hi Kevin, so sorry for a quick question, I m planning my trip to Colorado , I watched a lot of your videos , I saw you mention east ridge for pettingell peak ( class 3 ) several times and the nice "drone view" on a outlook. may I know is it easy to find that "outlook" ( where you fly the drone, 5mins in this video) , how long it will take to reach there , is it possible to come back from the same way ? thanks a lot !!
Hey! Thank you! Hard to say on time because we literally took a million photos so we were on the ascent for hours haha. But once you turn right from the lake at Herman Gulch, you hike up tundra to the saddle, then from there the ridge starts. it is before the saddle, kind of. Maybe 30-60 minutes from the lake depending on pace, you’ll know when you’re there based on our photos and videos. You could definitely return that way if you don’t want to climb the ridge
Such good views!
Colorado is the best!

You can get to Bear Lake Road before 5am to dodge the reservation. The rest of the park is before 9am.
