At least if the little shit came out, there’d be something that I could point to and say ‘look, he hasn’t lost his ENTIRE spine since John McCain passed away’ but I doubt it will happen. Even though everybody in Congress and most politically minded individuals happen to know. Does he honestly believe that people think he remained a bachelor to the age of 67 bc he’s picky? Even tho being married is one of the best ways to succeed in politics (if you’re as cynical as I am). He actually voted against same sex marriage and fought for a constitutional amendment in ‘06 to protect “the traditional institution of marriage”. He’s not only a spineless loser, but has been one for a long time.
Edit: And that’s a big difference he could make. A Republican who finally just comes out of the closet and says it’s the 21st century and he’s come to realize that things he said in the past were done out of fear. Bc of his many years in the military. Being gay doesn’t have to define you but neither should it be something of which to be ashamed. Like I said, his colleagues already know so suddenly making a fuss would be extremely hypocritical of them and would merely show them to be the nasty creatures that they are. And he’d be able to live his live freely, as opposed to in the shadows. Since it took all the rest of his moronic colleagues to allow Trump to get away with his horrific behavior and not just Graham, I could see being impressed with him taking that step, even if it took 67 years for him to do so. Like I said, it would be so much more meaningful (not to say it’s unhelpful for Democratic Party individuals to come out themselves) but to have a more conservative voice to add to the LGBTQ+ community would be so very useful. IMPO.
And yes, I am always impressed w Randy’s lyrics. Always.

we all have percieved things that a bad society tells is we should be “ashamed of”. that point out a deeper and nastier toxic element of culture. everybody does.

The subtle imagery there of the gop taking aim then the pics of the shootings was a cold right hook that I can appreciate.
I 'discovered' Randy a couple weeks ago, and I've been bingeing all his musical genius since then. Just caught up on all his videos yesterday, so I was so excited when I found out that this one came out today! Spot on, as always. Randy's music has been one of the very few things keeping me sane in today's political climate. Living in a red state, it's a relief to see that there are other people who think as I do.
I discovered Randy during the start of COVID-19 and feel the same way. I also discovered The Damage Report on TH-cam for my daily news and that's helpful in staying somewhat sane too. 🙃

Local newspaper (Plattsburgh, NY) had an editorial cartoon with "Thoughts and Prayers" as a broken record. This is right on.
Love it! I'm a Christian and I believe 100% in the power of prayer--and the need to pair prayer with here-and-now actions. I also believe that if you genuinely give a damn about kids being slaughtered; if you actually cared about gun safety, you'd do more than Tweet your "thoughts and prayers".

I've watched a lot of Randy Rainbow videos and this feels like the first time he's so angry he could cry. I live in a country with strict gun control and oddly we have almost no gun violence. We have guns, we are just very strict on who can actually own them and have laws on storage and usage. We can go to church, or mosque, or synagogue, or school, or night out and not even think about whether we will survive the day. Our children don't have to wear bulletproof backpacks and fall to their knees with their hands up as soon as they see a police officer. We once looked to America for leadership, now we look to America as an example of how not to run a country.

@@LS-ei7xk come live in the UK, most of Europe, Australia, New Zealand... You'd be surprised at how many European countries have a lot of guns yet rarely have gun problems. Look up Switzerland - they've got a similar gun count per capita as the USA. I can't ever remember a mass shooting there. Nobody would blame you for moving out of the chaos. (Though Switzerland is bloody expensive! Good chocs though lol.)
