  • MindQ has curated a compilation of the 15 most ancient figures and entities that have made appearances in both television and comics. Generally, the normal longevity of humans is approximately 100 years, although individuals who possessed a strong connection to the Force were capable of living up to 200 years. Emperor Palpatine, prior to his demise, had already reached the age of 117, however, he does not appear on this list. Even Chewbacca, who is 235 years old, is not considered sufficiently ancient. Additionally, we will not be incorporating force ghosts into the project.

An extremely slow digestion process and fairly efficient energy consumption rates.
The thing that might not make sense are his teeth, too big for something that prey things by swallowing them whole.
Although being that old might imply there's little to no variability in his species DNA which makes his carnivore teeth just vestigial ones, inherited from smaller, perhaps planet-dwelling ancestors.

They are silicon based lifeforms - they literaly eat asteroids. And teeth can be for digging.

@@franqusco My take: They aren't supposed to be titanic creatures, so their teeth are for their younger age, and as such, smaller size. Their teeth growing may be simply a byproduct of their own growth, and so the giant teeth become a rudimentary organ.

Abeloth from how I understood her in the source material, wasn't a "dark side entity" like the Son, but rather something else... While the Daughter was the Light Side, and the Son was the Dark Side, the pool that Abeloth drank from twisted her, that same pool holding both sides of the force as one, she then became Chaos to the Father's Order... In this way, you could argue that both the Father and Abeloth represented a balence in the Light and Dark, but Abeloth couldn't handle it(because she was previously mortal and untrained in the force at that), which is why it went out of control and the Father was more like the Bendu so it came naturally as breathing.

Ya that sums her up pretty well, also i love the fact that even when Luke was at his highest power he needed help to banish her, but couldnt defeat her and of all the things he feared would return, it was her, not Sidious, not the empire, not some new Sith Order, no it was her that haunted his nightmares as he openly stated that he wasnt sure if he would be able to stop her a second time if she ever found a way back from the void. (much like how Nihilus was always feared to someday return to the living world as both Jedi and Sith feared that this time he truly would consume the galaxy because of his hunger)

She drank from the Font of Power and bathed in the Pool of Knowledge. There wasn't one that contained both the light and dark sides of the Force. She might have been fine if she did only one, but doing both granted her far more power than she could have imagined and far more than she was capable of handling, which is why she went insane.

I love how this guy did practically no research. He completely left out the celestials (100,000+ yrs), Several surviving members of the Rakatan Empire (≈33,000 yrs), and several members of the swarm race that built CenterPoint Station (≈90,000 yrs). And those are the ones that I can name right off the top of my head. I know that there are several other entities in the books that claim to be over 100,000 years old.
He also completely incorrectly put the hyper space wars 20,000 years further in the future than they were. 5000 BBY was the first great Sith war. this age was when the Jedi performed some of their greatest atrocities, such as turning Hoth into an ice pit after slaughtering 20,000 children, sorry, I mean Padawans, to save the lives of a few Jedi Masters (it might’ve actually been 100,000, but I don’t quite remember. All I remember is that the Jedi are monsters). This was also the time of Exar Kun and Nomi Sunrider, arguably some of the greatest Jedi and Sith that have ever lived.
(Edit: the great hyper space war that I remember reading about as a kid took place in 25,000 BBY. I’ve always known the war in 5000 BBY as the great (1st) Sith war. and I remember the great hyper space war being a war fought primarily with swords and Proto sabers and muskets.)

Abeloth is OVER 100,000 years old according to the Jedi's interpretation of the murals that the Killiks have. An actual age is impossible to determine. She's the destroyer from Kesh legend and likely perpetrated many other "galaxy resets" before that.
The Ones "ages" are indeterminate, as the Killiks believe. Their reply to them was something like "One cannot be born from what one is" or something wacky like that. Indicating that they existed as the Force before becoming distinct entities.

@@bludek89 It may be true for Coruscant, but I think to the OP point, the concept of “years” and time may be a a different construct depending on the planet and beings that live on those planets.
“Years” is just a reference point so that we can understand the general “age” of the being when we say “Yoda is about 900 YEARS old”. To some beings, they may say to each other “I’m 400 Sun cycles old” which may equal our 900 earth years.

    • @bludek89

@@ONI1013. i get it, i was just explaining that they use Coruscant as base for measuring time(years) or "Galactic Standard Time" how they call it. Im assuming that was his question about, because there is no Earth in SW galaxy to base it of our measurements. Its what they do in most SF`s so its not to confusing or complicated to the audience. they just standardize it out of something for everyone to use. Star Trek got a bit deeper into it with its Star Dates but SW is more Science Fantasy so it doesn`t go into science/logic side too much like ST does

If you're a writer and you think ages for characters is stupid, I'm not guessing you don't have many book sales. Age is very relevant for the personality of a character because it's a known fact that life experiences shape a person's personality and beliefs, how long someone has lived is an indicator of how much time they have had to be shaped by the world they live in. And if that's not something you knew.... well i suck at writing and i know that.
