You always talk about doing the one thing, so how do you handle personal projects with the "one thing " you are focusing on for money/etc. I always get the guilt of wasting my energy and focus by not putting it all in the one thing. Although I do realize how you cannot rely on just doing the one thing and need to balance both
I unfortunately don't have a good answer for this. I struggle with the personal project aspect as well. It's hard. One thing I try is - counter balance it each season or in a given week. A 3 weeks of work, 1 week of personal. This is not the exact system i use. I play it by the ear. I try to counter balance things rather than balancing them, which is an idea I got from the book ONE THING by Gary Keller.
