I actually made a drawing of a Red Pikmin and Krieguardsmen standing side by side as if they were comrades because the Red Pikmin varient are the best at fighting creatures and are immune to fire damage.
My favorite anecdote of how hard it is for the Krieg to work with other guardsmen was when a watchmaster started to drain the blood from the corpses. One of the tried to stop him and his response was “your friend is dead and no longer needs his blood, but it can still be of use. Would you friend not want to be of further service to the emperor?”. Now imagine an entire army with that cold and calculating demeanor and you can see why people don’t get along well with them.
Not just corpses the guy getting drained is still alive when that happens, that scene is great for showing them as an army that takes practicality to the most cruel end point.
my Dogmatic Rogue Trader in owlcat's game would *love* these Krieg troopers in their retinue with how callously efficient they are. My heretic one would... god just the idea of corrupting Kriegers is tantalising to the extreme.
To bridge the gap between the two moralities: I think in the end the Krieger was wrong to drain the blood of a solider from a DIFFERENT regiment. It might be ok if it was a Krieger doing that to another Krieger cause the Death Korps are all signing up for the same thing and they do have a strong "We work as one to kill our foes" mentality.

Regarding the comment that Krieg seems to be the main focus of this edition codex. I think it can be very good news for the guard overall: If it works well for GW, they might move to a "Focus on one regiment per edition". , with a full box and a lot of new models for that specific regiment, nd perhaps a single unit/a few models for the "already taken care of" regiments. For example, the n 11th th, it could be the Catachan with a full rework of all the models (and by the Emperor, they need it), thethe n 12th would be Elysian Drop Troops or the Steel Legion, etc. A friend of mine loves the guard but dislikes the Cadians, and he was absolutely over the moon when he discovered that, for once, the codex doesn't seem to be focussed on Cadia. So yeah, I hope it is a sign that GW begins to show some love beyond the stuff they already overdid.

Regarding the comment that Krieg seems to be the main focus of this edition codex. I think it can be very good news for the guard overall:
If it works well for GW, they might move to a "Focus on one regiment per edition". , with a full box and a lot of new models for that specific regiment, nd perhaps a single unit/a few models for the "already taken care of" regiments.
I graduated from school in 2015, so there is 10 years gone
The Maccabean Janissaries are also dope af, don't see too many people talking about them though.
Wait so we just breezed past the gas masks being both intubation and feeding tube's..... now i have a mental image everytime i see a krieg mask
