Overhead Press - Band & Wall Cues

  • Start by standing with your back against a wall. There should be enough room for your arms to extend overhead fully. Place your feet a slight bit away from the wall, step onto a part of a long band.
    Begin with your hands in the front rack position, then press your arms overhead without changing your back contact on the wall. You should be able to take deep breaths here, and remain organized as you reach overhead. Be aware of your possible tendencies to arch, or stick your head out as you press overhead. It might feel awkward at first, but the more repetitions you perform of this organized overhead pressing, the more natural it will feel!
    Aim for a light-moderate resistance band, 15-20 reps overhead. 3 sets.
