Wall Press Great for Shoulder Development (Very Safe on Shoulders)

  • This wall press exercise is amazing for overall anterior shoulder development, and maybe even some lower traps if you lean into a bit at the end. You could also extend your arms after lockout overhead and even engage your serratus. If you have never done this wall shoulder press before you are in for a treat. Just make sure you use some rubber bumper plates as you don't want to damage the wall.

      not only back but also biceps, triceps and shoulders she must be a hard worker/train for sure , but this without PEDS ? not happening. easy come, easy go. and that is the least of the problems. You can get strong without PEDS, but you will not look like this.

    Love the yo-yo tricks! I've never been able to yo-yo like that! Kids got talent I'll bet he's strong like his dad when he gets a little older. I've got to try the wall press.

    This exercise has been my fav shoulder press variation , my shoulder grew crazy when i started doing these

    I've done this by pressing the barbell into the squat rack posts. When you're done the set just guide the bar down to the j cup.

      How does it rotate since the plates aren't aligned with the posts? Do you just rotate the bar in your grip?

    Love doing these! Old school Arnold exercises... when I do these in the gym people look at me funny but the proof is in the pudding when your traps/shoulders get bigger.

    These are my go-to....i did it by mistake with light weight and it felt good so i just kept doing it two years later and my shoulders look emaculate and feel great💯

      @@Stekaren yes very safe and have had no problems. Just keep the weight down. I also do the Viking press and the one arm press with the landmine attachment

I've had problems with my right shoulder/biceps for 5 years since 2017. im slowly getting back. the only problems im facing right now is press exercises like shoulder press and i still can't train my chest pain free (both press and flyes variations). Im working so much on static stretch and shoulder mobility and finding angles that my shoulders can benefit from, where the scapula is moving free like standing is much better for the scapula than standing. thank you so much for replying so fast brother peace

    Ive been doin meadows exercises past few weeks.

    John, I tried your barbell wall press & it will be one of my favorite barbell overhead press because I have a rotator cuff issue on one side & I felt no pain performing this exercise. I'm starting out with a lighter weight but not too far from what I normally do but pain free, I think after a few weeks I be doing my regular weight this way. You can't ask for anything more than to exercise without the pain the same way you can normally do, kudos to you. P.S. your Meadow's row is one of my regular routines for lats....

    Always been told not to do behind the neck anything. But as a 58 year old who is beginning to hunch over permanently, behind the neck presses especially in the full squat position are the ultimate test for shoulder mobility, Do not wait until you are in your fifties, at least do them light to maintain mobility, and do not ignore overhead press in general in favor of bench press.

    Right on! Great idea. I’m implementing reverse hack squat shoulder press it’s very similar, easy on the rotator and a great delt activation. (Great back development Ivana 👌 best of luck)

    Save the wall, use a landmine. Just wanted to say that one of my favorite back exercises is the Meadow's row on the landmine. That being said, it motivated me to incorporate more landmine workouts. Standing one arm shoulder press really works the delts, traps and core.

    This is basically something like a Viking Press. There are Viking Press Attachments to use in a Squat Rack, there is a machine called Viking Press but it is more a strongman exercise and thus not widely known (I'm lucky my gym has it and do this exercise 3x times a week just because it feels awesome).
    You could theoretically do this exercise too with a barbell where one of its end is anchored to the ground (like for landmine exercises or back pull exercise) and get an attachment for the barbell so you can do the shoulder exercise as depicted. You would have to either squat down or sit on a bench to fully be capable of doing this exercise. Or if you're a small person it would work too. Me as a 2 meter "giant" I would end up prolly doing upper chest exercise doing it..

    i tried these last week and gonna continue with them tomorrow. they felt good. however we have 10 kgs as the lightest on those big plates. that becomes a bit heavy for me so i have to do it with smaller plates with 5 kgs, still works though.

    First. I do these with a Smith machine. I prefer the free barbell press sometimes, but this variation lets me more easily get quality volume.

    You can probably get a similar feel by overhead pressing in an angled bar smith machine by standing facing away from the mirrors so the bar leads out in front you as you press it up.

    That shoulder press against the wall. Its like doing reverse press on the hammer strength shoulder machine, same principle. Look up the video on here TH-cam.
