  • As the first female pro go-kart drivers in the UAE, sisters Amna and Hamda Al Qubaisi are breaking barriers, busting myths and beating the boys. Inspired by their father-pro racer Khaled Al Qubaisi-the girls decided to get behind the wheel themselves. Now, at 17 and 15 years old respectively, they’re making history and winning championships.

I give props to that dad for supporting his daughters so much. I'm sure there are people in his country who hate these young ladies for what they're doing and yet they are still being brave and great examples to other men, women and families!

mariam alhosany I’m very glad that you support them. But watch the video again. Their dad even says “they’re breaking down barriers”. Those barriers wouldn’t be there if everyone approved of female racers. It’s good you’re proud of them though. I am too. 👍🏽

@@you.got.gapped.racing44 it’s ok to be mad man. I’m no one. I live in a different country and I know women have a hard time getting into mens sports here as well. I wasn’t saying anything against the Emirates or it’s people. Just that a man supporting his daughters pursuing their dreams should be supported and honored. It sounds like you’re passionate about your country and people. I wasn’t meaning to offend them. There’s terrible men in every land.

It's really awful and extremely racist to have preconceived notions about certain people just because they're different from you in terms of race, upbringing, or religion. I'm pretty sure that Amna and Hamda don't expect or want praise from someone like you. Typical white person behavior I’m not surprised.

they seem like a very genuine and personable family given their obviously wealthy background. i sense no snobbiness from the girls nor the parents. (usually either of them or the whole family just start getting into their heads when they achieve feats like this). their humbleness will take them a great way and push the boundaries even further

  • @Moontess

The girls are definitely breaking barriers with their skills, determination and passion for their sport, but I really think the mentality for barrier-breaking started within their family with their wonderfully supportive parents.

The sister of my boyfriend just won the ferrari challenge last weekend. She was the first woman to do this and this after just being in that kind of race for a few races (she was Formel 3 before). She got a contract now; ferrari will take her for 3 years and take the costs for racing. This is big, because a ferrari cockpit is millions and all the other stuff surrounding races is expensive, too.

Great video, respect to the girls and their parents. Something kind of unrelated, but why do people always take pictures with the dog filter? I get that it slims your face down so you might think you look better, but these girls are already pretty, the dog filter is really not necessary. Random rant over.

This does show the importance of having parents in racing to become successful, especially in karting. I've been racing karts competitively for a few years now, but due to a lack of local tracks and parents not willing to travel to races, I've been unable to achieve much. Don't get my wrong, these are two impressive drivers, but without supportive parents like they have they would be nowhere.

Aidan Johnson yepp... The sister of my bf won the ferrari challenge last weekend. She drove formel 3 before and also kart. But without money or the name, you won't get far. I find it very cool, but considering how much this sport costs, it always leaves you wondering if the ones on the top are really the best ones or if there would be better ones who just didn't have the money or the name

These kids aren't working for what they have there dad gets it for them. to become great at karting you need to work for what you have example I started karting at the age of 15 and I saved all my money and sold my drumkit and my watch that my grandfather gave to me before he died. My dad also was every helpful by puting his money into it all that just to start karting and I have worked very hard and I'm now in the Australian karting championship

I really don’t like it when they focus too much on them being the first female to do whatever, the fact that they are both amarati and female is nice but it is cool just to see them be good racers. You can detract from the essence of the event itself by focusing too much on those types of things. All I care about is them being good racers, the rest is all filler.
