I think both Chris and Zach brought some epic traits to the band. Chris is a great songwriter (He wrote paper wings) and made amazing solos. But just looking at Zach play is entertainment. He goes crazy and it's so fun to watch.
@@MarckyMarc2008 Maybe he means to say the quality of the guitar leads aren't as amazing as they were when Chris was in the band? Which I would have to say OP is right
I don't know, but I think RA was the best when he was part of the band. "Siren Song..." and "Suffer and the Witness" didn't have any bad song and I still love to here both straight through, but since he left all of the records beginning with Appeal to Reason were just average. Just my opinion, but Rise Against lost me somewhere along the way.
I would have loved to hear Chris take lead for a song or two. =) That's the only way "Sufferer and the Witness" could have been any better. We all knew he's an incredible guitar player, but he can sing? Awesome!
@Principezone No, he took it down himself. There are no bad feeling between RA and Chris'. Chris even attend two shows on this last tour with Bad Religion. And plus Chris was the one that wrote this song.
Want to know what would be badass? If Chris joins back, replacing Zach, and Tim and Chris share vocals (Chris sings his own songs) just like Justin Sane and Chris #2 of Anti-Flag
@ricola30011996 The original one is the one he wrote which is with bass/drums/electric guitar. He did an acoustic cover of his own song so yes it's still called a cover.
@MrKitteh101 Yeah, Chris had some family stuff to deal with and also he was sick of touring, Rise Against toured a lot and he joined the band right before they started getting huge.
Chris made an excelent job on Last of the Believers and he's doing a good job too on Nations Afire. I think he could be the singer of his bands. His voice is amazing I would give an arm to see Chris playing with Tim one last time
I respect that you prefer Chris to Zach. But not everything you stated is really true. As a guitarist I find the intro and outro solos of Collapse the most difficult. The Paper Wings solo is played by Tim. Injection and Tip The Scales don't have solos and the Drones solo hardly counts as one. My favourite album is The Sufferer and the Witness but the lead melodies in ATR and Endgame (as well as things like The Ballad of Hollis Brown and Dirt and Roses) are the best that Rise Against has had.
love this song. doing an accoustic version of it was a great idea. the fact that the dude left rise against makes me sad tho. why in the hell would you ever do that?
Todd Mohney rarely did back up vocals. Most were done by Joe. Zach does do back up vocals but he is more focused on playing the guitar and being entertaining on stage.
No, Tim could do high scream even after Chris left, look at the 2009 lives, the high screams are absolutely awesome. Tim can't do high scream right now because of the voice problems.
if you still need them :D just mix the rhythm and lead guitar parts from the original version and play it on acoustic guitar :D well except the solo, this is a bit different
There is no way Zach is more advanced than Chris. There's been only a few guitar solos with Zach (Collapse, Grammatizator) and with Chris, well....look at the solos to Tip the Scales, Blood to Bleed, Paper Wings, Injection, Drones and a bunch more I know you didn't say anything about Todd but the solos in Blood Red White&Blue and Like the Angel r amazing as well as the guitar work in Torches and a bunch more Zach brings the radio "rock" sound which is very very unfortunate and no longer the same
Actually, if you watch the Paper Wings live video on the Rise Against VEVO, Tim does the solo, same with Prayer of the Refugee. And Zach's solos live are amazing, just watch the Savior live 2012 video. The reason they probably had to become more mellow was most likely because of the strain on Tim's voice.
@xbreakthehabitx Okay, I'll start tabbing, I pm you a link when I'm done. (Anyone else who wants it just pm me and I'll get the link to you too.) I'll probably put it up on Ultimate Guitar or something.
the thing that i really wish zach was able to do was, well...be even backup vocals...that portion of the band could use some major help esp if they ever play their older songs like Black Masks and Gasoline and such other than that yes i think zach is the more advanced guitar player though i would take chris any day of the week ;)
It's ironic, how Rise Against were (almost) all bullied when they were kids, and are against it now - but still have Chris so much shit just because he was kinda shy and didn't "fight back"...
No fucking way! Chris was fantastic but have you seen Zach live?? God he can jump and play 5 chords in mid air, and he is, as some of you said, a great guy, id love to party with him xDDD Only thing i think chris was better at is backing vocals ;)
Its not nice to say that Zach sucks. I'm reading comments that Zach sucks and is not nice for RA and they want Chris back. They dont know why Chris left RA. He left for family issures, RA was fine with Chris and didnt kicked or pushed him out. RA at the moment is good with Zach too, they are doing great shows and are succesful. I think when Chris read some of the commens here, he would be disappointed of the people who arent accepting Zach and saying RA was better with Chris instead of Zach.
miss this guy at rise against
I still miss
Wish Chris was still in the band :(
I think both Chris and Zach brought some epic traits to the band. Chris is a great songwriter (He wrote paper wings) and made amazing solos.
But just looking at Zach play is entertainment. He goes crazy and it's so fun to watch.
i like zach, but chris is untouchable in my opinion. i want him back! :(
Hey man...go back ti rise!
That was the best time!
Zac us cool too!;)
Greetz from GER
Man, Sufferer and the Witness was my favorite album. I constantly wonder what they'd be like if Chris was still in the band.
BurntRussianHD Maybe he wouldn’t have become Glasses Jacket Shirt Man.
this song is not even on this album
@@MarckyMarc2008 Maybe he means to say the quality of the guitar leads aren't as amazing as they were when Chris was in the band? Which I would have to say OP is right
He has a pretty good voice, no wonder his backing vocals were so awesome.
Are you kidding me dude ? This is absolutely amazing ! Cheers from me to you ! Just wow I loved this
Thank you SO MUCH for upload this!!!!
i miss him :(
It's so beautiful
I don't know, but I think RA was the best when he was part of the band. I disagree, but it's a fair opinion. Their lyrics are still top though.
Chris Ray he was my favorite guitarist from rise against suck that he left, but you should check out his new band Nations Afire
HOLY SHIT CHRIS
This is beautiful.
Very nice, like it very much. Chris was cool :)
I hope Tim does a Acoustic Paper Wings version too
I would have loved to hear Chris take lead for a song or two. =) That's the only way "Sufferer and the Witness" could have been any better. We all knew he's an incredible guitar player, but he can sing? Awesome!
All you people are giving false information Chris never wrote any songs for RA. All songs were written by Tim. Still an awesome cover!!
this is great. never heard it before
Holy fly, that is so good
i love it!!
@Principezone No, he took it down himself. There are no bad feeling between RA and Chris'. Chris even attend two shows on this last tour with Bad Religion.
And plus Chris was the one that wrote this song.
Oh, please make an album Chris, that was beautiful =)
@FMminecraft It definately is a cover, because the actual song is by Rise Against. doesnt matter if he wrote it.
@AlmostaFlipinSkater yup. we all remember todd. Back in the day when Rise Against was a hardcore punk rock band.
@xDSlimz Chris Chasse was the old guitarist for Rise Against. He left in 2007 :)
Want to know what would be badass? If Chris joins back, replacing Zach, and Tim and Chris share vocals (Chris sings his own songs) just like Justin Sane and Chris #2 of Anti-Flag
nah i reckon its sick, all of the guys have their own style which all compliment each other
Awesome!!!!!!!!! Pardon my limited vocabulary.
i miss him and the old rise against.
I remember Chris!!!!!
@ricola30011996 The original one is the one he wrote which is with bass/drums/electric guitar. He did an acoustic cover of his own song so yes it's still called a cover.
We are miss Chris :(
Amazing Cover !!
+Rovid Its no a cover. This guy created this song. He was guitarist in Rise Against :)
+Rovid hahaha Marcin is right its not a cover he was the guitarist until and including The Sufferer and The Witness lolzz
@MrKitteh101 Yeah, Chris had some family stuff to deal with and also he was sick of touring, Rise Against toured a lot and he joined the band right before they started getting huge.
It was in one of their documentaries.
The one that came out with Sufferer and the Witness.
@TheSkinnyCap This isnt a cover. Chris wrote this song but Tim sang it and he uploaded himself singing it :)
I miss Chris!! He was the best in my opinion
Chris made an excelent job on Last of the Believers and he's doing a good job too on Nations Afire. I think he could be the singer of his bands. His voice is amazing
I would give an arm to see Chris playing with Tim one last time
Beautifull as fuck. Raping the replay button thanks for the upload :)
Still good, don't remove!
Edit: 2022 still good, don't remove!
Edit: 2024 still good, don't remove!
i like this guy more than zack, do you think if there was ever an opening he might come back?
+General Corbulo (aXios) probably not he left because they were starting to get big and touring more maybe if they did a reunion concert
Thanks
I like the song :D
I respect that you prefer Chris to Zach. But not everything you stated is really true.

Man...why you get off of the rise against... you the best guitarist...please...
so thanks for you be yourself...
love this song. doing an accoustic version of it was a great idea. the fact that the dude left rise against makes me sad tho. why in the hell would you ever do that?
@FMminecraft Yes, I know. But if its not rise against performing it, its a cover.
Todd Mohney rarely did back up vocals. Most were done by Joe. Zach does do back up vocals but he is more focused on playing the guitar and being entertaining on stage.
Thumbs up if this made you cry manly tears.
Why he has leaved the band i like his voice and his guitar solo.I am his biggest fan.
im trying to learn the solo atm
he is a great singer, i miss him :') i still love Zach though :D
Nobody replace Chris as the backing vocalist.
@xbreakthehabitx I just got the solo done, and holy hell that is the most fun part to play >.
No, Tim could do high scream even after Chris left, look at the 2009 lives, the high screams are absolutely awesome. Tim can't do high scream right now because of the voice problems.
Does anyone know if Chris was the person who wrote this originally? Was it his own song and then let Rise use it?
You couldn't have stated my opinion any better.
he did leave. they didn't kick him out. although he did always think he was gunna get kicked out and they did joke about it with him. :)
@diashi120 Yeah, that would be sweet! I'm a lot of people would like that too.
tabs please!!
if you still need them :D
just mix the rhythm and lead guitar parts from the original version and play it on acoustic guitar :D
well except the solo, this is a bit different
its a very good acoustic version of this song.
why had chris left Rise Against?
@xDSlimz So why is chris singing it a cover? He was in the bad for a very very long time
Housemaster... unless they all look like him... and don't worry... at least you're trying to learn... where are you from if I may ask?
There is no way Zach is more advanced than Chris. There's been only a few guitar solos with Zach (Collapse, Grammatizator) and with Chris, well....look at the solos to Tip the Scales, Blood to Bleed, Paper Wings, Injection, Drones and a bunch more

Dude I don't know were your getting your info from but Tim wrote all lyrics to Siren Song.
@xDSlimz So if Tim Sang it on his own would that be a cover? :S
In all fairness, there's a reason Tim was the singer and Chris was the guitarist.
Somebody have the documentary too ;)
one person got pissed that they jizzed on their speakers when they heard this beautiful song....
why is he wering a jacket with my name on it? and why is it missing a "y"? and where can I get one?
Damn onion cutting ninjas..
didn't chris leave RA for family issues? I don't think he got kicked out
do you think he should of been the vocalist just for this song?
Dude I was talking about lyrics not the music itself.
@xbreakthehabitx Okay, I'll start tabbing, I pm you a link when I'm done. (Anyone else who wants it just pm me and I'll get the link to you too.) I'll probably put it up on Ultimate Guitar or something.
Any link to it? Where I can find it? I really want to see it.
nobody is talking about lyrics. I know Chris never wrote any lyrics. I'm talking about the music
OMG this is awesome... anyone think they could figure out the chords on this?? that would be amazing!! id love to play this
hmm... like his version.... amazing guitarist.... wish he stayed ):
@xDSlimz Band*
@ringishpil damn straight.
the thing that i really wish zach was able to do was, well...be even backup vocals...that portion of the band could use some major help esp if they ever play their older songs like Black Masks and Gasoline and such other than that yes i think zach is the more advanced guitar player though i would take chris any day of the week ;)
@darkvirus37
I remember Todd
How do you know they joked about him?
It's ironic, how Rise Against were (almost) all bullied when they were kids, and are against it now - but still have Chris so much shit just because he was kinda shy and didn't "fight back"...
Are you stupid? Chris leaving was fully his decision, no bad blood.
who did it? confess!
Sure that was pointed out and I knew that all ready. Fyi
Sorry for being very uninformed but why did he leave the band in the first place?
+Jamako Is Bäck because they were starting to get big and touring more
Who the hell told you that?
Pasame esa Foto
No fucking way!
Chris was fantastic but have you seen Zach live?? God he can jump and play 5 chords in mid air, and he is, as some of you said, a great guy, id love to party with him xDDD
Only thing i think chris was better at is backing vocals ;)
watch their first documentary 'Generation Lost: How we survive'
@VavourasRocksurSocks why not?
@diashi120 chris is the one whom actualy rote the song buddy XD lol
not true. Chris Co wrote Siren Song
Since Chris left, RA went downhill. I miss properly played solos (unlike zach) and your voice man :(.
its not really a cover if he wrote it is it?
@thecrazy1231000 no xD
Its not nice to say that Zach sucks. I'm reading comments that Zach sucks and is not nice for RA and they want Chris back. They dont know why Chris left RA. rise against lost something when Chris left
Well, then didnt make it very serious and then they had fun and succes with hin so they went pretty well i think!
