if you keep going (even if that is not your goal or concern) as you seem to have a knack for not only art but producing videos as well. Thank you for creating and sharing!
I’d been feeling quite insecure about my videos recently as I’m still new here and don’t have a clear idea of what I’m doing, so you can imagine reading your comment really boosted my morale I’m so very grateful! 🙏 thank you so much for this and your support for a stranger (me) online! 🥹 it made a huge difference
We tend to be our own hardest critics. For what it's worth from a stranger on the internet, I do see your improvement in your art and its beautiful to be a witness to it 😊. Also seems like Lily loves the camera
Completely unrelated, but would you mind sharing what bag you're using at 07:54 ? I'm looking for a messenger type bag for my laptop and sketchbook and I think something like yours would work (plus it looks nice). Thank you!
Of course! However, I’m very sorry I picked it up in a charity shop (Goodwill) on a trip in the US a few years ago! It doesn’t have a tag inside, so I do think it’s quite old 😂 However, if you’re UK or US based, I do see these sorts of bags quite often in secondhand shops (and for much cheaper than if they were new - mine was roughly $20). I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help with this!

I really enjoyed this style for a session. Very relaxing and tingle inducing. I hope you film more for us! Cheers
