Just wanted to say that you saved my day with this video. I'm working on a 2006 Malibu and ran into the same problem. I actually thought I ordered the wrong axle.
@1:50 To tap that Intermediate Shaft off: I just took it w/left hand by the Intermediate Shaft, keeping under the angle (~45-60 degree w/vertical) close to the ground w/soft grass and knocked the Axle w/hammer (3 lbs). It came off on the 2nd or 3rd knock. I was wearing just rubber smooth gloves, if they would be untislip it would be even easier. @4:05 Do you need to put any lubricant, like Transmission Fluid, before you tap Intermediate Shaft on the CV Axle? And how you can tell that it is tapped enough, just by pull? The film is great, thank you.
I have this exact issue with the passenger side of my 2010 chevy malibu LS 2.4 L, 4 cyl, 4 speed. Been trying to find a forever about this. Wish that part could just be purchased. It's stupidly impossible to find.
Also how do you get the old one 🤔 off cuz theirs a new one at the junkyard but im not trying to destroy it lol.😁 I guess a pry par in between the end of axle & tranny case ..I figure
I have a 03 Camry 3.0v6 it has 123,000 on it. Keep in mind I bought the car one yr ago so motor wise I don't know if the guy did regular maintenance. Anyways about 30 days ago I started seeing a little smoke out the tailpipe at start up don't last long. Anyways I removed the oil cap and what I can see looks sludgy. I was told not to flush it because it could make it worse. What do you think? One more thing I only lose maybe a quarter of a quart between oil changes.
Ok so, I have an 08 HHR non SS, When I brakle the front left shudders REAL bad. Ive replaced the brakes, rotor, hub, tire rod end on the left side and still it persists. What else could it be?
Watch the lower control arm videos I had the same problem basically all you do is set the e brake and push on the wheel to see if it deflects back an inch which mine did
Got an 06 hhr n watched yur video too late.got rid of old cv.i knew i shouldve saved it.U got sum educational vids n u seen 100.im all by myself on this.been without a ride now 3 weeks.soon as we popped it n it drove for 2 days solid.then got bumpy when braking then it popped out.im lost now.I just replaced my c v axel n it popped out 2 days later.it looked like the piece on the new axle broke off into the Trans but I think it goes over the stud sticking out from the Trans .it went back on but not all the way n is stuck now.wth!.sway bar link I'm but to change.u think if I hit the cv on the end with a piece of wood it'll pop in all the way?all this is on the front driver's side btw.
U have no choice now .. use the wood & tap the opposite end u should see it seat fully like in this video... try to pull on it when your done should be minimal movement .

just clean the adaptor hold it with a shop towel and tap the old cv axle much easier
What is the little bearing on the inside where you put that in

Are both sides like this? Both have the mini shaft or just the passenger side?
