...In the year 2020, I experienced a Subarachnoid hemorrhage most likely due to a previous traumatic head sport injury or other related. I never smoked. I did drink wine. (I don't drink now) I felt weird pressure in my neck and felt I needed an ice pick to release the pressure. I simultaneous immediately asked my family to call 911 and was immediately taken to neurosurgery. I was in the hospital for 20 days while my head was being drained. There was no sign of any aneurysm. I survived and just completed my 3 year checkup. The event somewhat changed my outlook on life.
Ok how lucky am I that I discovered you. As a Neurosurgery NP, there are so many things that we have to understand and the crash course doesn’t explain the why we do things. If I don’t understand the why, I forget so much. You made SAH management so easy that I am so excited about each of your other posts. You make me want to learn everything. I just love you and thank you, thank you, thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
amazing, currently in my Neuro Crit Care rotation and you've helped me understand things SO much....I might actually be able to keep up now during Rounding
Really impressive! Clearly put so much time and effort into this - I'm very grateful to have this, the visual aids are very useful and your tone too. I tutor an adult learner for maths, and he tells me "don't be scared to talk to me almost like a child". You use a tone that is very encouraging and draws out knowledge, but not patronising in any way. Fantastic teaching!
Great video!!! I was involved in a head on collision 10 days ago & was discharged from the hospital after being diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage the day after. I'm due for a 2nd CT scan late next week. Thankfully I have yet to exhibit any symptoms that require me to be hospitalized but I do have a slight tingling sensation on the side of my head. Just keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing major.
Yo what happened bro? I was in a car crash 4 days ago got let out of hospital after 1 day feel completely fine up to now other than a deep fracture on my skull and a fracture on my spine hopefully I’ll be okay
Now try remembering this in practice. Point being most of us can't but we can go back and quickly refresh because we learned about it. That was my strategy and it worked.
Thank you so much for this video, your explanations are cristal clear ! My life partner had a little subarachnoid hemorrhage and I wanted to understand what was going on. Doctors don't have enough time to explain to us, and it's difficult to know how to behave. Full gratitude
On the real though, thank you for the education. My mom’s best friend just suffered from one of these & in trying to find more info about it I found your video. I hope to share some info w my momma to help her process the event. ❤
Fantastic lecture~ your systematic approach made excellent sense of this multifaceted medical event. The diagrams w/ur explanations were A++++! Thank you for helping me to understand so much more than the treating doctors could because it has given me the ability to better advocate for my family member who has been on such a medical situation. God bless you for sharing ur ability to help others to better understand very complicated concepts while also teaching future doctors not only the medical intricacies but a calm concise manner to explain this to lay people.
Between your soothing voice & the marker cap ASMR I am 30 mins into your video & somehow so relaxed I have goosebumps. Lol @ the irony of feeling relaxed & learning about cerebral vessel ruptures & hemorrhages 😂😭
You are an amazing and talented doctor. It was a very detailed description and you have touched every department like ITU, radiology, stroke, cardiac and neurosurgery. I'm so impressed by your clever teaching. I can't believe I spent all those time watching but your efforts for this teaching were incredible. Hats off .❤👏👏👏
Thanks very much for this information. I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage in February this year. It’s helped me to understand what happened to me. Much appreciated 👍🏼💜
@@psycho_maniac2286 That’s not long ago! The headaches I had was bad but they’ve eased up a bit now thankfully. Hopefully you’ll be the same. I joined closed Facebook groups to see if it helped and it did because it’s lonely and nobody understands unless they’ve gone through it. There’s a reason why we’re here just trying to figure out why. Good luck with your recovery and God Bless 🙏🏼
i'm watching your videos and they and you are perfect but i just request from you guys share with us one before and after board before and after of lecture because they are very good but i wanna see in my tablet your board to remind them after . THANKS
i had pcomm aneurysm + endovascular coiling surgery the following day. in October 2021 as they have to take care first of brain fluid build up. i was in coma immediately when my artery ruptured. was in comma for 3 weeks, i developed during and after the surgery serious complications such as ischemic strokes, Hemorrhagic transformation, hydrocephalus and i had 3 infections: in the blood, the lungs (not covid), c-difficile. three months in three hospitals. my current deficiencies: i cannot make s fist with left hand, unless i exercise it for a while,,,,i also have homonymous hemianopsia. my left leg is a bit weak. but i am able to walk. i am grateful.
Hi do you know about extra dural. My sister was today got the result .. the doctor said its 2mm and when it's become 4 mm it needs surgery. The time my sister told me I was shock .and many tears. I don't want to lost my sister & she live alone in japan. Work as a teacher .
@@BisayainHolland i am sorry to hear that. i don't know xtra dural. i had to google it. it seems your sister's aneurysm is small. i know this is a serious diagnostic regardless of the size ...but she will be fine. she will be followed andyou two follw the case and educate yourself..there are many groups on facebook on SAH stroke that you can join and ask all the questions ..you will get good information from the stroke survivors themselves. i strongly advise you to join....there are many groups. join a group for strokes in general ..then join a group about SAH stroke survivors
I work as a nurse in a neurologic intermediate care unit and we often have patients with SAH. I never seen doctors do a TCD and we only do CT's if we suspect acute vasospasm. What we do to monitor the patients is hourly GCS controls and strengths control of all the limbs. Do you know if there is a state of the art method for monitoring patients? Thanks for this great lecture!
Thank you so much for your teaching sessions, would you please please vedieos on disorders of different biochemical pathways ..eg disorders of fatty acid oxidation pathway , aminoacidopathies etc. Usual medical topics are easy but those biochemical/genetics topics are difficult. Your teaching method is excellent and those topics are becoming easily digestable. Thank you
Well done , you did for me in 1 hour what my professors couldn’t do during an whole semester
I wonder how much time and effort these heroes have put on this masterpieces
exactly
