As a bass player, I have to say that Mark Bedford is one of the most underrated players. His playing and tone is always spot on!

First saw Madness in 1981, Logan Campbell Centre in New Zealand. I was 18, it was transformative. We left the UK, before they hit it big, then they came to me. They came from the wrong side of the River, as far as we were concerned back then, but the music fitted for me.
Brilliant band, Happy childhood memories, glad i saw them while they could still move around a bit on stage!!

I genuinely cannot remember what year but somewhere between 1998 and 2005, I was concert security at Hallam FM Arena in Sheffield, and I was lucky to be pit man at many big names, Meat Loaf, Iron Maiden, Timberlake, Beyonce, Simply red, Black Eyed Peas etc, but the one that sticks most is Madness, loved the show, although it had one bad part, some scumbag thought it was funny to throw a full large beaker of beer over into the mixing deck causing a bang cutting all sound, we had to wait while they got towels and a couple hair dryers to try and clean all the electrics, amazingly they managed to do it, the show went on.
What happened to the scumbag?
Was he tared and feathered by the crowd?
@@othernicksweretaken Never got the guy, but the crew thought it was on purpose, as they were in a big argument with the BBC at the time and figured someone was screwing with them, I wouldn't have thought so but the BBC did a lot of illegal things at least in the past.

I was there. Elton John headlined. Not a cloud all day; my first proper all day festival : brilliant. Saw Madness in Dec 16, even better with a longer set and all the graphics that go with it. 👍

Maybe they sound a little more slowlier than before? But anyway Madness are great :) Ich glaube die klingen irgendwie etwas langsamer und ruhiger. Trotzdem schön, Madness bei You Tube live sehen zu können. Glaube aber die waren früher etwas schneller (muß das mal selber nachrecherchieren bei You Tube).
Why does everyone make ref to Chas it was his decision to leave and do the solo stuff all he does is the BVs dance and a bit of percussion he can come back anytime he likes....
