    I'm currently reading Five Survive as well after being stuck in Romance for god so long. it's quite enjoyable to know that somehow there's gonna be blood all over the place instead of butterflies and cheesy pick up lines.

    Radio Silence is my favorite Oseman novel! It's one of those books that make you feel so seen if you've gone through any of those themes. I wished I had read it when I was younger.

    Love those UK Mistborn covers 💙Was surprised by your HoA rating at first but I totally get it. I also just need more Vin books. I think my favorite book of those you read is probably Emperor's Soul. Favorite book I read last month was definitely The Unbroken by C.L. Clark! Absolutely amazing!

    I think the Last Chance Library was my favorite read this month. I had been kinda in a reading slump and it was a good lighthearted small town library vibe book to get me back into reading. Combined with re-listening to The Lost Apothecary which I still love.

      i’m so glad you found something fun even though you were in a reading slump!!🖤 i don’t think i’ve ever heard of the last chance library but it sounds really cute

    I love Radio Silence! As someone who is asexual, Alice Oseman always knocks it out of the ballpark! To see representation is so nice! 🤍🖤💜

    i mostly read poetry this month, my favorites being bluest nude by ama codjoe, the sunflower cast a spell to save us from the void by jackie wang, i remember death by its proximity to what i love by mahogany l. browne and new poets of native nations by heid e. edrich. i also really liked this cute collection of comics about thw author's relationship with her partner called in love and pajamas

    As a mostly adult thriller reader I really enjoyed Holly Jackson's other mystery - thriller books too (As Good As Dead is totally a thriller. Super shocking, a true page turner, best in the AGGGTM series, her best book). Karen M McManus also writes great YA thrillers. I loved One Of Us Is Lying by her, couldn't put her books down! Those are some popular YA thriller recs but I'd reccommend them to thriller beginners any day

    • @katieisreading
      @katieisreading  ปีที่แล้ว

      ooh thank you for the recs!! after reading five survive i’m definitely on the look out for some more fun ya thrillers so i’ll have to check them out!!🖤🫶🏻

    I've been waiting for months for you to read Good girls guide to murder and the day you will, is going to be like an early birthday present. I finished reading Picture of Dorian gray this month and I'm so proud of myself, and just so in love with that book!! Also I have discovered that I really like the slow descent into madness of a character.

    • @katieisreading

    Not me being flabbergasted when I found out how "kruge" is pronounced through your video... I always pronounced it completely differently in my head while reading Six of Crows 😭😂
    I also had an incredibly successful reading month as I read 6 novels even though I usually only manage to finish 2 - 3 per month. I still can't quite believe it to be honest. My favourite books I read in April were definitely Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab and Six of Crows. Those are also the two books that I've tabbed the most so far since I started tabbing books so that goes to show how much I enjoyed them!

    • @katieisreading
      @katieisreading  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i had just listened to the audiobook which is the only reason i knew how to pronounce it hahaha😳 i’m so glad april was such a good reading month for you though!! our dark duet is absolutely fantastic and you’re making me want to reread the duology now!!

    When it comes to manga series I don't compare because I vibe differently with each story. I read 13 mangas/graphic novels and 4 novels in April. Slightly in a reading slump so hopefully my next pick of books are better reads but at least I had 2 five stars. Tress of the Emerald Sea and The Hawthorne Legacy were so good. I didn't care for Six of Crows and I would of liked it better if it was told in 2 or 3 perspectives so I could keep up with a new story. Great wrap up and good to hear you are liking Yona of the Dawn ^_^.

    I'm with you on The Hero of Ages. I think that book has the worst pacing out of the three and I won't lie, the lack of Vin also bugged me. She is by far the best thing in the series for me and still my favorite Cosmere character overall! Stormlight does remain supreme tho haha

    I like manga so much!! I think all of the YA novels could be great manga adaptations actually.... Similar to the Japanese Light Novels! Even YA books that aren't good due to the bad writing would be awesome manga stories since only the plot would remain and it would be perfect for that medium. 💕💕 My favorite manga so far is Boys Over Flowers ❤️

  • @PorothPorcupine
    @PorothPorcupine ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can't believe you just casually read 11 times as many books as I did last month 😩🤚 (not to be shady, but I am totally judging a book called "Ice Planet Barbarians" by its title 😭)

    • @katieisreading
      @katieisreading  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      to be fair over half of the books i read in april are manga so probably only like 5 times in reality🤔 also i think it’s very valid of you to judge a book titled ice planet barbarians solely on its title… it’s kind of asking for it😭😭)
