another major aspect of katseye's marketing strategy is the truly 'global' promotional efforts. they promoted in japan, korea, the Philippines and the US. they've done a mixture of traditional media (tv, radio, magazines) and modern media promotions (tiktok/ig, youtube shows/interviews). furthermore, for each market, they tailor the media approaches in accordance to cultural relevance. for example, in the US and philippines, they did a mall show, in japan and korea, they did music shows. another thing is that they go to other artists' concerts or movie premieres which is a promotional technique common in the US. they dipped into the fashion world with a coach collab and this strategy seems to be common for kpop groups from big companies. they are performing soon on MAMA and Jingleball. they also listen to fans' input and deliver (such as the girls doing tiktoks that fans suggest, or their team dressing the girls up as winx club characters for halloween just like the fans suggested). plus, the members seem to have a level of control over their own media presence. all in all. every marketing decision and investment seems to have payed off for katesye. i think they are indeed setting the standard for future kpop-inspired groups

Yet this girls have no talent to their no work ethic...vcha has more talent than this group can ever have ...the only hybe did right was their Managment ..
I think part of the issue is JYP picked girls for a concept for a demographic that doesn’t really exist in America anymore. Even like young teens don’t really listen to that type of music anymore that VCHA is producing. Like yes, I enjoy VCHA’s music and I prefer it over katseye but I just like the more upbeat style of their music and I think Only One was their best but besides that some of them are a little too childish for me to get behind. I think if JYP picked older girls that could fit a more Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia, or Taylor Swift concept that is popular among teenage girls right now I think they would be more successful.
Vcha feels very rushed and unfocused and this is all on JYP/JYPE. The girls of Vcha are very capable and willing, I just feel JYP doesn't know what he wants to do with them. Katseye feels more secure and well thought out. Even down to the looks/brand.
As much more of a VCHA fan, I think that JYP ought to team up with Disney for performing at Disneyland (around the world) and on the Disney channel. They are a perfect fit. Otherwise I’m not sure how they can grow their fanbase.
Disney has a strong longstanding relationship with HYBE, probably not exclusive but it could be a hard sell. Netflix too, I do think that might be an easier sell though. IMO. I do agree with your thought train though. Something different and out of the box.
The Disney Channel is kind of on its last legs right now, with a massive decrease in viewers, so I don't think that'd be the best thing for VCHA. Maybe a doc on D+ would be better
The sad part is I feel like both the groups could be successful. It’s just that JYP entertainment is not promoting.Vcha that well because they’re giving off a teen vibe which most kids in the US don’t listen to that type of music. I’ve been a fan since their debut. I’m a fan of both groups and it’s so sad because they are so talented but JYP entertainment I feel like it’s wasting your talents and I’m saying entertainment because people keep forgetting that JYP the person is no longer the CEO of JYP entertainment vcha who was always posting on social media, especially TikTok, but all of a sudden they stopped for months now and I feel like if they were to still post, they would still have a Phan base just be waiting for their come back to happen but because there’s been radio silence, we’re all just worried and that entertainment agencies not saying anything about them. Katseye i’ve been there from the very beginning. I voted on most the members in the group at one point so it’s like seeing them grow so much in this short amount of time I’m honestly so happy and somewhat proud in a way of them because they worked so hard despite everything that happened so it’s kind of disheartening. Seeing people compare the two groups when they’re both talented when honestly it just comes down to how they’re being promoted.
Sorry but I only know Katseye, never heard of VCha til now. I’m obsessed with Katseye diversity and they’re all lovely, gorgeous, and multitalented ladies!
Katseye is definitely set for success if the girls keep getting along with each other and their egos don’t grow too big for the group like what happened with NewJeans

I honestly something that has helped Katseye stay relevant between releases/performances is their social media. The appear to have more control over everything they post, which makes them seem extremely relatable or approachable. Social media accounts for traditional idols (except for some exceptions and soloists) are more curated by the company and can feel more distant in some ways.
I think a big difference is that yeah Katseye is part of Hybe they are based in LA and are mostly under the American label versus Vcha being in a Korean company
I think for Vcha, there is a lot of things that went wrong. 1st is the diversity. 2nd, Their song is mid. 3rd, the group had no sense of fashion. 4th, no-one stands out. The first time I saw VCHA, I thought they were another version of KAACHI so I never clicked on them. It wasn't until I kept seeing the KATSEYE comparison that I finally checked them out. I checked out the show A2K and I was very disappointed with the line up. Everyone was so young and very much not diverse. For their concept I feel like they should have gone with something dark like teenage rebellion, punk, Ally and Aj, or Avril Lavigne. The outfits they had on were things I could find in my closet. When I look at Katseye, I'm always impressed by the fits and style. And please, why did Kaylee debut? In the show A2K I could tell she wasn't mentally ready to debut. I saw Kaylee's potential but she was way too young. When she was explaining to JYP why she choose an Adele song to sing, her response was very telling. A2k should have been like Dream Academy where the fan could vote, that would have made it more engaging.
thank you. we’re currently pausing the rankings as we're expanding into exciting new developments in K-pop. it’s not the end, just a temporary hold as we work on new things. we’re excited for what’s ahead and will keep you updated. appreciate your understanding!
I think the problem with Vcha started at the beginning. They only brought in girls from the in-person auditions, limiting the talent pool. They also didn't show us hardly anybody who got eliminated and I'm sorry but one of the best parts of survival shows is seeing who makes it and who doesn't. And A2K gave low-budget. Still rooting for them but it's easy to see how Katseye was set up for success vs Vcha :/
Vcha's songs are better than Katseye for me personally. It's refreshing to see a girl group not do either a hardcore, dripped out concept or a minimal repetitive chorus.
Calling them “an only global girl group” is crazyyy. Being a global girl group in general is OUTSTANDING. They are that group and I can’t wait until everyone catches on
I see where you're coming from, and I completely agree that being a global girl group is an outstanding achievement! However, my intention in the video was not to undermine their achievements, but to point out a shift in how they are being labeled. Initially, they were positioned as an 'American-based global K-POP group' when A2K was announced. But now, with their branding moving towards 'global POP group,' I find this change significant, especially considering their unprecedented silence since March 2024. This shift from 'K-POP' to 'POP' is what I was trying to specifically address for VCHA. This could be more than just a rebranding-there might be deeper reasons behind it, which I explored in the latter part of my video. It's not about downplaying their success or status, but rather about recognizing the evolving narrative around them. My aim was to express my own confusion about these changes and provide some context to understand it better. I hope this clears up my perspective and why I brought up these points in the video.
I watched both shows, I originally was enthusiastic about Vcha, but when hearing their first music and concept + their visuals, I lost interest, I even forgot the name of the group until now. Meanwhile, Katseye got me hooked, the show was better, the trainees were more talented, their songs are catchy, visuals on point!
the only problem with Katseye is there logo and branding - I mean all the girls are beautiful and talented - but please change the color and aesthetic make it more pleasing and eye catchy like what Blackpink did the right the first time
They really fumbled with vcha promos. I was pretty out of the kpop world loop for the past few years bc life was coming at me fast lol so i had no idea about jyp or hybe forming global girl groups. But sure enough Katseye kept (almost annoyingly) popping up on my socials so much that I eventually went "alright lemme check them out" and now I'm a casual fan. Meanwhile the only reason i even heard the name vcha was from someone commenting about them under a katseye-related video.
I'm a hard core Katseye stan, but the correct answer is Blackpink. They were first and so far are also far more successful then either of these two. BP also pioneered the Netflix and social media strategy that Katseye is emulating and trying to improve upon. Until VCHA resurfaces, they are essentially irrelevant.
agree with Blackpink. even though they are a K-pop group, their success in the Western market has definitely played a major role in opening doors for more global girl group projects and bringing K-pop to a whole new level of international recognition.
I love black pink so much, but sometimes I think some fans are annoying Black pink is initially a Kpop group, their worldwide popularity makes them known globally but they're Kpop...just like other Kpop groups that are known globally too In the western, no matter the prize they'll win, it's gonna be in the Kpop category While these two groups in the video were built to be global girl group from the beginning, there is a difference Please stop being like that and stop trying to put black pink in every sauce
@@Dogsear_BRO_Scott Not really as there is not anything to think outside of the box. It's a simple topic about the global girl group. The video is talking about global gg. But it's like you thought too hard that's why you just missed the whole topic.
Vcha is coming back next year!! And they might dominate?? 😭 I love both yall dw About vcha too they might come with a darker comeback idk if its fake or real but from what i heard it sounds dark and mysterious
Considering the recent backlash with their Disney concept JYPE will probably give them a way better comeback. Dominating the industry is a stretch though, I see them having a trending TikTok sound at most
Disagree with the stronger vocalists. Their two good vocalists are Camila and KG. And compared to Sophia and Lara, they are not better. All four are on a similar level. The rest of the members are also either similar level as the other katseye members of worse. So vocally these two groups are fairly evenly matched
@@Hannah-vt7lc I'm more familiar with Vcha just because I prefer Jyp's style of survival shows because there's less editing and post production but I just went back and listened to their voices and you're correct! They're about the same, Katseye being slightly better. I still prefer Vcha's music, especially Only One, very good song.
@nylawalker1629 you are entitled to an opinion but just because you are more familiar with vcha or prefer them doesnt mean it's a fact that they are stronger vocalists and it's not just about vocals because if it's just about vocals mamamoo would be the most popular female kpop group
Yea idk if y’all haven’t listened to all of Katseye’s vocals but none of the vcha girls are seeing any of the katseye girls vocally, technique or tone wise. Their best singer is Camila and she isn’t a better singer than Lara or Sophia not to mention as main dancers Megan and Daniela having better voices than most main dancers in any group. And then there’s yoonchae’s super versatile vocals. When it comes to music style tho I’ll say that’s up to taste and age range for sure. Vcha’s music is more cutesy and childlike, closer to Disney channel vibes especially since the lyrics are English and not korean. Katseye’s whole vibe is overall more mature and their music is much more catchy and can attract a broader range of fans than vcha and their more feminine and young aimed music
blackpink will always be popular & relevant, no one’s taking that away from them, even if they don’t release music, they won’t be forgotten BUT THEY WON’T ALWAYS BE THE TOP GIRL GROUP do you really think that blackpink will still be the #1 girl group in the next 10 years? no, and that’s okay.
Skill wise, it's VCHA, katseye fans can say whatever they want, but it's pretty obvious that VCHA has stronger skills despite having much less training than Katseye (they only recieved trained for each mission stage, while katseye had training before Dream Academy)

My aim was to express my own confusion about these changes and provide some context to understand it better. I hope this clears up my perspective and why I brought up these points in the video.
KATSEYEEEEEE
western media loves drama and pop star katseye gave them that
Talent and star quality matters where vcha can't reach
@@Arkv-o1n FACTSSS
Am I the only one that that chose vcha? I’m so excited for their comeback in 2025!
Are they tho!?
한국인으로서 나는 KATSEYE도 사랑하고 VCHA도 사랑한다.
나는 두 걸그룹들이 모두 국제적 무대에서 활동하면서 성공하기를 진심으로 바란다.
KATSEYE Fighthing, VCHA Fighting ! ❤❤
Vcha has been gone for 7 months 😢
Vcha's having a come back in 2025
Are they !?
This didn't age well
my heart breaks for VCHA and to all idols & trainees
vcha’s lineup is bad image is everything
No its not they're all pretty and talented
@@chigto they are all pretty and talented but they don't look cohesive as a group
aint it obvious... katseye is way more appealing , sexier and has better songs, VCHA flop
Can everyone please stop being rude to vcha?
right
the only problem with Katseye is there logo and branding - I mean all the girls are beautiful and talented - but please change the color and aesthetic make it more pleasing and eye catchy like what Blackpink did the right the first time
i didn't know VCHA til this video lol
😭 JYP really did a horrible job in promoting them. They haven't had any content in 7 months.
Bro it global gg. Can you understand the difference between kpop and global group??
I love black pink so much, but sometimes I think some fans are annoying
Black pink is initially a Kpop group, their worldwide popularity makes them known globally but they're Kpop...just like other Kpop groups that are known globally too
In the western, no matter the prize they'll win, it's gonna be in the Kpop category
While these two groups in the video were built to be global girl group from the beginning, there is a difference
Please stop being like that and stop trying to put black pink in every sauce
@PriyontidasSneha I'd like to give you a box. Think outside of it.
😭 I love both yall dw
About vcha too they might come with a darker comeback idk if its fake or real but from what i heard it sounds dark and mysterious
I don’t see it
@09803x stop down playing VCHA
😂😂😂😂
Considering the recent backlash with their Disney concept JYPE will probably give them a way better comeback. Dominating the industry is a stretch though, I see them having a trending TikTok sound at most
even with such a short time of training vchas talent is on the same level of katseye if they trained even more they would be better
as a fan of both groups...they are not on the same level tho
@ proof
@@hikauroo Katseye are much better prepared...be fr
@@kpopme7327 proof.. just because they had years of training doesn’t mean anything
@hikauroo just watch their performances and videos in general lol
I prefer Vcha's music and members. They also have stronger vocalists while being so young.
I still prefer Vcha's music, especially Only One, very good song.
lol Sophia and Lara and Megan too just to put a point have way better vocals than VCHA
It's because they support Israel, God bless them ♥
neither. lol
blackpink will always be popular & relevant, no one’s taking that away from them, even if they don’t release music, they won’t be forgotten BUT THEY WON’T ALWAYS BE THE TOP GIRL GROUP do you really think that blackpink will still be the #1 girl group in the next 10 years? no, and that’s okay.
@@balladofahomeschooledboy0514 that goes for BTS right??not the Top Boygroup?
@@realchocochoco we’ll do you think bts will still be the #1 boy group for the next 10 years?
@ no hahaha
BLACKPINK AND BABYMONSTER.
Babymonster is not global yet lmao
those are kpop groups...not global pop groups lol
blackpink and who?
@ Rookie of the Year. What signification milestone did Katseye and VCHA have this year?
@@realchocochoco katseye has more monthly listeners than babymonster LOOOOL and the general public don’t know who babymonster is
Skill wise, it's VCHA, katseye fans can say whatever they want, but it's pretty obvious that VCHA has stronger skills despite having much less training than Katseye (they only recieved trained for each mission stage, while katseye had training before Dream Academy)
vcha are dozens so how can they be more skilful than katseye that has professional dancers and singers
Skill wise lol🤣🤣🤣🤣our main dancer alone can eat your main vocalist interms of vocals so let's not talk abt talent which vcha clearely lack in
@ vcha bunch of dozens that jyp locked in the basement as he should
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
