Glad the video could help in a pinch! Dried clove can still be effective for soothing a toothache-just crush it a bit and apply directly to the affected area. Hope you feel better soon!
Rinsing the cloves after roasting helps remove any residual ash or impurities that may have accumulated during the roasting process, ensuring a cleaner oil. This step is optional, but it can enhance the quality of the final product. If you prefer to skip rinsing, just make sure the cloves are clean and dry before adding them to the oil. Have you made clove oil before? 😊
It's $10:00 for 10 ml. at the Chemist.I use mineral oil(parrafin) from Bunnings, (about $15 per litre) and an electric coffee grinder (about $20 at K Mart), to treat mould but I'm not sure about amounts... I'm trying 6 1/2 teaspoons of ground cloves to 1 litre of parrafin...leave for a week to prove...wish me luck. Chemist told me the mould won't come back.
I am very confused. You say to "toast" the cloves, then rinse, then dry, then crush while still warm from "boiling"? Please help me understand. I don't recall your saying to boil the cloves.
1. For every cup of oil you want to infuse, toast about 1/2 Tbsp. of cloves in a pan over medium heat. The volatile oils in the cloves are mobilized and simpler to extract when they are toasted. How many minutes of toasting? Thank you
To toast 1/2 tablespoon of cloves, you should aim for about 2 to 3 minutes over medium heat. Keep an eye on them and stir occasionally to prevent burning. You’ll know they’re ready when they become fragrant! 😊
My dentists wife loved the smell of the clove soap he washed his hands with (years ago). She nearly died because she killed all the bacteria on her body, good AND bad. Do not bath or shower with it.
While clove oil can be beneficial for the skin, it’s important to dilute it with a carrier oil before using it as a body cream to avoid irritation. Always do a patch test first to ensure your skin reacts well. Enjoy! 😊
Yes, you can substitute cooking oil for the olive oil. Cooking oils such as vegetable oil or sunflower oil can be used as alternatives to olive oil. The purpose of the oil is to extract the aromatic and beneficial compounds from the cloves, so using a different type of cooking oil should still achieve a similar result.
Hi! Thank you for mentioning. My apologies for not mentioning this in the video! Yes, you should strain the cloves after they have infused in the olive oil for the specified period of 2 weeks (or longer if you prefer a stronger flavor). By straining the clove-infused oil, you'll remove the solid cloves and any particles, leaving you with a clear and flavorful clove oil ready for use. Remember to use it within a month if stored outside the refrigerator To strain: 1. Place a sieve over a bowl or directly over the bottle or jar you plan to store the clove oil in. Line the sieve with a layer of cheesecloth. Cheesecloth helps to catch any solid particles, ensuring your clove oil is smooth and free of debris. 2. Carefully pour the infused olive oil through the cheesecloth-lined sieve. The sieve will catch the cloves and any sediment, allowing the clear infused oil to pass through. If you want to extract every bit of infused oil, you can gently press the cloves against the cheesecloth with a spoon or spatula to release any remaining oil. 3. Once strained, transfer the strained clove oil into a sterilized bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid. Make sure the container is also sterilized to ensure the oil stays fresh longer. 4. Store the clove oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If you want to prolong its shelf life, you can store it in the refrigerator, which can help maintain its freshness.
The homemade clove oil can generally last for about 1 to 2 months if stored in a cool, dark place. Just make sure to keep it in a sealed container to prevent oxidation. Always check for any changes in smell or appearance before using it, and if you're unsure, it’s best to make a fresh batch. 😊
Yes, you can buy clove oil for making your own perfume. Clove oil is available from various suppliers, including online retailers (like Amazon), health food stores, and some pharmacies. Just make sure it is pure essential clove oil.

Why do you have to rinse the cloves after roasting? Why can't you just add the oil to them as they are (with no rinsing)?

Parrafin? Isn't that what you burn in lamps and heaters? It is in Britain, maybe it's something else in the US?

Yeah and monkeys will come flying out of my butt😂
Bet they weren't down to your belly button like mine😢
