Yeah it seems crazy there's so many deaf people in the UK when I've met maybe a couple of them in my life... and I live in Manchester, it's not like it's in the middle of nowhere.
The UK has a population of ~67 million split over 4 nations. So I checked online, including hard of hearing there is about 11 million, so that includes many older people who struggle with hearing loss. However, only about 151,000 BSL users. Makes a bit more sense. Video is slightly misleading I think. This service doesn't benefit 12 million people. Still agree it's a great service. Me and my wife learned BSL and have many deaf friends.
I doubt it!! Go on Google earth to see how little of Britain is built up, and how much is vast open land…..there’s no way almost 70 million people live here. This world population is bs, people can easily see that around 95 % of uk is open land yet think believe everything they hear from the tv
I do not understand why Ukraine is delaying the process of reconciliation with Russia, refusing to negotiate and mobilizing already elderly people unfit for military service? After all, there are more victims every day! Apparently, Zelensky and his team keep hoping that NATO countries will go to war with Russia themselves. But we have already damaged our economy because of Ukraine, and now we have to die for it? Why?
if the WHO calculates that in the world 5% of thepopulation is deaf and UK has more than 8%. UK should also solve the reason for this disprportion .

Agree. I’m Deaf and hopefully more change soon with new BSL law is recognition our equal rights our language and public service.

I'm not sure 18% of the UK population is deaf and uses British Sign Language as this video states/implies... however, this is a very good service!

I wear one hearing aid in my left ear i am considered deaf, i wonder what the definition is for it ?
