- Hello everyone!! My first cover I'm posting publicly. I'm sure there'll be s'more once I get PV's made for em. BUT I'M VERY PROUD OF THIS ONE!! I played through Sonic Adventure recently and fell in love with Gamma. Plus his theme SLAPS so I decided to make some lyrics and cover it with Chipspeech, which if you're unaware, is a VST plugin speech synthesizer. There's 12 voices that come with, all based off vintage synths. Go buy it right now. Plus there's lore.

I like how the subtitle for Omega's name glitches up when it's sung, like the prospect of meeting him _terrifies_ Gamma.
I'd imagine that things would be complicated between them. They fight on the same side, but one detests being a weapon while the other revels in being one.

Not to mention that Gamma never expressed any desire to harm Eggman where Omega wants nothing more than to turn his creator into bloody chunks. And that Gamma had intended to destroy the E-Series, and so he might be inclined to attack Omega based on that.
Beta mk 2 and Omega are practically the same. Ultimate machines to handle Sonic/Shadow in the worst case scenario. If you read the Archie Sonic Universe comics, Gamma would be essentially doomed either way.
A.) He fights Beta and dies in the process freeing the bird trapped inside of him as Beta was completely under Eggmans control
B.) He somehow survives/ignores Beta and eventually gets Eggmans attention that one of his bots went rouge and sends Omega to dispose of him whilst GUN sees Gamma as a potential asset seeing how Gamma had a soul in a way thanks to Amy which also helped Shadow stop Professor Gerald's plan of destroying the world. In this scenario, Gamma gives Omega his data/soul which might've set Omega against destroying all Eggman robots

That is the coldest line I've ever heard in Sonic lore given the context.

I mean technically Omega sort of became Gamma in the Archie universe since Gamma uploaded his memories to Omega before he was destroyed. Leading to Omega having his characteristic bloodlust combined with Gamma's kind soul.
I also headcanon that in the games Eggman used pieces of the destroyed Gamma, who he believed was the strongest and loyalist of his E series to build Omega which lead to the same thing happening.

@@supergamingdoggo9975 I believe Lambda was one of e-Series in the Archie comics. I doooon’t think he had much a prominent role compared to others, but I could be wrong.
On one hand, I miss Gamma and wish he didn’t die.
On the other, at least he didn’t get hit with the classic “we’re devolving our characters too their simplest traits” wave used on the entire cast.

I'm pretty sure if that happened they would keep making up new E-Series robots, since Gamma's main motive was to "save" his brethren. Although there would be no reason to do that since in the Sonic Lore, Eggman replaced all animal power with wisp power or chaos drives.

@@trailbreakertv8918 we did get an interesting death from Gamma in the Sonic Universe comics at least. Omega kills him but he manages to beam his programming into him just before Omega makes him go boom. So technically Gamma lives on in Omega.

That part gets me every time and causes my eyes to well up. It’s story was just another page in the Sonic saga, another one of Robotnik’s creations that somehow through a chance meeting earned a soul.

For me Gamma is more than just learning self-sacrifice. He also did what was suppose to be impossible. He created his own feelings and in a way a heart and soul that despite their dark enviroment turned into a good heart and soul. He became more human than his own creator.
A touching song about a machine that gave itself a soul. Miss you, Gamma.
Honestly, if Gamma never died in SA1, then I could've seen him being the power character on Team Rose instead of Big just because of how much Amy changed him. Hell, the story for the team even could've been changed to "Amy wants to chase after Sonic, Cream wants to find Chocola, and Gamma wants to find the bird that was inside of Beta (I would imagine the bird would stay with Gamma)".
And what if he met with omega maybe he will try to destory him like he did to his brothers so he can save the bird inside him

Back when I first played SA1, I had wondered what this "random" robot was doing as a playable character. When I unlocked Gamma, I thought, "oh cool, I get to be the bad guy!" but I had realized soon... that's not what he was there for. He was there to show that everyone can be better than what they're in life for, man {and machine, in this case}, as long as you can find the kindness in your heart to give them a chance. Gamma was given his chance... and he took it. To free his brothers from what they'd be doomed to, death at the hands of someone who doesn't even come close to understanding their pain, who's only in it to PROTECT... not to save. Gamma was a true hero. And in my heart, he will stay a hero.
If this doesn't make sense so you, that's perfectly fine. Just know, Gamma was an awesome character with the perfect story. Thank you so much for this cover, Hebitonetsu. Maybe we could get a "Crazy Robo" cover someday? A point of view song from Beta's perspective would be fantastic!
Oh, absolutely! Gamma's story is genuinely one of the best in the Sonic franchise as a whole, really looking at morals and sacrificing yourself for the greater good. Can't lie and say I didn't cry by the end of it ;--;

Yesterday, I was just looking on TH-cam to find Sonic Adventure DX missions and played the entire game again, especially E~102 Gamma and his story is always my favorite. When I wanted to hear Gamma’s song, I was surprised to see the original song lyrics of this song.
At first, a was worried of this song wasn't going to be good but, I was shocked in a good way. The robotic voice took me by surprise and worked with the theme. The song lyrics worked with Gamma’s sad story of him and his brothers of being unloved by Dr. Eggman and being abandoned. What I loved also was the song telling us of about the names and the images of the E~series robots. This song will always be my favorite original song cover of this character.
Also, can you redo the song again with the same lyrics with voice singers that resemble Gamma voice, Plz? Just out of curiosity.

Man, the more I listen to it, the more I realize that the lyrics tell the entire story of γ.
A Servant before him, a machine in the limelight / A mission asserted, crackling through all my code and soul: When e-102 was first made, he was a servant before Eggman, a machine capable of proving himself. He showed himself to Eggman to be capable, and was brought into the Egg Carrier as an elite robot. His one mission "crackles through all his code and soul", which is to obey Eggman. When he powers on, his screen crackles.
My endgame, to free those trapped within his grasp, yes that is my goal: By the endgame, his goal is indeed to free his siblings from Eggman's grasp.
A shred of emotion, or a regret in hindsight / A shift of perspective, realizing my imminent demise: E-102 γ walks into the wrong room and sees Beta - in hindsight, a mistake. But in the way γ takes a step backwards, and the tone in his voice, it's clear that he has a shred of fear. Beta is being dismantled, some parts scrapped, others replaced. Even if γ were to work perfectly, he would one day break down and be remodeled in such a way.
But I can't stop fighting now or face the feer deep within your eyes: This isn't enough to fully shake γ. He walks out, delivers a great "this is the wrong room." and continues on. He can't stare into Beta's singular eye, instead leaving.
Steadying your aim now, life is like a countdown til the last one falls / the shots ring out in the halls: E-102 γ's stages are shootups where you have three minutes (a countdown), and the timer only ends when the E-series robot is destroyed - the last one falls.
The mission runs through the night / wonder if I'll bask in the morning light: E-102 γ doesn't know if he'll make it to another day before he finishes his mission. And when the game ends, γ's in the sunlight.
Alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, lambda, omega: E-102 names his siblings that he's met, including some of those that he met in the Archie comics. His goal is to destroy their chassis and free the animals inside of them, but also liberating them from Eggman's control.
A servant no longer, a machine begun anew / a thought of her kindness guiding me through the wind and the pain: After meeting Amy and the Flickie, γ starts to gain free will. Her kindness towards the bird, and in helping protect γ from Sonic, gives him the drive to fight the others in his series.
My brothers, be still now, soon I'll come to free you and end your pain: E-102 γ's last three levels and final boss are against γ's brothers, and his desire is to free them from Eggman's control.
A shift of perspective and a corrupted worldview / broken by your master; why can't you see that it's killing you?!? ...You know that? But there's no thought, no heart, and there's nothing left of you: e-101 β mk. II, despite being ripped apart, reassembled, and covered in electrical static, is still loyal to Eggman. He still stands against γ, even though β has very little of his original body intact - no thought, no heart.
Circuits burning up, looks like we're out of luck / this battle nothing but blood and remorse / but wanting yours, hoping you would soon change: After defeating β, γ is destroyed as well. His true hope, especially in Sonic X, was to make β think independently, hoping he would soon change and think like him.
Amy, can't you see, this is the end for me / as I lay here staring down at the blue / I'll think of you, and life can turn another page: Shortly after γ explodes and the Flickie inside him is freed, the Flickie family is reunited, and the three birds fly down to Amy together at the end of her story. E-102's Flickie still follows her in the final story as well.
These lyrics are a work of love from someone who truly loves Gamma's story, and I can tell. Kudos to you.

Shoot, I only just now realized I spelled fear wrong, and if I edited it out I’d lose the heart, haha! That aside, Gamma is probably my favorite Sonic character, and seeing what’s practically a lyrical case study made my day as well. I haven’t been able to stop listening to this these last few days.
It's always a Lance of pain when I'm reminded Steve Brodie is dead. I don't know much about him, but I love what he did with Gamma.
Amy really made an impact on him. That's when he knew what he had to do.
Free his brothers by death and freeing the animals trapped in them.

I only found this song yesterday, yet I've listened to it to the point that I've memorized the lyrics because the amount of nostalgia this slammed me with was unreal, Gamma is without question my favorite Sonic character from the Adventure games, and quite possibly just in general out of the entire Sonic cast. I'm very excited for your future projects, this was an amazing adaptation to an already wonderful and emotionally-invoking song, incredible job!

I know people might not dig it, but I honestly can't picture a version of this song without the synthetic voice that would be nearly as emotionally resonant. It perfectly captures the fleeting bittersweet sorrow of an artificial life experiencing the last moments of its existence fully content yet slightly hesitant but ready for it to end. Not because it was ordered too, but because it did everything it could to leave the world a better place and returned the kindness shown to it that allowed them to turn another page and better themselves
It honestly astounds me how incredible a character they made with Gamma. His entire story is like it's own tragic short film and as much as I wish he'd have lived it's a perfect ending.
I've especially always loved how tragic it feels to fight Beta, Eggman himself told Gamma and the player that they were brothers, you had to watch Beta get torn apart and upgraded with nothing you could do, until finally you're forced to fight him to save him from his mechanical monstrosity of a prison. Not to mention the scene before where Gamma suddenly realizes he has to kill himself to complete his mission. UGH I love Gamma's story.
honestly one thing i really like about his story is how we get to see his entire lifespan, which really goes to show both his constant internal monologuing, but also his changing thoughts and morals as they happen

It’s been 24 years, (1998) but he’s still his heroism, this shows badniks have heart, not just to kill some 15 yr old hedgehog with a cool blue shade/color change, they can mercy kill there brothers, because he had a change of perspective, change of heat follow Amy’s kindness through the wind and the rain, Gamma shows that In this song, and I cried. Badniks are still animals inside the core of their hearts.

Yo at first I thought this was a little strange, but you synth’d the voice really well and the lyrics are phenomenal and impactful. Loved the art work and editing. The ending with voice and visual clips from the game is really awesome too!!

I absolutely love this. you're one of the 1st people I found that's actually Nose how to right good lyrics. In the end however I have one miner complaint,The chiptune voice Doesn't have enough Of a Annunciation to it,Figure out a way to make the vocals more audible and you are completely set by friend.Keep up the good work

damn i fucking cried like a baby by 3:40. This story is a masterpiece that deserves an award. A story about an emotionless, robot, a slave that manage to grow a heart to save the life inside not only his brothers but himself as well. I'm not the biggest fan of Amy, but if it weren't for her kindness, Gamma wouldn't have turned. Same for Shadow. You gotta respect her for at least that.
Gamma was my favorite character in that game. He had a pretty deep story for my young child brain. It had kind of an effect on me actually, as I grew.

This is amazing... Truly. It makes what is already a very sad story line, even better in my opinion. It has been over 5 years since I last played this game and over 10 since I had it and this story still gets to me. It is so nice to know that people still remember the classics and pay proper respect to it

As someone who repeatedly played through Sonic Adventure recently as a way to cope, after having experienced my sis fall to suicide and now seeing my brother in sleep deprived insanity, this hits deeper than I can adequately describe.

I am going to be honest, when I was young, I thought Gamma somehow leveled up to become Omega. Lolol
Same color palette, both rebellious E-100 series robots created by Eggman. I can see why you thought that. I'd like to see how they would react if Gamma and Omega met each other, like a Generations type of time bending, allowing the two to exist at the same time.

The synth voice you chose is honestly impossible for me to understand without reading along with the lyrics. Gamma is my favorite sonic character, I’m not joking I love this robot. the end of his story in sa1 is just heartbreaking. This theme means so much to me and the lyrics you chose just fit his story I love this theme. Not just because of the lyrics, it’s because of the direction it took and how it fit so well with his character.
Honestly, I really loved Gamma, and sometimes whenever I see Omega I get this melancholy feeling and Gamma's theme partially rings out in my head, very faintly.
As a kid when Omega first appeared I thought it was Gamma rebuilt in a new body until it was revealed that it was someone else entirely different that just looked similar. I feel like they made Omega look similar to Gamma on purpose since Eggman praised Gamma the most out of all the E-series bots since Gamma completed the most missions for Eggman and didn’t fail.
Before characters like shadow, blaze or silver, E-102 Gamma was pretty much the character whose story arc was the first time the sonic games ever dappled with a serious storyline for one of their characters. We pretty much see gamma’s entire life, from his birth to his death, and I’m glad that they canonically didn’t bring him back in future sonic games, his story works perfectly as a standalone one.
This is amazing. I really appreciate the thought that went into these lyrics as well as the effort that went into editing the Chipspeech itself.

I really love that type of covers, is awesome the lyrics, i wish in other moment, a cover of the battle against beta mkII (Crazy Robo) it's just epic
I had no idea what Chipspeech was before hearing this, so I didn't know what to expect. At first, I was taken aback by the sound of the vocal and thought they overshadowed the music far too much while feeling like it didn't really fit, though I understood that the intention was to make the voice sound like a robot similar to Gamma's. HOWEVER, something compelled me to listen to it again- and then again, and before I knew it, I fell in love with how the vocals sound. They were actually done very well, and the lyrics are such a fantastic reflection of Gamma's character and story. Also, on a minor note, I had no idea that the small bit of vocals present in the original song were saying "It's my pleasure. Ready to die." all this time, so I have to thank you for that! It's such a minor detail but it adds another layer to Gamma's character.
I remember Gamma's story making me sad when I was younger, but I don't think I felt the impact of his story nearly as hard back then. Now that I have a better understanding of both the story as well as my own emotions in general, this character stands out to me as the best character in the series.
Keep up the incredible work, and thank you for giving a fantastic character some well-needed love. RIP Steve Brodie, and Gamma too.

This is beautiful, Gamma is one of the best characters in the franchise, and I don't know why, but robots always have a really hard life in the Sonic universe
