      Just an opinion here,
Have any of you given thought that maybe these children want to work? If they are immigrants, they don't know fluent English, might have little to no education, and there might not be any other jobs that would hire them. These kids might want to earn money to send back home or provide for the rest of their family. It might seem odd here in the US, but in other countries, kids have to start working at a very early age, such as 11-12 yrs. Kids in the South American countries aren't as privileged as we are in the US. I'm not stating that it's right or legal. It's just the sad and unfortunate real truth.
      Just a thought.

I’ve always said immigration problems are handled by blaming the immigrants but the enemy is the employers that hire them illegally without any government recourse. While there is demand there will be demand for people to work illegal in the US. Same with drugs while there is demand there will be supplies. It needs to handled by both sides of the problem. The company needs to be shut down and have stiff fines where it hurts the CEO and owners.

I find it VERY difficult to believe the corporations that own these slaughterhouses, like JBS and TYSON are not aware of these practices, since they are not new. It's their plants, their facilities, the night shift management team or the security team should have informed higher-ups about what is going on at the plants, and even if they didn't they have security cameras all over the plants. They have to go after the whole chain of command, not just after the weakest link.

"Despicable!" ...? Realistically, that's just how the capitalist system works today and has worked since the "labour theory of value" was discarded as too non-profitable by the bourgeoisie. That's not going to change any as the government (the branch of capitalism that makes all the laws) is controlled by oligarchs who own everything. Anything the 98% "own" has been bought on the installment plan and is simply debt. Even a dozen eggs has become "the new caviar" as the price skyrockets. And we elect a president who -- like the children working in the slaughterhouse -- is performing like he's in his second childhood. Go figure!

As I understand the term a coyote is someone who brings people to the US from the southern border for a fee. You're saying that there are coyotes who offer to bring people over, house them, and find them a job to pay off the fee. In that situation people are living in impoverished circumstances and they have an opportunity to come to the United States and have food, work, income, and a place to stay but it may take them months to a year to pay back the coyote. As a former high school teacher, I had students who had part time jobs. But these kids didn't work full-time overnight shifts. At most, they worked 3 hours per shift on four days of the week, with at least one weekend night, plus 2 or 3 other weekday shifts. State laws regarding child labor were in place and were strictly applied and followed, with all forms signed by parents, students, and employers. If grades started to drop, meetings with the students and parents were held with the teacher and counselor in attendance. They couldn't work if they weren't able to keep up their grades.
The practices and actions of the company cited in this vid are criminal. Shame on them and their greed. I hope they're investigated and held to account. These young kids need to go home after school and do their homework, and then go to bed at a reasonable hour so that they're able to go to school the next day and participate in their daytime classes. They need their education - not a rigorous and grueling work schedule.
