Bell helmet you have the dust skirt witch makes the air flow seam to be less, more back pressure. The top flow is also better if you use a intercom, car to car radio system. The side air flow tends to blow on the microphone, creating wind noise when you try to communicate with passenger and other drivers. I have used both top and side inlets. They both have advantages, but if you put the dust skirt on the HJC helmet, your results would be more apples to apples. as fare as connecting the hose to the helmets, use the mag connection, that evens the plying field on both Helmets.
Really appreciate your comment and sharing your personal experience for others to make an informed decision. I do have a car to car radio/intercom system in both helmets. I have used the skirt on both and the HJC flows way more. My wife wears a Bell because she likes the transition lenses and styling of it. She also owns the HJC as well and on hot days she will wear the HJC due to its better air flow. Neither one of us have experienced wind noise through the coms of either style helmet. Again, thank you for sharing your experience.
It is recommended as you will loose a lot of volume. Here is a link to a bar mount plug that you just plug the hose onto when not in use. If you get one, make sure you get one with your bar diameter. amzn.to/3f2HaJ2

Thanks, Doug. Just found your channel and subscribed. Lots of great videos!
Thank you for the compliment and for subscribing!
Any issues with the air blowing over your mic.
Not with the helmet closed.
Do you have to plug the passenger air hose if you are driving solo?

@@hmtrimworks7148 Of course, thanks for watching!
Es resistente al agua?
Yo diría que es resistente al agua, no a prueba de agua.
Where did you find the HJC? I am having trouble finding one.

They finally have the helmets back in stock. I posted the link in the description above.
It isn’t worth a crap being sidemounted especially with the radio system complete havoc with the microphone
I have not experienced any problems with the radios or microphone from either style helmet. Sorry you have or had issues.
