Yeah the HMV premium Range ( always on a 2 for £15 ). Nice art. Slip box and cards Inside. No extra cost really. That’s the way to do it. Have a few from that range myself 🫡
Most collectors are in denial. Vantiva is the largest manufacturer of optical discs in the world (followed by Sony and i think in last place is Sonopress) and right now, they are selling the whole optical disc division, that includes vinyl too. It was an official announcement. The division will continue to operate in the foreseable future, but it's clear the disc business is not profitable enough for them to keep it.
Playstation caused the downfall of their own format (bluray) just like they did their UMD's lol. PSP came out with UMD for movies, but it was easier and saved battery by downloading and throwing it on a memory card. PS3 came out with DivX support and USB slots. Literally every movie on the internet was encoded in divx at the time 🤣 PS4 I'm sure did the same but I can't remember, I sold it and went back to PC due to the paying to play online annoyance.
@@johnnycarrotheid PC gaming is better anyway. 😂 I need to invest into getting back into a PC. I got the PS5 because it has a 4K player, and it's a gaming console.
@@rayleighsmedia7152 I've yet to spend vouchers I got from work at Xmas, AM5 build I'm looking to build. Well I'm going to build the bones and see if graphics cards come into stock any time soon lol Gives me time to save for one of them anyway 😂
The reason people aren't buying new players. Is because everyone has one. Why would they buy 2 or 3 players? Even my mother had a blu ray player. So did my father in law. Yet they didn't buy physical media
They break. Replacements are required at times. But here’s a thought. Sales of media itself has shrunk exponentially. Which means no one wants them anyway
@@ajsmovieplace Noone wants the players or the discs. Noone wants them. Except me because I'm cheap 😂 I buy them only on the cheap. Will not buy the new stuff, it's price gouging. Will not go down 4k, I looked at sticking a 4k drive in my pc, new chips haven't supported 4k decoding for a few generations. Standalone players, expensive or ps5 etc, expensive, so nope. Cheap used BluRays for 50p/£1 Vs prime etc £5+ for a digicopy. And tbh BluRays at that price beats the cost of hard drives for sailing the seas as well
It may be worth investing in buying back up players.
Now is the time ☝️👍

Thank you for that insight. I hadn’t heard this so that’s great 👍👍
And yeah I agree.
There is a lot of denial at play
I use Playstation as a media player. Although, I do need to invest in a region free player at some point.
I am tempted to get a PS5 I will say.
Maybe down the line 🤔

Why buy new when the used ones are almost or actually are, just given away 🤷
They can't sell new ones because the market is flooded
And why is the market flooded with them and just ‘given away ‘
Is it because - No one wants them.
It all leads to the same conclusion.

@ it does indeed.
If I’d got into collecting now. I’d have saved a fortune
