Tennessee's defense has not given up a TD yet. Nicco threw a pic 6 . The defense has only given up two field goals. And the offense is averaging 63 points a game! Go Big Orange 🍊
Im ready for our defense to shut them out so Josh can go back in his press conference and say “yall gonna give my defense some credit finally”! He was so fired up about his defense being underrated and all I can say is that I don’t see our defense getting any worse anytime soon! Go Big Orange 🍊! Tennessee is scoring atleast 48 points and I see Oklahoma getting no more than 17 if that, I can fully see them only getting 2-3 field goals and no touchdowns
We haven't given up a TD even going back through the bowl game so our defense has gone four games without giving up an offensive touchdown.
Tennessee has pretty much played base defense every game this year. They haven't shown anything. I don't think Pierce has played in the second half once this year

Oklahoma’s defense is over rated and their offense is terrible. Oklahoma gets exposed in a big way Saturday IMO.

@@Eazymango I know that Oklahoma has a very good defense and it's going to be won or lose at the line of scrimmage. It's all in who can get penetration and disrupt the QB. Should be a good game. And good luck to the Sooners. But Tennessee takes this one. Go Vols!

This is a strength vs strength game. Most commentators seem to be focused on how bad the OU offense has been. They're getting some guys back so that should help. The real story is that the OU D is nasty. That D, plus a rowdy night crowd keep this one close to the last few minutes. Will this one make 4 straight for OU? Or will Coach Hype get revenge for being canned from his alma mater? Tune in, folks.

I love my Vols, but no way in hell do they put up 60 on Oklahoma. I'll be shocked if they score 40.

I can tell these dudes like to look at Stats and don’t watch the games lol. Nico has barely even played. Hes played about 6 quarters in 3 games.
nico has only played 7 quarters in 3 games. this will be his best game statistically. i dont think most tv/internet show hosts realize this. he played only the first half against UTC, he was taken out in the 4th quarter against NC State, and was taken out midway through the 2nd quarter against Kent State. We will get a full game out of Nico this week.
OU defense is behind Georgia only in the SEC this is gonna be a fun game for this defense!
That’s hilarious. Oklahoma has an elite defense maybe for Big 12 standards. Is maybe above average in the SEC. They are also gassed mid to late 3rd quarter as their offense can’t sustain drives and run tempo which makes for a lot of time on the field for their defense. TN’s run game starts gashing them in the 2nd half.

Yall were the only ones in the country with questions on the TN d-line. We rotate 12-13 guys and at least 6 will be playing on Sundays at some point. 3 will be drafted, Omar Norman Lott, Omari Thomas and James Pearce.

These guys have not watched a single snap of Tennessee defense. Pearce has been in the backfield every game he’s played. The dline was and is completely stacked. There are 3 interior defenders who are going to be taken rounds 1-3 in the next two drafts.
Um, Heupel wasn't just an OC for Oklahoma. He's the last Sooner QB to bring home the Natty. And coached there for a DECADE!! So take whatever you think regarding this "revenge game" and pump it UP a few more notches.

No one’s taking into consideration on these talk shows about how our offense has been dialed back in the third quarter and fourth quarter. Tennessee will win by 30+
Just as Tennessee hasn't played anyone, neither has Oklahoma. Stats might be helpful, but they don't tell but a small part of this story.
Um, they played an, at least SOLID, NC State team and blew their doors off. OU struggled against Houston and wasn't exactly crisp against Tulane. If OU gets a turnover, or some such, so get a little confidence early, they got a chance to keep it close. If they find themselves down two scores early, it'll be a blowout. UT, on the other hand, can make a comeback under most ANY scenario in this game.
Nico hasn’t “not found” his rhythm, there’s just been no need to throw the ball. Also Pierce really hasn’t played a ton and no need to show him off when the other team is down 37 points in 1st qtr.
This week Pierce will have 2 sacks and Nico will throw 3-40+ yd passes. Vols 41-17
Arnold is oklahomas leading rusher right now, sampson and bishop for tennessee have a combined 600 yards 11 tds, this could get ugly.

Pierce has only played like 15 snaps a game and none in the second half of any game. And when he did play, he was pulling attention away from the other d line man and even sitting in pass coverage

James Pierce is avg 10 snaps a game so far and even in limited snaps he has effected the qb without getting a sack. They will turn him loose Saturday.

Oklahoma hasn’t experienced an offense like TN and daring Nico to beat you is a terrible game plan as trying to man up against our WR’s with Nico at QB will allow TN’s offense to score quicker as big plays will be available in the passing game.
TN’s offense can beat you in multiple ways so it’s a pick your poison situation.
I can’t wait to watch TN’s offense expose the Oklahoma defense and the TN defense dominates Oklahomas offense.

Sooners are considerably better than shown so far. They were the only squad last season to beat a playoff team and Senior dominated on a complex defense. Young Vols QB on the road turns it over Sooners roll otherwise down to the wire

Pierce just hasn't played much yet. I'll bet his snap count is about 50 for the whole season. That and we haven't done anything but play base defense and very vanilla. Also, the offense has run about 10 plays the first 3 games.

UT beat a ranked NC State at a neutral site in North Carolina, but NC State could have been overrated. Probably both teams have comparable wins. Tennessee starters haven't played a full game yet. Expect OU at home to be better than any team UT has played. Also, home field gives OU an advantage. I expect a close game. If UT wins, I would call it an upset.

TN doesn’t have as many opportunities as the defense is getting a lot of 3 and outs and dominating 3rd down and 4th down to get them off the field.

Okay load the box and Nico will start his Heisman campaign. TN runs for 150+ as the run game starts gashing that defense in the 2nd half when the defense is gassed.

James peirce has hardly played and when he does play they double team him or throw the ball right away he disrupts offenses just being on the feild

I’m so lost on people saying James Pearce has made a slow start. Okay, by the numbers, sure. But he has GREATLY affected other teams game plan and also, should be credited with assists for sacks and TFLs. Also, teams game plan against him the entire time. So he’s letting everyone eat. Now that people are realizing they can’t double him or else our defense will make them pay, it’s his time. Expect a big game from him.
