I’ve smoked with ash wood and thought it smelled disgusting! I’m trying to find a wood supplier everyone I talk to says they have a mixture of hard woods including oak, maple, apple, and ash. I might just go for it lol I’m tired of paying 20$ for a small bag of splits.
@@ignoranceisnotatrend4669 Great question, it’s OK to use and blend it with some thing. I felt like an idiot using it as long as I did after I found out but honestly it’s not toxic or anything. Just doesn’t taste like Hickory lol!
@@SmokerBuilder i just now threw it all in the trash ,but first i checked to see if my neighbor could use it he said he has plenty, so I didn't want anything else to do with it so in the trash it went, and honestly I've done a brisket cook and did use a few pieces at the time thinking it was oak but I just wanted piece of mind. 👍🏽👍🏽
Picture this is great app but j strongly recommend to at least take 3 pictures from different angles… because sometimes the app can get it wrong…. Other than that it’s a great app

Great to see you back. What happened to your coffee cup?
haha, I forgot it at home so I actually had to get a coffee from my local favorite shop called the Giddy Goat in Rolla, MO
You should head to Q in the Lou and see if some of those pit masters would be willing to sit down for an interview.
I’ve cooked with Ash does actually really good
it aint bad! it does yield a lot of ash (lol I guess that's why they called it that?) but it cooks! you can use it to blend other woods no problem.
@@SmokerBuilder what would you recommend, a guy sold me some oak but it turned out to be ash 😔😔😔😔
