The most tragic character story in the whole franchise tbh. Realizing that your true salvation only lies in sacrificing your own life... very heavy for a game for such a young demographic. But that's what makes Adventure so special. I think like many people I didn't realize until I was older how heavy the topics in the story were. They really walked a thin line with dealing with some serious topics while not overstraining the minds of young children and Gamma's story is the perfect example for this.
@@urielpuertas9899 Shadow went through terrible stuff, but at the end of the day, he survived. @Delirious My recommendation, then: get a Nintendo Gamecube, (or a Wii) get the game Sonic Mega Collection, and play through the games Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic & Knuckles. You'll probably get a better understanding of the Sonic the Hedgehog games storyline. Eggman originally made his robots by trapping animal slaves in them. Sonic destroyed them to free his animal friends. It really wasn't until Sonic Heroes that Eggman's robots stopped having animals power them.
This is my point of view: Gamma ending isn't bad, but all the opposite. His objective was to rescue his friends trapped inside the robots (he realized the truth after seeing the blue birdie). In order to do that, he had to destroy all the robots. When both him and beta got destroyed while fighting against each other, the two birds were reunited, so it's a win-win.

None of Gamma's emotions are his, it's the bird regaining control not the robot developing emotion. By being destroyed Gamma, the bird, was free. And the bird is Gamma.
If none of his emotions are his, and he only started feeling after seeing Amy's bird - why did he react to Beta getting dismembered? If E-Series had no personality of their own, why did Delta look at him like that at 13:47 ? And when Tikal gave Gamma the vision - why bring the metal husk into it?

You don't see Amy brought to the flashback without her clothing do you?
The story makes way more sense if Gamma is a robot, and is sepparate entity from the bird: First of all, other E-100 robots clearly have personalities. Beta making puppy-eyes at Robotnik to let him onto the ship, them arguing over who got the right frog, Delta turning to Gamma when he was beamed away - it makes total sense for Gamma to have a personality of his own that could be influenced by the bird inside him, rather than the bird being the only one in control. This whole interaction: "All you worthless hunks of junk, begone!" => Delta looking at him as he's beamed off => "Why try to save that which is useless to you?" => "Why do you help me?" - "I told you we'd be friends the next time we met" => "E-Series... friends... must save..." Also, Tikal's flashback, and her talking about small creatures not being able to live peacefuly without the help of a powerful entity, how the major conflict could've been avoided had her father's feelings been open - makes way more sense if she's talking to a robot, who has emotions and would later go on to resque others, rather than a bird in a mech suit, who probably would've done it anyway. That pause when he lists off the remaining units and names himself. He would only pause like that if he was a self-aware robot, and knew that the only way to save the animal inside him was for him to die. A bird wouldn't care.
Boy, it really sucks to be Gamma. He was built to serve Robotnik's demands, namely capturing birds and imprisoning animals. His mere existence serves evil. A robot can change its programming and grow emotions, but it can't really change the purpose of its existence. Since Gamma is a weapon of mass destruction, Gamma's mere existence endangers other people's lives and well-being. So, the only way he can truly redeem himself from evil is by self-destruction. He freed the last bird remaining. Plus, by blowing himself up, he can't be used for immoral goals anymore. Thus, Gamma is the only character in the game that can't win in the end... Sega and Sonic Team were a lot cooler back then.
Gamma is easily my favorite character in the entire franchise. Does anyone feel like Gamma's story ended up a bit cut down due to the rushed release? I still don’t understand why Dr. Robotnik didn’t include Beta as part of the E series crew aboard the Egg Carrier with Gamma and his brethren. Keep in mind that Dr. Robotnik even had time to build 3 other E series robots and they all got aboard the Egg Carrier, but not the first robot in the series. In Sonic X, I believed the purple E series robot was replaced with Beta. Here is how the intro of Gamma’s story should play out, assuming that Gamma and Beta didn’t realize they were birds inside the robot bodies: Robotnik praises Gamma for completing the target practice level faster than Beta and that in turn caused Beta to become jealous and fight Gamma. Gamma wins and Robotnik would say the Beta was defective and took Beta to the Egg Carrier for special repair. Maybe if Sonic Team would make a reboot of Adventure 1, they would take that idea into consideration.
You learn quite abit about Eggman through Gamma's time in his Servitude. Eggman only Values Success and any failure goes Brutally Punished as seen with the other E-Series. 103-105 are literally stripped of rank and turned into Common Badniks. And Beta is completely Remodeled. You'd think Eggman would treat his Machines with the Utmost Respect...You'd be horribly Wrong. Unless your Names Metal Sonic.

Why?
@@keatonendler8202 Because using Gamma, you can accidentally shoot them
Poor gamma he was a true hero
10:41 [humming intensifies]
RIP GAMMA😢 you shall be missed
10:45 the singing Chaos remind me of the singing Clefairy on Mt. Moon in the pokemon anime.
I really loved this game back in the day, I must have spend hundreds of hours on it.
Only the Sonic the Hedgehog Series can make something as unrelatable to people as a robot be the most sympathetic character in a game.
most emotional\drama ending in sonic game series
well thats tragic
I think everyone at 52:10 thought he was just gone shake it off. Like naw this ma boi he can’t... then that piano cue hits yards asf 😭
Actually he could auto-recover but he didn't because he realized he had a bird inside him and needed to be destroyed like the rest of the E-100 series 😢
17:58 Bird is too cute must RELEASE
11:26 Dont go any closer!
If it was me there instead: I'm a tax payer, im entitled to these events.
I love how passive this playthrough is played.
It is just the first actual 3D canon sonic game. You cant expect it to be perfect.
E-103 Delta E-104 Epsilon Rescue Misson Accomplished, E-105 Zeta E-101 Beta Location Unknown, Prehaps, Aboard The Egg Carrier!
If you unlock Gamma before Big, the way to unlock the latter is, like with Big unlocking Gamma, is finishing Emerald Coast.
E-102 Gamma > E-123 Omega
25:24 Wow, Gamma... :/
Rebel Fleet Trooper (insert LEGO yoda death sound here)
Literally 11 seconds after gamma was gonna save it’s brothers
Amy:your not like they other robots huh.
E-102 code name:gamma:well yeah I am a red robot,I am red,I am cool,I am the smartest and I am robotics favorite
when gamma came back from Chao land the other robots were talking.
All systems full power
25:24
I FELT THAT LOL 😂
i hope somehow gamma returns in the sonic movies that would be nice
Is it me or did I just notice E-101 Beta MK2 fire nuclear powered Hadoukens at 48:46
I was very sad when gamma died at the end
6:46 - FORESHADOWING! HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT, OBAMA?
If E-102 Gamma Hadn't died, it would have been the best!
His death is part of what makes his story so beautiful. It would lose its impact if he never completed his mission by allowing himself to be destroyed.
It would have been cool if the epilogue showed Tails fixing up Gamma and replacing the bird in his power core with a Chaos Emerald or something.
I really love this trope that eggman creates more human robots than real war machinery
15:39
Is one of the funniest moments in the game for me
The best story ever why did the man have to die like that it made me cry so hard😭😭
I salute you e 102 gamma
24:32 Gotta make your own choices now, Gamma.
E-102 DAMNA! THAT WAS SAD!
E-Series... Friends. Must kill- I mean save
IN SONIC X GAMMA KILLS HIS FRIENDS
+KC Garcia never saw the anime. Except for the season nobody likes
Masterkoopa 627 he's trying to get the other birds escape the robot bodies
E-102 IS JUST GREAT IN SONIC ADVENTURE !!!!
E-102 gamma is one of my favorite characters
12:45 This frog's the one we want! No, here's the real one! My frog is the right one!
Poor gamma he was good robot
0:00 My favorite sonic e-series robot.
I loved this game as a kid
I can't stop laughing at 38:22...
My heart was destroyed like that monkey guard....
Final Egg, Emerald Coast, Windy Valley and Red Mountain are all part of "All 10 Sonic Action Stages!!!!".
50:35 - 52:45
This is why hunting season exist we lost a good one because of birds.
Did everyone really forget how amy helped him knew he was good? Dang...
50:04 beta: *seizure intensifies*
12:45
I love how it took me seeing this cutscene again for me to realize that these are the voices of Delta, Epsilon, and Zeta...
The question is, which one's which?
50:45 Imagine a First Person Shooter
"You're the second of my E-100 model series! Codename: Gamma!
Wrong name, master.
Nosehair.
@@i-999nosey6 Bah! I just thought that the quote he made was interesting, Nosey!
Cool Nosehair: Master registration = optional.
In conclusion, I don't have to obey your orders, Cool.
@@i-999nosey6 ...Okay I'm *sorry* but I am just trying to defend myself! Is that not okay with you, Nosey?
Turns out E-100 “zero” is α, and he’s definitely a lot different than the other E-series. He’s the one that chases Amy around.
*stage begins*
Gamma: so anyways I start blasting
