TRUTH BOMB! "It takes less time to set it up and forget about it than it does to whine about it on various Reaper forums" Absolutely! Thank you for your most excellent video!
Great video, as always! Thank you man. One thought that wanders through my mind for some days now - maybe you can help me with that... Can you think of an efficient way to use the normal keys of the keyboard as modifiers too? Like for example, when you hold the "v" key and move the mousewheel you change track volume, when holding "p" while mouswheeling around, changing pan and so on. I can see several things that will make this complicated to achieve, but I think it would be tremendously useful in many contexts. That's why I can't stop thinking about it...
Hi again thanks for all these tips , these are great! I did not know you had made scripts, I just added them now and got this from 1 of the scripts, the rest installed fine. seperate audio from selected video item script , HTTP response code said error (22): The requested URL returned error: 404 I kind of want that script, it sounds very useful! I like that you made freeze track scripts with icons that add to the tracks, i'm going to use those all the time I have a strange question as well. For some reason when I had changed my fonts in a streamelements overlay it changed the font in reaper on some of the plugins too, I set the font back to what it was in Streamelements but the weird font is still in reaper lol only on plugins that need a default font, where do you change that setting, I cannot seem to find anything on that anywhere.
Heyy! Thanks for letting me know about the error. Will look into it asap. The streamelements thing is very strange! I used to use it myself also but never ran into this. I know you change reaper fonts from the reaper.ini file (open with text editor, search for font) but I dunno how that could've changed on its own. Jon Tidey (reaper blog) would be the expert on this stuff. If you're on our discord shoot him a message!
Hi Ari.. you mentioned in a video once.. you've worked with a G600 mouse, which i own too.. does the same mouse work on a M1 mac os... cos its unclear having googled it whether people have found a workaround... or not!! secondly the content you make are like little gems!! and one last final.. question... have you ever used the rackfx script made by eugen??(in reapack) (there is a fix for it on the forums).. its something ive only just discovered!! and a excellent script for those who experiment with FX plugins
Heyy! Not sure about M1s cuz I still have a 2018 mac mini, but even here the software is definitely a little bit iffy and really terrible support from Logitech which is discouraging. I got the Logitech Command Center app instead of what comes with G600 and that works better! I have seen rackFx yes. I think it's cool but I kinda don't have the space for it! Definitely nice for a mix though :)
@@IDDQDSound heya Ari, unsure if you still utilise the g600 mouse... but i recently found out it works with the m1, however you cannot configure it on the M1. So by using a working logitech gaming software application where you can assign all the buttons etc.... you basically configure the "on-board memory" mouse options inside the working application... then you can just disconnect the mouse and plug it directly into the m1... and it will use the onboard memory configuration, without any need to download logitech... as the logitech software is not known to work, hence this workaround!
You're a genius man!✌ Thank you so much for the video. Do you know a way to adjust faders by "some modifiers + mousewheel" and not just by mousewheel? Because it is so hard to scroll this way, and we should always be careful. On the other hand, adjusting faders by mousewheel is much faster, fun, and similar to real knobs. Any solution?
Hey! Yeah you can do it! Turn off that option in preferences. Then find 'set volume for track under mouse (osc/cc only) and then assign the shortcut for that to modifier + mousewheel :)
@@IDDQDSound Thank you so much! But I just found this : "Track: Set volume for selected tracks (MIDI CC/OSC only)". And it is not the same. it works just when track is selected ,and works only for volume knob and not other faders.
@@misaanofficial ahhhh sooo one thing you can do, is make a custom action: select track under mouse Track: Set volume for selected tracks That'll work but yeah not for every fader :(
Thanks for the tutorial. The custom actions work for me in the regular project view, however in MIDI the same mousewheel actions are still stuck in their default setting. Please help.
Hi! Yes you have to set them separately for midi, just open action list, on the top right choose MIDI Editor, and look for actions of the same name. It's a bit annoying but set up once and you're good forever :)
Hi, I’d like to automate everything by a hardware controller. Is it possible to automate every parameter by using a single fader Faderport? How to assign a parameter to the fader? Thanks and greets
Hey Marek. It's possible for sure. I personally never owned a faderport, but I'd recommend you look at programs like CSI, Realearn and Driven by Moss. I know lots of reaper users do use this so you will find templates etc to help you get started.
Unfortunately not easily! You have to go preferences>Audio>Mute/solo and it will show the level there but you'd have to keep opening that. Each notch of the mousewheel adjusts it by 0.6dB if that helps :)
@@IDDQDSound That's unfortunate. I use this feature with a knob on a controller, but the knob has no haptic feedback. Thanks so much for the reply though!

@@IDDQDSound i know, but i'm talkin' about meters itself. I mean when i play the track and start mixing with faders i don't wanna see the meters because I don't want visual distractions when mixing. But now i change the color of the meters to the same color of mixer background and make theme with it.

That sounds like a great idea! Not natively possible but can be scripted with python!
Right now the closest thing to that would be reaconsole.
Thank you so much for this! I can not find the action "move edit cursor to next/ previous measure." Did it get a new name?
Thanks. I have a mouse with a horizontal mouse wheel and a vertical which I love now I'm used to it.
