    I had this done. I recommend anyone with hints of bone loss to get it done. All my upper body numbers increased dramatically after I recovered. The key here is to do the shit out of pt. Seriously, double up on that bitch. I experienced little to no pain because I pushed through it 4 days after surgery and loosened everything up with pendulums while most people are too afraid to do anything because they re in so much pain. I can do anything now. 200 pull-up workouts, 1500 pushups, swimming, skydiving. No issues at all! I highly recommend it. There was also a study done on pro athletes who had it done and 98% of them returned to the sports and continued competing. All good promises here given your doc is competent and you do your part.

      @@Perkz42O I am doing great. It's been more than a year. All of my lifts are at the highest they have ever been (including bench and OP). The pain is still there but it is almost nonexistent. The first few weeks are the worst in terms of pain and hope. Get into PT and mobility work as soon as you are able to. It will hurt but you must push through it and do PT to get the best results. The sooner you get it moving, the less pain you will have down the road and the quicker you can return to sports. You will be just fine! Good on you for having the courage to go through with this. It will definitely be worth it in the end. Have patience. Best of luck.

    Finally found someone who on the same boat as me! I recently had laterjet surgery 4-5 months (back in May). I suffered with shoulder dislocation for 19 years before I had the surgery done. I’m currently still going through recovery and recent got back to work. My work place is involves a lot of heavy duty and I’m doing so fine so far. I can see I was stronger than I was before surgery but still long way to go!
    For training wise I used to do a lot of boxing training and I’m still early to return to boxing training as my physio doc said if I can manage to do lots of push ups I can try boxing training again.
    Before surgery I taught myself to train as southpaw but really I’m right handed. But because I had problems with my left shoulder I can’t throw double jabs and hooks in orthodox stance with the affected arm back then. Now I’m healed up and when I can try boxing training again I’m thinking to stick with southpaw as I’m comfortable with it for many years now but I’m thinking to try and do orthodox again.
    It still a long way to go for me as I left to have my surgery way late. I’m nearly 35 and I had my first shoulder dislocation when I was 15 years old.

      yo bro, i just had this surgery 7 weeks in the process, now doing physio started at 3 weeks with still no strength training till 12 week mark, but so far my physiotherapist and doctor both said there is a more chance of my shoulder dislocating in my good arm then the one i had surgery on and feels super solid, i got injured when i was 15 and had more then 60 diclocations til i got the surgery now being 18 i highly recommend this surgery it will change your future for your shoulder, i had to get it from having bone loss in my shoulder socket from so many dislocations

      @@danielhenderson4700I've had this problem from the time I was 16 till I was 22. I'm 6 years post surgery now but I haven't hit the gym or trained hard to strengthen my shoulder. I have worked many hard labor jobs and still feel pretty strong but I do live with everyday pain. Personally I can't lay on that shoulder to sleep and I'm afraid to throw a punch in fear of breaking again and I can't cuddle my wife for more than 10 minutes without hurting but again I haven't done any training to strengthen my shoulder. I'm hoping it isn't too late for me and I can make up for the years. Don't be like me bro stick to your program and I hope your road to recovery is prosperous.

    Hi mate jus about to have this laterjet procedure on my left , it’s my jabbing arm , dose it click and clunk while throwing the jab ? And is the rib cage muscle okay as I understand they are removed from the coracoid ?? and is there any deformity there ?

    • @craigd2352
      @craigd2352 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rib cage isn’t removed from the corcoroid the corcoroid is lowered and screwed into the glenoid but the muscles attached to the corcoroid are still attached and not messed with and as a matter the muscles are actually protected more when the corcoroid is moved

    • @irfandokal6638
      @irfandokal6638 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rib cage muscle is removed from the coracoid... and it feels shit! The smaller bicep is still on the coracoid and acts like a sling effect on the humeral head...
      I have my left shoulder done the latarjet and it feels really bad...cant even move my arm normal....external rotation is bad... internal rotation is even worse... shoulder pops like a 1000 times a day and my shpulder is constantly sub-luxating... dokter told me the coracoid was in the right position...but i think this operation is complete BS.

      @craigd2352 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Irfan Dokal that sucks man yeah I’ve been hearing bad things about it I’m currently on week 10 since surgery and it’s still very painful although they say it’s stable it feels like when I’m moving my arm I’m forcing to even lift it whereas just normally lifting your arm feels like muscle memory is doing it for you whereas for the surgical shoulder feels like I have to think to even lift that arm if you get what I mean I hope in time it will get better I’m a fighter and I’m missing it a lot
