The Cats full performance at the 2nd World Harmonica Festival held by Hohner in Trossingen , Germany, 1989. Jerry Murad on Lead, Bob Bauer on Chords and Dick Gardner on Bass
I am 96 y.o. Since the fifties, I have enjoyed listening to The Harmonicats and watched many short movies that were exhibited before the principal films....
It's hard to believe Jerry was 71 when this was recorded and he passed away 1996 at 78 yrs old. What a lung capacity at that age !!!!!! I love these guys!!!!
@TheHarmonicats I just learned about your dad, The Harmonicats and the wonderful contribution of your father's cool mic to the Shure archives! Our historian shared the great story in a newsletter, so I came to hear the Harmonicats, how fantastic!
I remember as a kid walking through Muirs drug store in the 60's listening to these fellas. That beautiful background music was perfect for the times. Anytime I hear harmonica music being played my heart races to those wonderful times. Lord I miss those times, 52 years go.
I can remember sitting on my Dad's lap when I was a kid and watching these guys on so many different shows from that era. Thank you so much for those pleasant memories that have been recalled because of this video. A very heartfelt "Thank you"!!!
I come from Baltimore, Maryland, the same city Harmonica great Larry Adler came from. He lived on Bryant Avenue across from Mondowmin mall. His father was a plumber,,,,at least I think he was. I too play the harmonica, all types of music.
Increíbles... Yo crecí con los Harmonicats ... When I was 8 I learned to play the harp... Mi tío Antonio Colmenares me enseñó... God bless him for that...
I was just listening to a guy on the internet play Summertime on a chromatic harmonica. Imagine him on a record or CD? It's fun and enjoyable to play the harmonica, but something is missing from this guy. The Harmonicats on the other hand, they can play!!!
I’d like to hear about 12 hours of this non-stop. I’m thinking I could use it to pay back my neighbors for their accordion music. Do that for 20 years…

Thank you Jerry! The only reason I took up harmonica... The Harmonicats!
I enjoyed this video performance. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Jerry Murad was born on December 1, 1918. So he was 71 at this concert.

Dror, do you have any cat's footage with Fiore or Stagg on them?
Are you related to Larry Adler?
probably not, Dror is Israeli and Jerry was born in Istanbul
