Not only jainism, this was a practise for every ancient indians, previously, also given in ayurveda. But due to jobs, desires, and also less nutrient food leads to early hungry, we changed our life style from 2 times to 3 times.
Hindus copy every thing and claim there is....All there gods carry weapon s but claim they believe in non violence😂.only Jain Tirthankar are in mediation pose. 90 % of Hindus eat non vegetarian but they claim they are vegetarian . hypocrisy is part of Hindus

Our digestion system isn't very good in mornings. So I dont eat till about 12. And also late eating isn't very good. So i dont eat after about 3 or 4pm. U say 6.30 pm. That's far too late. 6 or 6.30pm is late eating.
Jainism has the best way of life, its far more advanced than today's science! Its principles if followed, shall always do enhancement & upliftment of the soul ... which should be our ultimate objective.

Ayurveda also states that Agni dies after sunset so digestion is hard after that, hence eat before sunset and allow gap before sleeping. Glad Jains still follow this, but this was known by everyone in our ancient times, not everyone practices it.

10 years ago in our village also people used to do dinner at 7:00 pm but from when TV, phone came to our village , our village is no more like a before , Now people used to eat around 9 or 10 pm.
Yes, very true....i used to see my Grandfather have his dinner by 6.30 pm...and then all the others used to eat....lights (lamps, those days) off by 7.30pm....
In Islam...dinner is served after magrib prayer i.e around 6 pm and after magrib prayer there is Isha prayer...which indirectly help in digestion of food . Islam is such a beautiful religion...on one hand it connects us with God and on the other hand it solves our daily problems ❤ mashallah

Agree with you early dinner is very beneficial for our body, I used to take dinner at 9 before when I was not aware about this concept but now since last 1 year I have started finish my dinner by 7 (before that my working hours don't allow) so I genuinely noticed that my body is more happy because I feel light when I go to bed at 10 and in the next morning my gut gets clean properly because food got enough time for digestion last night....
I always have my dinner late, and my parents always tell me to take my meals on time, but I don't listen to them. After watching this video and understanding that the cleansing and healing process can be done best only if we take our meals on time, I will definitely change my eating habits.

Firstly its not possible for most of the corporate employees. We leave the office at 7-8pm or even late, reaches home traveling 1hr+ (gurugram to Delhi). Ends up eating dinner around 10pm minimum. Can't eat dinner in office. In weddings dinner counter starts after 8:30-9pm. Many popularly family restaurants for dinner open at 8pm and serve till late night. On Sundays also, 8pm we start cooking dinner. Its absolutely normal. What I mean is that we have became habitual of having late dinner. Body has adapted this. One stay healthy by eating late also. Just 30mins walk after eating is fine..
I am from a Hindu family . Even in my childhood also we finish our dinner by 6 pm every day . Not only in Jains and Hindus most of the world followed this i think , bcoz they don’t have any office work after 4 pm so they came early to home and finish their dinner as early as possible bcoz they used to wake up early in the morning .

But even big cities like Mumbai, Delhi etc etc there are so many people with shifts till even 8.00pm, still managing to follow it, they have dinner before sunset, it's about determination... the dedication to follow the words of the tirthankara that keeps them going...

These all good and logical. My friend always used to follow these rules by 6.30pm dinner finished. Food less spicy.less oily etc irrespective of all she was diagnosed with cancer and we lost her. She was not even 60years
The whole subcontinent used to eat before sunset and there used to be two meals a day one Brunch around 0930-10AM and dinner before sunset. We grew up eating like that only. This is still prevalent in most of the villages.
In olden days this was practised by everybody...my mother n father grew up like this when I was young our dinner was till 9 but now I am adult and dinner time is 11 coz of jobs nd studies

Unfortunately coming from a jain family we (my parents and me) cannot able to follow this "chovihar" But my grandparents do it we will try to follow after certain age

We follow this from last 4 month my husband sugar levels control within 15 to 20 days...and my body also feel lighter and more active😊

The whole subcontinent used to eat before sunset and there used to be two meals a day one Brunch around 0930-10AM and dinner before sunset. We grew up eating like that only. This is still prevalent in most of the villages.

In olden days this was practised by everybody...my mother n father grew up like this when I was young our dinner was till 9 but now I am adult and dinner time is 11 coz of jobs nd studies

It's very unfortunate the influence of Abrahamic religion has started to destroy our Indian Subcontinent culture.
No wonder it is easy for you to do that .For others it will take time , effort and discipline to not eat anything from sunset to sunrise 😊
