Absolutely amazing literally first armoured core game and picked up the gameplay instantly so so so much fun it’s crazy seeing an in game store with zero microtrasactions in it as well might be game of the year for me
The issue is overboost is tied to L3 and gets hit often during fights when you really get in it, if normal boost (not quick boost) was automatic it would free up a button to remap quickboost leaving L3 free....paddle controllers will make a huge difference this game. Also you wanna jump and QB will moving the right analog stick at the same time so map it to L2/R2 and swap with back weapons, missiles you can take your finger off the stick for a split second to fire em.
i do agree with you about reactivating the main boosters everytime you stand still is a bit annoying, i would prefer a toggle between activated and deactivated, ive been playing with the Type B layout so far

Kinda reminds me of metal gear solid 5 phantom pain in terms of mission rewards and cost management. I take it there’s loadouts that have a cost going into missions.
costs for missions are your ammo and repairs. how much damage u take, how many deaths u have (i think) and how much you shoot will deduct some money from your earnings. sometimes as much as 50%
Yup I’m in love with this game. I can see how FROM pulls concepts and ideas from their other titles, some of its obvious some of it less so. But I think for all the crap and criticisms we give them, it shows they have great confidence in their ideas because they stick with it and refine them. I once heard that game development is not constantly trying new things but having a few ideas and constantly refining them, and FROM hits that exceptionally well.
You sound tired or sick, you okay? But it'll be nice to see you play Armored Core 6 because I'm not really interested in this series but I may change my mind on that.
yo what's up jee i played some pvp and i think it's better than we thought it was going to be. please note that my information is not complete as i have not fought the full variety of basic builds, but double gatling is actually not very good. i could beat brainless hard lock dual gatling L2+R2 quite reliably against heavy 4 legged mechs and heavy bipeds while using a shotgun, napalm launcher and pistol on a lightweight biped by outmanoeuvring their firing pattern (bunny hop, circle strafe, quickboosts to maintain optimal range) and getting reliable stun with the shotgun i have not played against tank treads, it could be possible that due to their higher attitude control and AP that my build couldn't win against them, or maybe they'll just be sitting ducks regardless of whether the pvp is playable and has a skill ceiling thanks to movement and maintaining your optimal FCS and weapon range, i still think it would be better without the hard lock
People overblow From software game difficulty too much just because it doesnt have difficulty slider. most of their games are neither really hard or really easy
everything is lock on, there's auto lock on which lowers tracking but makes it easier to follow targets dashing behind you, or the manual lock on where you have to use the stick to keep up but have better tracking, so there's no guaranteed aim bot or anything. if ya like movement play it, its so fun. there's so much else to worry about besides aim that the lock ons don't just feel like hand holding

Honestly having more fun in singleplayer than any of the past armored core games by far. Its so damn good.

Money becomes trivial after the first two chapters, money comes so naturally you don’t really need to worry about managing them
Very clean boss fight, nice. Assault Boost towards cover while weapons are reloading/cooling, I should try that more.

dreaded autolock ended up giving me nausea when i tried it. im using m+kb and manual lock and works like a charm
I really like that i can play it without hard lock, i tried hard locking and honestly it made me play worse lol, you jusy have way more maneuverabilty
My experience so far has been mostly graphics designer simulator but the mech action is good as well
I'm glad so many people are enjoying it, for me it wasn't really doing it, had to refund it.

Do snipers have the cringe lock on? I'm an FPS nut and can't stand lock on aim in third person shooters.

actually just remembered there is an upgrade that enables manual aiming, havent tried it tho so not sure how it works
