- More highlights than crashes because there was only really 2 all day, both caused by some optimistic interpretation of available space for a move. Seeing Mini's back for the first time in a decade was a particular highlight and one that we would greatly like to see return. Insane to think that the last one make Mini race to take place here was Mighty Mini's in 2011! Kinda sad when you think about it...

Ah, the mighty minis - some of the best motor racing I’ve ever seen! I miss Mallory Park!
The mini championships really should be making more of an effort to come here its such a perfect place for it. bet those 2 races were awesome
Never ceases to amaze me how out of shape you can get a Mini and still get round the corner so fast....... just keep it pinned, no lift off oversteer here please.......

I used to live very close to MP , so I went every weekend there ws a race on . Very tight , small track , MP caught a lot of people out . Some brilliant racing I watched there . Fond memories
Brilliant seeing Minis back after a long time, think half that grid are mini 7 guys who've not raced there since the 90's!! And the classic touring cars were being driven like a championship was on the line. Great stuff! Hope its back next year
Daft that we don't get mini 7's or Mightys anymore. But it's one of the many genres of british car racing that's been absent here for far too long. Some names in that mini race at the weekend that I grew up watching here
Love the original Mini's not the obese ugly dung buckets punched out by BMW!
@@PescaraProductions Agreed, the championships for Minis really overlook this place massively whch is odd considering thruxton and brands are often both featured on their calendars for the same show they can provide here too

What a horrible man driving the grey mini at 3 minutes. Forced the other mini off the track and didn't even go to see if the driver was OK... should be ashamed of himself.
Austin A40 spinning out 1:40 Mins.. Mini's spinning , cortina Mk 1s 44 and 5 brilliant and crazy !
Yep I had a few of the different models here when I was a young fellow and they were just fantastic to work on.

Sad to see that Mini crash but it was just a racing accident I believe. They were brilliant all day and there was close action all round the track, but the initial clash between them probably wouldnt have had such a dramatic result if it wasnt for the broken steering on the Sollis car. That sent Dyrdal into that awful trajectory and stopped Sollis from being able to turn himself after the contact. Absolutely loved the racing on Sunday though. Minis chucking themselves at the apexes, duelling Lotus Cortinas and a bit of everything else. Awesome....
Good to catch up as always dude and yeah, unfortunate set of scenarios lead to that one being as big as it was. Had it not snapped the steering it likely would have been just another mini racing shove that you get.
When I saw the grey Jag going round I looked closely to see if there was a guy in the back with a ski mask on & holding a bag of cash from a wages snatch. Classic getaway car.
Surprised to see a Series MM Moggie Minor (green in centre of pack at 8:54) Those are as rare as hens teeth now and better kept preserved.

Great racing said hi in the morning if u remember. shame those two crashes were caused by a bit of clumsiness but the barrier in that mini wreck held up amazingly considering. Just broke the post and they kept fans out of harms way. As u said have that sort of smash at brands or oulton and you'd be seeing something way worse, but it wouldnt stop anything going there lol

Great days racing. The yellow Ginetta G4 should have run rings round every car there, but it looked like the nose was washing out mid-corner, them being flicked back. Either way, something was off, they are meant to handle like they're on rails!

February 2023 South Island New Zealand. 3 weekends of classic motor racing. It would be good to see some of these cars come out here. There will be formula juniors coming out. We get cars from around the world for this series at Teretonga park in Invercargill (southernmost Fia approved race track in the world), Levels in Timaru and Ruapuna at Christchurch.

what's with all the elbows between the Tina's ?? whilst it is nice to see a proper battle with a little rub and tuck I am not sure an old Tina is the right machine for such things ???

@@PhantomMark That's what I thought, I've raced at Mallory and that isn't an overtaking spot, not that late, or that far over anyway, it was obvious what was about to happen, because he was heading for the grass as he hit the braking point, not a great idea. and those old buses are worth a fortune now, it's almost criminal lol I'd have definitely not been a happy bunny if he'd nerfed into my 'Tina like that.
@@Sennaxm71 I think we are probably dancing around real reason out of politeness ? Because they can.......when you have enough money to race a Tina like that what's a dent or two in the grand scheme of things ??
