Have you thought about reading the Silmarillion? I know some people bag on it but the stories are just so good if you get past the early parts. Also, love that hardcover set. I’ve have had my eye on it for ages and this finally made me hit the purchase button lol
I agree about Lord of the Rings - there are some really slow moments, and I'm not sure I like the songs either, but the characters and world and the love for them both make it five stars. Also, I really want to make those pumpkin cookies.

Its a horror manga about spirals and there are many short storys set in the same world. The stories are crazy but so beautifully illustrated. This month we're reading the book "The Shadow of the Wind" by Calos Ruiz Zafon in the reading group. For me it's a re-read, but I'm really looking forward to it. I can't wait to see you read The Two Towers and hear your thoughts on it. I have never managed to finish it because I hate the style Tolkien used for the plot: separating it into three different sections for each group. I prefer the movie version of moving between them.

Oh, I read The fellowship last month and it´s exactly as you´ve said. I love the atmosphere. Also your video is amazing. The music helped me to feel better.
I love the pacing of LOTR! We cover like 17 years in the first chapter or 2 of Fellowship, then time starts to slow more and more until the end of the trilogy. Sam and Frodo basically spend 48 hours in Mordor going to Mt Doom and it’s half the book lol. For me, it really works and I like that time stretches.
