I've had my 2014 Forester XT for just over a month now. The selection of drive modes makes it quite the interesting vehicle. Very quick & fun to drive. Took her out on sleet covered roads last weekend & played a bit when no traffic was around. Really have to get on it to make her break loose to lose traction. Nav package is the only negative I have with the XT. Bottom line is I'm 58 years old & have had a lot of vehicles over the years. This XT is the most exciting as it can be very quick, but also the most fuel efficient depending on how you want to drive it.
Robert LeBlanc Kent Heiderich I've had my XT since March, and got 26 MPG on the last tank, with a mix of highway and mostly city driving back and forth to work. I stepped on it hard twice (it's hard to resist), but was pretty easy on the throttle otherwise. After the initial break-in, I got about 21 MPG on a tank in which I stayed on the throttle (and smiled like a little kid) constantly. On purely highway driving, I get 30+ if I keep it to 60 MPH, and about 27-28 if I get up above 75 MPH.
I have a 2014 XT Premium...it REALLY flies on the Van Wyck Expressway at 3 in the morning on the way to JFK Airport. Always feel a rush of power and the handling / grip is excellent. Wish I could've tested it out during Hurricane Sandy but I had a Juke AWD at the time which did alright as well. For the ultimate thrill, at 6 in the morning on Saturdays when there is no traffic, get on the entrance to the FDR Drive and drive all the way to the Queensboro bridge..lotsa twists and straightaways.
kidding me? I traded in my 370Z for this one because of the potential of the new engine and loading capabilities. The CVT on this new model can handle at least 400 torque. I smoked a genesis the other day with my 2014 forester stock. And it actually has more boost than the new wrx.
Yep, the turbo is mounted in the front centre of the engine, not offset to the side, which would call for unequal length headers, which is what causes the rumble
there is not much SUV that can drive in this circuit.. amazing 180 km/h on corners for a big tall SUV. This is the best among the RAV4, TUCSON, CX5, CRV, TIGUAN, X-TRAIL, ESCAPE etc.. would the MACAN smoke this in the ring ?
The Macan would absolutely smoke it, but it would also cost 50% more for a base Macan S... The CX5 handles better, but can't match the XT turbo engine's output. The rest you mentioned would not stand a chance.
This is a troll car. People at the traffic light will be trolled by it when you blow them away by the unsuspecting power inside this "ugly" workmen Compact SUV
i driver cars for a leasing agency so I dealt with a lot of CVTs. Subaru has the best CVT on the market in my opinion, while Nissan has one of the worst
CVT's are excellent on vehicles like this that don't have very high torque. If I am going to buy a vehicle, it will have a manual, CVT, or dual clutch transmission (a PDK I guess, too, but probably won't ever spend that much). CVT's will hopefully completely replace standard automatics.
I personally don't like CVT's but Subaru's emulates an automatic so i can tolerate it. I think the CVT's people really hate are those with that rubberbandy feel
Surprised he ran that in the stock leather seats. It feels like you're sitting on the couch, hardly any support. I popped in some STI Recaro seats, so much better.
and please don't compare this to the Rav4. Just buy one and see for yourself. As I've said before I've owned a g35 and a 370z. I know what I'm talking about.
This detailed video of an SUV on the legendary Nurburgring just shows you the pedigree of this Forester. It is by far one of a kind.
bought the seemingly last unit of the 2018 XT. great SUV.
only owners know how great the xt really is
This is clear true! XT is a gem!
Real hidden gem, after 300k km and still works
GOSH) HELLO MAN))
Just picked up an identical 2014 XT. This is by far the best vehicle I’ve owned. Love messing with wrx’s and sti’s
Rip Forester XT..you will be missed
My one is still alive and kicking :-)
@@JaggedMercenary Its Subaru official info?

can you tell me what is the fuel consuption in your Forester? A friend of mine had 2008 XT and it burned 18l/100km when he pushed it hard.
I get 24 to 25 mpg around town and 27 to 33 mpg highway.
Kent Heiderich Fuel economy wants? Ok, just look on Tiguan 2TDI or Mazda CX-5 (2.2 Diesel)
Kent Heiderich Those mpg claims are hard to believe, especially the city driving value.

This subaru has an inbelivieble behaviour !! And the driver is excellent !! I love Subaru !!
Pro dude drives my family car on Nurburgring at 180+ and talks like I do on my school run

Haha, 3 in the morning is about the only time the VW doesn't have traffic.
Okkkk shout out ny haha. I have a 2.5i 6mt looking at the xt now.

You can try with Genesis G70 3.3T
No you didn’t

SJG乗ってるけど最高だわ
しばらく手放すつもりはない
Just to remind every one that this version is Japanese forester XT which rated 280HP compared to US 250HP and Australia 240HP
Is it just a tuning thing? Do you know how to change it?
@@devonpeters9458 yeah japanese always tune their car higher.
280hp with the same cvt like the European 240hp xt?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe JDM models had an ATF cooler.
Notice spark flying on wheel rims at 4:23. Wondering if it's heavy braking
probably the debris striking the rims
+Chong Gui Zhao do you think? I guess it was probably some shaving rims as consequence of excesive presure and acceleration.
best regards
やっぱこのSJGフォレスターが最盛期だったな... もうターボ復活は無いのかな😥
CVTじゃなければ尚良かった
FORESTER, the best!
ヨーロッパ車に負けない車だなぁ😍✨😍✨
燃費はAWDの為.......、でも本当に良い車です。また出して欲しいスバルさん!!!
The next stage of Forester Live is Chapman's Peak in Africa. Does anyone have a video of that?
Interested in the lap time.
Defo want one of these XT's next. Remarkable car, even when driven hard.
A few good ones still for sale in the UK, decent price as well.
フォレスターでは 駆動系で最高傑作だと思う!
i got my 2018 Forester XT, last Turbo ~

Why are the horsepower output different in various markets? Due to octane level? Any difference in the internals?
Octane levels mostly, but I think emissions regulativet play a part too. But software is the online difference, the oily bits should be identical.

I would like to see larger sway bars .
I have the car, how the hell can I get his jacket?!
awesome car, but the boxer rumble is pretty much gone with the 2.0
where can i watch the rest of the videos?
Been searching myself.. Found the Tommi Makkinen one.
good driver , good car !
Would be interesting to know how it do against a AUDI Q5RS.
th-cam.com/video/dY5TRIQKSuw/w-d-xo.html My Forester with some upgrades.
.... time on ring?!
How was the lap time?
I it's a cvt version like in US, then this car is great. Did pretty well for a cvt
Can the new outback xt do this? Let's hope it does.
Wont be as fast when cornering as the suspension is softer, but equal in straights.
can the diesel version show performance similar to this under these circumstances? performance wise etc

Constantine Joseph Done that with my XT, pretty satisfying
+Constantine Joseph Troll car? You mean a sleeper? And the new XT is not ugly lmao
Constantine Joseph lol. That's why i love mine.
i think the term you're looking for is "sleeper"
xCkillaxC No, not ugly, but not exactly inspiring either
И какое время прохождения круга?
So what was the time?
Fact: the driver didn't use the paddle shifters.
nice watch! what brand is it?
Why shortshift?
wish they show the laptime. must have been slow.
Ah, it feels good to see all the cvt haters be stumped just to how this car can do so well with a ' shitty ' transmission.

@@aaronalbert6985 but those are the quicker ones... Cvt emulating shifts, aka fake shifts, just make the 0 to 60 mph speed slower..
When it comes to actually making realpower, yes CVTs are shit, especially from Subaru. This car makes maybe 210hp to the wheel.

やっぱりSJGだよね
where is the lapt time?
Sound like a electric car
no helmet??
?? in germany we drive 160mph on autobahn with family inside ;-)
I wish you the best...thought maybe helmet required on track.

for driving ,lol? we use helmets when marching across borderline into other countries f.e. :D
with SUBARU helmet not required and not recommneded also
