THAT was entertainment! My Mom & Dad took me to see these guys when I was a kid and I never laughed so much in my life! Thanks for posting this. I want my grand kids to see this group. Thanks!
My dad was Victor Pace and played with Johnny and Borrah Minevitch. Was hoping to find some video with him in it. Seeing all these videos and listening to the music I grew up with is heartwarming. Brings back alot of wonderful memories from my childhood.
My father in law was George Whitcomb. He played with Johnny. I know he was on the Ed Sullivan show a few times, but I'm not sure if he's in this one. I can't really see the faces clearly. I just wondered if your dad knew him.
@@j.w.3345 I honestly dont know. I was pretty young if not even born when he was with the band regularly and he never appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Mr. Puleo and his band are so talented, I did not know them and laugh, wonderful marriage of music and comedy, I love seeing these talented harmonica and I'm happy!
I think this was great I am 65 & remember this I'm glad I found this again - put these type shows back on & take off this talent search type shit - I also got to see Milton Berle in Las Vegas - I never laughed so much like watching him now - kids do not know what they are missing
Well, I remember as the De Paul student at younger age as I first met Johnny Puleo with his Hatmonica Gang on tour in Pittsburgh, Pa. Johnny Paleo and his Harmonica Gang finally made our audience to laugh a lot. Then the photographer took a photo of Johnny Paleo and me so together. So that I like Hatmonica Gang with Johnny Paelo at best in my recognized memior. Christa D'Auria
I remember these skits from my childhood. The smallest comic was sometimes Billy Barty, and earlier skits were done by Vaudeville players. Burlesque style humor can still make audiences laugh, despite the PC intolerances now so ubiquitous.
A little guy but a great uncle for sure! Years ago I saw him as the Mystery Guest Coffin Opener for Chicago TV horror movie host Svengoolie (aka Jerry G Bishop, not Rich Koz).
Ray Welcom is the harmonica player in the Zebra print vest with black pants, dark shirt, and purple scarf with dark navy hat. Now 74 years young, you can see him here: th-cam.com/video/ns64dEi75V0/w-d-xo.html
Gee, I wonder if that's because Johnny Puleo was a member of the Harmonica Rascals (not the Harmonica Gang) during the 1940s, and started his Harmonica Gang after the original promoter died. In other words, he took the act that he originated in the first group and continued to perform it with his own group. Funny how the people who know the least feel compelled to talk the most, isn't it?
My mom always talks about Johnny Puleo. Showing her this clip made her day. Thank you.
My great uncle never got to meet him rip Johnny and my poppa august puleo Sicilian love
Johnny Puleo's face was more expressive than his harmonica. Amazing how he put all those emotions across without a word.

Boy does that bring back memories, I watched that LIVE on our TV when it was broadcast and it is still as funny NOW as it was then!
The good old days, gone for ever
Memories never can be taken away.
just a great thing to see have to share with others thank you for having it here
what a bunch of funny people! amazing how easily berle blended with such a classic act, like they'd been together for a long time. hilarious.
Back when talent was needed to succeed in show biz.
Saw him years ago with the sgro brothers! In fact he sat on my lap! What a great show and night!
These guys and the Harmonicats were the ones that got me started on this path. And if you close your eyes I look just like Johnny Puleo

Johnny showing up on the SCTV parody of "Ocean 11" after all those years was too weird.

Total rip of of Morton Frazer and his Harmonica gang from the 40s.
