Recently bought a used Mercedes camper van here in Chile that was imported from Germany...... All the instructions are in German!
Got the red light coming on when trying to fire up the heater...... At first I thought it was because the boiler had air locked....we had low temperatures recently and the Auto-Drain valve operated to drain & protect the boiler from frost damage. And I had recently changed the LPG cylinders over...... so this video was very helpful. Cheers mate!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment
Thanks I actually thought the red light meant it was on. Was driving me crazy.
Glad it was useful!
Our heater kept going into fault, we discovered the van has to be level, even a slight incline will cause it to go into fault. Ever since we found this we've never had any problems. There is no mention of this in the van handbook or Truma instructions
Thanks for the info, very strange that even a slight incline causes it to fault. Might be an extra safety built into your particular system.
Exactly the video I needed to find! Thank you.
Thanks! Glad it helped.
Truma Gas HWS finally fixed. Thank you.

Thanks Geoff!

Thank you my friend ! Works now

Awesome mate cheers, my red light comes on as well, I was actually looking for a green light to indicate alls well.
Thanks Mate! On earlier models there isn't a green light, can be confusing as some user manuals show this.

Awesome, I''ll sub now!
Auto Buddy cheers mate endure 😆📷🚐
Thank you...I too have a Travelander. My hot water has never worked in the 2 years that i have had it.
Today i discovered a little yellow inline water valve near the Truma heater which was in the off position.
I pulled up a little yellow lever and i could hear the water surge in the line.
However, as soon as I turned on the water pump water was expelled onto the floor of the vehicle tray.
It flooded out so much that I couldnt leave it running. I had to shut off the pump to stem the flow.
What vent in the Truma is open which needs closing? Or is it a fault.?
Cheers
Peter
Thanks. Are you referring to the valve / line below

@@AutoBuddynz yes
@@giterdunpete You have to close that valve. Its there so one can drain the heater tank, needed for cold countries when storing below 0°. Is it leaking inside the cabin floor? Or outside the vehicle? Its designed to empty water outside and underneath the camper as its a drain valve. If after closing it, it still leaks I would suggest getting it replaced, its not uncommon to have the fail over time. If its leaking inside the cabin get it replaced asap to prevent internal water damage.
@Longruffian the video below might be useful from 1 min on.

Also when the valve is replaced or leak fixed make sure to bleed to air out of the system, otherwise you can burn out the water pump

@@AutoBuddynz It leaks to the under side of the Travelander. So when it is closed there are no leaks. But i still cant get the Truma to "fire up".
Truma water heater running water through hot water taps but when taps not open water drains back into outside 40L barrel, this leaves hot water tank empty
If this is a new problem which you have never encountered before the check valve could be faulty. If its a new camper then check to see if its in place, could be other issues as well but this is a common fault.

We found that the cover over the vent was the problem.Remove the whole vent it started every time.
Doest help at all because you were doing it with gas
@@jasonrae9190 Do you have an issue when you plug the camper into power? 240v? Is it a combi boiler? If so see my other video below
