    Grease is disgusting!!!!!!! full of all types of chemicals, poisons n toxins. Not only for your hair n skin but also the environment. If ur natural use natural oils, aloe vera gel not no nasty grease.

      @@harrisjanae r u serious? U can google or read the label since u own a jar.. But 4 starters its 1st ingredient is petrolatum, in which is petroleum jelly, in which is gasoline. U know the same thing u put in a car. It's also not refined in the US which means that it has hella PAH's (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) these r just to name a couple n the main reason natural people stopped using it.

      Okay and what do you think Black Hebrew Israelites aka slaves (to dumb it down for you) used to use. They did have aloe vera anymore because they weren't home in there land. So yes they use Lard, cooking oils, and Vaseline when it can out and had hair longer than your probably and what about it. Get off your. High horse and come back to reality

    • @quinn4147
      @quinn4147 4 ปีที่แล้ว +161

      Oh I forgot and the probably had to make their own hair products from the earth when my Israelite ancestors were in their land. But as you can see we aren't there and before you go and say we can get a hold of better products now news flash you can't because even the aloe that you love so much is not the real thing. It is genetically modified real aloe is supposed to grow so big you cannot keep it in the house it blooms a red flower in South Africa.

      @@quinn4147 GMO Aloe Vera is waaaaay better than using gasoline. If it floats yo boat use it. But remember just because something worked before doesnt mean that it is safe to use n that long term effects wont be detrimental. Most of our grandmas n greats n greats all died of cancer and all kinds of other sicknesses n we dont know if it was from what they put in their hair. The crown of your head is the most sensitive part of the body and is a gateway. And I hear you but it's not for me to use blue magic. My parents never used it and I didnt even start until I was grown n only for a short amount of time bc I woke up in my early 20s n went natural. Some people in the comments dont know that petrolatum is the major ingredient n they will know now and that's all I care about

      Grease grew my hair back in the day, but my mom always said there was something wrong with it. She used to tell me grease is cheap, but the oils like what we used in Africa cost a fortune. She said who knows what all those chemicals in that grease will do to us one day. She was right, when I got older, it turned on me. I now have overactive sebaceous glands and my scalp flakes like crazy if I use any petroleum products. Now both my mother and I try to keep our products as natural as possible. Now many , many relaxers , color treatments, etc. later - I wish my hair looked like it used to in the seventies and eighties . I went natural two years ago and in a much better place but set backs are apart of our journeys too. They teach us what works and what does not. Honestly I am just old school and love hair grease. Your results look great. God bless you in your hair journey.

I only used water and vaseline and combed through my bangs and then I went outside to play. My cousin and a couple of our friends were like wow! Who put those curls in your head? I said I did! 😁 I could not stop smiling because I was feeling so creative at that moment. Sometimes my mom used to wash my hair and put lotion on my wet hair to give my ponytails a curly look at the ends. Growing up I had long thick hair with my grease until I started with all the new products and then the LOC and the LCO regimens. In short, my hair texture changed, my hair broke and I had cut everything off and start over. As if I did not learn I was still trying the so called products for high porosity with no good result. I am going right back to my good old grease thank you.

    Love your personality!!! Stay happy and enjoy doing videos. Love it. I am going back to hair grease myself. Mostly all the products out there that are vegan free, sulfate and mineral free are really drying my hair out. I had enough!!! Back to the old school way!!!❤❤❤❤❤

    Grease is really making a comeback. As black peoples who are very natural people in many ways, keeping it simple is key. Brands are saying we need like ten products at once when all we need is some good moisturizer and grease lol. Your hair looks very healthy and beautiful!

    Nicely done 👍😊 Yes a lot of our parents use blue magic grease. I used it in my daughter hair. And still use it in my hair today. I tried all types of hair products. From different videos. It was just to much for me. All the different chemical started changing my hair. My hair started falling out. So Just last August 2019 I when back to the way my mom taught me. Now my hair is in better condition. I thank it better to do our hair the way it works for our self's. Thank for the video. You was such a delight.😇💯💖✨🌈☀️🌳

    Just make sure that you put your moisturizer/leave in cream on hair 1st, oil and grease will seal the moisture in. Right now, I’m tired of getting pimped by these hair care folks. All “natural” products--I had to add additional oils to my conditioners anyway to make it do what it needed to do. Formulas started changing and acting differently on my hair. Smh. All I remember is that when that pink lotion and grease got used on my hair as a little girl-moist, strong and long. I had to learn my hair porosity though. Warm/hot water to open hair cuticles, thinner oils and lotions for leave-in moisture, oil (olive or avocado) to seal in moisture, and grease on the ends of hair to real seal and protect.
    Tired of my wash day taking forever and all of the expensive products that really don’t work as promised or just okay. I use reg. shampoo, reg. conditioner and add extra olive oil to it. Coconut oil slathered on hair to help w/ detangling (let it sit on hair under a cap while I do laundry or something else). Finger detangling then comb-wide-tooth, pink lotion, oil mix to seal (olive, avocado & Jamaican Black castor oil) and blue magic on the ends for the twist up. Sometimes heat cap w/ conditioner. Just tired of the all day foolishness. Go back to what was simple and worked best for our hair. Just because something costs more, that does not make it better. Do what is best for your schedule and your hair. Good luck✌🏾

      Vblack Sugar honestly think that the natural hair industry tuned us against the basics because they knew we would jump on the product train to get our coins 😂 .. but to tell the truth I always been a lazy natural but I also always had long hair so I never became a product junkie kept it basic and simple !! Best of luck to you and your journey 🥰

    Love using grease. Sometimes I mix a little bit of grease and a little bit of conditioner in my palm and use it to braid/twist. Or spritz a little water on the hair and add grease. The best part is that when using grease, you don’t really have to reapply after the first application-just spray more water and it reactivates it. I also believe that using grease helps on wash day. Hair isn’t as tangled (to me at least) and it’s an amazing sealant for your ends. Whenever I do flexi rod sets the last inch of my hair I coat heavily with grease before putting on the rod and ends are so juicy

    I’m in the process of combing out my 4 year old locs. I’ve decided to incorporate grease during this next loose natural phase. When I first “went natural” back in 2013, there was so much product confusion and EVERYTHING was anti-grease. I’m seeing now that the tide has turned a bit. It legit does help reduce breakage and retain length by protecting your strands. My hair’s been loving grease again. I’ve been using the Softee Indian Hemp grease (looooove the smell 😂).

      @Tamika Hardy the thing is, they used to know that grease was a game changer but once the natural have movement came about and all the Nazis surfaced all of a sudden grease became a sin. Now that they see those $30 products isn't causing any magic to their strands they're slowly going back to some of the old school practices.
