Amazing work brother, been looking all over the internet for something like that, really underrated gem. it's amazing how this game is still really unsettling to this day. I also love how the infected ships keeps the voices of the original crew, but it's distorted enough for you to know that there's something really off. To this day, The Beast really scare the sh*t out of me
Thank you for posting this, also, I'll always find that Nomad Moon audio clip haunting. I can't believe the audio designer nailed thousands of people being melted down to nerve endings over radiowaves, gruesome stuff.
The creepiest thing to me is thr Infection Beam emitters. Those fleshy spikes coming out of the Heavy Cruiser Carrier and Command Ship. They're the most alien part of this whole thing.
It wouldn't be impossible to recreate it even without the original source code. The ship stats are known and cut scenes could be remade in a new engine. If a dedicated team cared enough and had the budget they could produce something that would be close enough to the original to satisfy the Cataclysm fans.
@@jc441-i3qcataclysm won't exist since the devs have no reason why to develop it in the first place like there is no any value behind it, besides cataclysm is already a relic that no new people would know (please heal my pessimism)
@@HyperspaceTraveler More accurately, there is an unused, fully textured Infected Kushan Missile Destroyer buried in Cataclysm's files. It just doesn't have any SHP file set up for it. Though the build manager has hardcoded entry limits anyway. Relatedly, there is also an Infected Kushan Ion Cannon Frigate in the files. It even has an SHP file already set up for it, unlike the aforementioned Infected Missile Destroyer. Interestingly though, it's part of "race_derelict", and is labelled as "dIonArrayFrigate"
Yeah! Sort of! Most of subverted ships will cycle between generic responses, such as "receiving" or "roger that", especially the Kushan and Taiidan models.
I like how you use a representation of the faction's people for human scale, and here you used *The Meatman*
That "bio-circuitry" was your own Kiith brothers and sisters not so long ago.

At least Kiith Soomtaw helped to euthanize them later on.
Hiigarans during the beast war "Maybe sand planet wasn't all that bad"

I applaude your dedication towards showing off meatman as much as possible!
Man, I'm so sad the source code for Cataclysm was lost... Just imagine how creepy these ships would look in a Remastered setting...
I still have hope

@@Vivany26 we would know. We're not mad, just scared. As scared as you.
After Homeworld 3 we better leave it alone...
Wish there was a remaster of this game.
I am getting strong Tiberian Sun vibes from the voice acting.
This is not a bad thing at all.
Just want to say, I really appreciate your work. Always love to see some Cataclysm content ;D
Yo you should do the Taiidan Republic ships as well!
No spoilers, but I plan to do entire classic Kushan, Taiidan AND Turanic ships soon! Take “soon” as “anytime in the next decade haha”.
Imagine if Sajuuk got infected by space-herpes (Beast). That would be bad news indeed.
Nagarok would have won thanks to its speed and "deconstruction/harvesting" beam
Good job, Keep up the good work.
Loveed this
Now put these on a drive for people to enjoy.
There are no homeworld models available out there
Missle destroyer??
It never made to the final game, though

Крики на коробле кли сан .как и тогда муражки по коже 😮
первый звук испорченного Кли-сана - это крики, так что... XD
You got the voice lines associated with the ships being subverted? It's hard to find a video with them.

@@HyperspaceTraveler I was more talking about the screaming and voice lines associated with them being subverted.
@@kabob0077 Oh yeah! It was so much fun digging to find them! :D
@@HyperspaceTraveler Nice!
Well i dont see before rocket cruiser and taidan ion fregat!
Although the Taiidan Ion Frigate in shown drawn in some cutscenes and the model exists, it was never put in game as a functional unit

I think that guy standing next to the ships has hemorrhoids.
